  1. They just renamed a few reels for marketing reasons. Saros and Symetre are gone replaced by Ultegra and Nasci.
  2. In the Hmg line they have a M 7'2" modfast rod rated 3/8-1oz.
  3. I had the bills break on a DT6 and a DT Thug. One broke catching a smallie and the other off a rock. They are delicate but do catch em. The Thug doesnt seem that popular but wow I have success with it .
  4. My father use to catch em on three lures, a purple Snag Proof worm, a hammered nickel spoon, and a school bus yellow Hula Popper. I was born in 71 and also used those three lures plus Hildebrandt spinnerbaits as a teen. Now I have hundreds of lures probably should have kept it simple like Dad. I still have a few original Hula Poppers and might have to add the new one just because.
  5. Both are great, I use reels from both, plus have a couple old Team Daiwa S rods.
  6. For a 3000 size reel I'd go MH spinning. Either the Clarus or even the Slx rod which at MH are rated 8-15lb test line 1/4 to 3/4oz lures.
  7. For a casting rod your best bet if you can find someone selling one is a used St Croix Avid. New either the Mojo or the Premier. If you want a spinning rod I think Fenwick Hmgs are still made in a 2 piece. Are there bass in Italy? When I visit family in the Netherlands they have Pike and walleye(zander) but no bass.
  8. I use to like it because of the great knot strength, for me even with the KVD conditioner #12 had memory problems so I used #10. Used it for a couple of years without any problems. It seemed to be great line. I quit using because of sudden breaks in the spool. It happens shortly after an overrun in Fluoro lines from what I've read, but instead of once a year like the first couple seasons I used it, it happened alot. Maybe it was the green color as TW had it on clearance and Yo Zuri was discontinuing it, maybe it was bad spools or lack of QC but i have not used it since.
  9. Skipping docks with a short spinning rod is much easier IMO. The only other use I have for spinning is very light Rapala type lures, or opening the spool to drop shot .
  10. X2 on the Sunline Defier lines, they are great.
  11. 2 Abu Silver Max reels and 2 Fenwick Eagle rods should be about $200.
  12. Hammered Nickle is the one I always caught bass on. Crappies love the small sized one .
  13. These are what I use for paddle tail swimbaits. It is faster and easier to rig the lures and in my experience do not tear them up as much.
  14. Did you have an overrun? Fluoro breaks in the spool after you've had one. It is why I quit using Yo Zuri , random breaks in the spool not the knot, especially with 12lb up Yo Zuri which is management challenged. I did try Trilene 100% and had the same problem.
  15. Anyone have an idea where I can buy a brown black flake with green pumpkin trailer like this?
  16. I thought some guys on here said they prefer the old reliable VBS, that the SVS was to finicky. I can always add the bearing to my 2 SLX reels. Any other differences? Usually XT signifies extra corrosion protection.
  17. My favorite popper is a Lucky Craft G-Splash. It spits, pops, walks...why did they discontinue it?
  18. I would have snagged a spinning combo if it was an actual Triumph rod with full cork.
  19. I've always found the screwlocks tear the bodies up pretty quickly. I now use the Damiki hooks with the clip that always you to Texas rig em. Its quicker to rig em and they last a little longer.
  20. I busted my Costa Jose 580s about 5 weeks ago diving down to try to grab my falcon lowrider/pflueger supreme xt spinning combo I kicked in the water. I never found them to be that heavy but I also thought they weren't any clearer than the Kaenons with the Trivex lens I had. I gave those to my cousin who was visiting from Holland so I need new glasses. Nice video on what to look for.
  21. Sunline Defier Armillo for single hook lures and Sunline Defier for trebles. Yes those lines are expensive, but they are manageable and strong and you get what you pay for. Armillo comes in 170 yd spools that have some red line in the middle of them so you can put it on 2 different reels with some backing.
  22. 150 is just the original Tatula with the big handle and updated Twing. I'd save the money too.
  23. I'd buy 2 more Slx reels, and use a good copoly line like Gamma, McCoys, Siege, Hybrid. Have 1 med rod with say 8lb for light lures, 2 medhvy rods but have one with a Mod-fast tip for treble lures/blade baits with 10lb test, and finally one with 12lb test for bigger lures. If you fish places with alot of slop maybe the last rod/reel have a spare spool with braid you change out before you go.
  24. I had the same 6'6" Premier ML about 10 years ago too. Had the same power but stiffer tip as my Team All Star 6'4" M SBR. I sold the Premier and kept the All Star for my river smallie rod. I definitely consider the ML Premier a M. Now St Croix once recommended to me their 6'6" Avid ML that was rated for 3/16-1/2 lures as a rod for small topwater/lipless/jerkbaits it was probably a more true ML.
