Pulling A Boat... 4X4 Or 4X2
so true... on my favorite lake there used to be 2 concrete ramps, where i could pull my boat out without the 4x4... last time i went there 2 weeks ago, they were fixing all the facilities, including the 2 ramps.. they had done a provisional dirt ramp, which, due to it being "provisional", was in very bad condition... i had no problem unloading the boat, but when i was leaving, i had a hard time pulling the boat out WITH the 4x4 Low... if i have had 4x2, i would still be there i think... and it was on a week day, i was the only one there, no one else to help me... so, as everyone else, i would vote 4x4... besides, if you use the truck for something more than pulling the boat (camping, hunting), theres even more chance to need the 4x4... in fact i just installed a winch to my Xterra, even though its 4x4, i know i will need it sooner or later...

Fishing Alvaro Obregon Mexico
hahaha, ok, im Made in Mexico, all mexican parts, but got some US software at an early age... i just answered your email, i hope we can work something out... this is our first trip to Oviachic, my uncle goes about twice a year and he always tells me stories about 150 fish in 2 days, which translate to maybe 80-100 from fisherman language to normal language without the BS, but anyways, its a 14 hour drive from here, and if he does it twice a year, i think its really worth giving it a try...

Keeping "go-To" Baits Near While Fishing
i just looked at the vest and it gave me an idea... maybe i could add a small bag to the back of the seats (we upholstered them ourselves), to carry the small plano box and even some pliers, knife and such.... on my jeep i have seat covers with bags on the rear, and they are very useful for keeping things organized, nearby but out of the way... ill see how this turns out... something like this, but much smaller and suited for the plano box:

Keeping "go-To" Baits Near While Fishing
thanx, i have several of the big 3700 with everything i use... but im looking for a way of permanently or semi permanently installing one of the smaller ones like this one: i guess i could just put it in the deck, but i know i will forget more sooner than later that i have it in the deck (i fish from the back of the boat), and i dont want it falling overboard.. it has happened to me before with several packs of worms that i left in the deck, thats why i installed that thing to hold them in place... not i can run at full speed and they will stay there...

How To Wreck A Cumara In 5 Easy Steps
when i get stuck, i strip line out of the reel, wrap it several times around an oar handle, knife, net handle, or whatever, and then pull on that... this way im leaving the rod and reel out of the equation, avoiding damage to both of them....

Keeping "go-To" Baits Near While Fishing
hey... i have 2 tacklebags with (5) 3700 trays in them, and other (4) 3700 trays i put in one of the livewells, since we normally dont fill them (fun fishing, C&R)... the trays have cranks, spinerbaits, and mostly, worms and lizzards and such... at the beginning of the day, i rig a couple rods with cranks, one with a spinnerbait and one with a worm... then, i take couple bags of worms i plan on using, and secure them to my chair with one of these i screwed to the chair: however, when i brake off, or want to change weight, hook, crankbait, or spinnerbait, i need to go to the tackle bags, search in one tray for the weights, in another one for the hooks, and on the other 7 or 8 for the plastics.... in case of the spinnerbaits its easier as i have only 1 tray for them and 3 or 4 for cranks... but for changing plastics, it really takes some time... so what i was thinking is, to securely and permanently install someting to the chair, a smaller tray, or some where i could put a couple types of hooks, several sinkers of different weights, maybe some shakey heads, and then put another "worm holder"... this way i could prepare the smaller tray with what i think i will be using that day, and grab 4 or 5 worm packs and fix them to my chair... that way i would have a lot of things at hand if i need it, and the rest of the equipment would be in the tacklebags in case i want to change the original plan... i also fish a smaller lake from shore, so another smaller tray with the same would be easier to transport than 1 tray full of hooks, 1 full of sinkers, and several for worms... i could only grab the small tray, some packs of worms, and be ready... what do you suggest??

Shakey Head Worms??
thanx... i think ill try it with my veritas and fluoro, and if i like it i may be getting a spinning rod for shakey and drop shot, which is another technique i have been reading and would like to try as well.... so far i only use T rig and it serves me well, but increasing the number of techniques i know, i feel could help me put more bass in the boat...
-
Shakey Head Worms??
great, since that´s what im targeting this season.... maybe later i will try experimenting for size, but for now im a new fisherman still looking for numbers.... my regular outings have produced about 10-15 fish, with the average size at around 2#, with the occasional 4# and a few small ones, so if i can increase the number of fish while keeping the average weight, it would be great....

Considering A Team Tournament League
thats completely correct.... however, if the non boater wants to keep fishing, and apparently they are good at it since they made it to the championship, well, if i was the non boater, i would gladly HELP with some of the costs... of course the boater pays for the boat, truck, insurance, etc... but a couple minor repairs paid partially by the non boater, would insure the boater will continue inviting him.... or else maybe he decides to find another fishing partner who is willing to help... JMO, i as a boater would never ask a non boater for help, but wouldnt refuse it either if it was offered...

Camping Out On A Hole To Wait For The Fish To Turn On
at my local same here... while we may try a couple new spots every time we go to the lake, we normally fish the same spots... we have about 5 spots that normally produce at least 2 or 3 good fish, so we just rotate between them, trying the occasional new spot now and then, but normally going to the same spots that always hold fish... sometimes we get lucky and manage to get several fish from the same spot, and on very rare occasions we dont get a single one... but most of the times we get at least a couple decent fish...

Shakey Head Worms??
thank you!! actually my local lake does not presents much flipping and pitching situations, at least not much that i can distinguish... the lake is a manmade reservoir, and most of it is 10-30 feet deep... so what has been working for us is T rigged senkos and curly tail worms, crawled and hopped in the bottom... we do long casts and hop them back.... i plan on doing basically the same with the shakey head, just leaving them a little bit longer in the bottom between hops...
-
Shakey Head Worms??
thanx... i also have 1/4oz jig heads but since im fishing 25 feet deep i thought 3/8 would work better to get to the bottom.... also, when selecting a rod and line, please keep in mind it it would serve double duty.... the MH is mainly used for spinnerbaits, and the M for cranks.... so, since this shakey head thing is something i just want to try, i dont want line choice to impact negatively the main purpose of each rod... i know it may be hard to accomplish, but basically i just want to give it a try for a couple of times, if i like it i may be getting a specific rod for it, maybe even a spinning rod...
