1. If there were only one website for fishing that I had to choose, it would be this one. Your found the right site.
2. I'm with bcalbin...this is getting old.
3. The problem with that is there are so many books on each subject. I am wanting to do a ref. manual on things such as " best technique and locations to u se jigs" , " best way to fish a CR lizard", etc. Really just trying to distill it all down to a handy little ref. manual. Maybe it's a crazy idea, but I read so much on each subject, it's hard to keep all in the head. Just trying to fine tune my knowledge on each use and techiques of baits to build my own confidence up in using these techniques.
4. Has anyone put together their own fishing reference manual? I am in the process of putting one together for my own use, (ie. best written articles for each type of bait presentation, from top water to jigs, etc) Including knots, best fishing times, just something to have handy where I can quickly reference. I will use a number of the threads here for specific applications, a number of different articles from "Tips & Techniques". Has anyone put their own together? I would be interested to read how you put yours together.\Thanks!
5. Hey Craig, are you planning on writing any more articles for this site Maybe you have written others, I just need to search. Look forward to any other articles you come up with.
6. Call or email your State's DNR. They should have the answere for you. You might even check their website.
7. Glenn, i appreciate all you do for this site. This is my stress release after work. I sit in my famliy room, wirless laptop in my lap and log on while my wife is watching TV or doing something nearby. She always chuckles when I sit down. Thanks! ;D
8. Thanks BD! It looked like the reels were hanging in the air from fishing line??
9. Yeah, get out and reorganize your tackle boxes three times, respool all your reels, after you have taken them all apart , cleaned and lubed, them. Wash your boat, change the motor oil, and the lower unit oil, grease up your wheel bearings on you trailer, keep a running wish list going at BPS, log onto Bassresource.com everynight and talk on the forum, after you have decided on a new boat, take your wife by to show her "to get her approval" go to fishing expos' did I say log onto bassresource.com every night....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Sound familiar to anyone??
10. Yeah....What they said! ;D ;D
11. BD, please Post! I love old tackel and stuff. I wish I had some of my old wooden topwater...maybe their down there now! ;D ;D
12. Ok, enough already. Question: If I caught a bass from a "natural"lake in the bass's natural environment, and decided to take it to my local lake, then a year later that bass was caught and happened to be a world record size, should it not be considered a world record? If not, why not? Because the forage fish might be differnet? Taking that "don't count" argument to it logical conclusion, you would never be able to count a fish a world record. Just keep taking the argument back to the beginning of time.....
13. So Gambler, what do you think is a legitimate body of water for a world record bass?
14. Mike be sure you have sharp hooks.
15. Gambler, I have to respectfully disagree. Many lakes around the country are stocked with forage fish. You have to have forage fish there first after a new lake is formed or you will not have the food to sustain the predator (bass) fish. It makes no sense to stock a new lake with bass if there is no food. You also mention that the Florida bass were supposed to be more difficult to catch (Hence the number of record breakerrs. If they were easy to catch, the fish would never get that large. Also, rememebr the lakes where these record fish came from is southern California. Warm weather year round ...good for the bass, and very deep lake....good for trout . If you want to only let record breaker fish come from "natural lake with no stocking....good luck! If someone is able to hook and land a 22# fiish that is supposed to be difficult to catch, why not allow them to be record breakers. Are you going to say no record breaking smllies can coe form stocked lakes in the north, or no record braking king salmon from the western rivers because they were stocked...you can see where this can go. I don't think we want to go there. Only my humble opinion. Nothing personal, but you asked )

;D PS: I live in northern Calif. I moved from the midwest 8 years ago. I find these lakes are more difficult to fish than the midwest. The water is clearer and deeper. Overall , tougher water. So if you want to catch a record keeper...come on out!
16. By the way, I just saw the same subject line from Road warrior. I read the article first and went right into the forum to post my recommendation on Craig's article, then I scrolled downa nd noticed Roadwarriors. Needless to say, you should read Craig's article on The Hunt for Big Bass!
17. This is an excellent article on the Home Page. I highly recommend this read! Good job Craig!
18. Yum craws have worked well for me.
19. That could be. Was the red thing on for you, Mike?
20. When I post a new topic , I don't get the "new" in the red thing, like others do. What am I doing wrong?
21. If you eve catch a fish on your first cast, your day is over. You might as well go home. You will not catch anymore that day, So NEVER catch a fish on your first catch! LOL ;D
22. Good info Oilpig, Thanks!
23. Yeah I checked out the GPS website metntioned. It was a challenge. Don't knw if I could ever use one of them LOL ;D ;D
24. Dangeruss, How do you like your Tracker? What year/model is it. Any problems with it? I am looking at them right now. Just curious for your opinions. I am asuming if you are having to buy new batteries it is probably a few years old?? Appreciate it!
