  1. I love to fish for both!
  2. GLENN, I have not seen the show. However, having OLN ask to post to your site is indeed a compliment. Also, it's great for OLN to actualy ask all of us our opinion about their programming. Hope they continue to ask; even if it isn't the answer they are looking for. However, just by them asking us tells me they are truly interested in our input.HEY OLN, how about more bass fishing shows with the real pros and less snowboarding.
  3. All of that soundsfamiliar. My wife "wants" me to go fishing. SHe knows how much of a stress release it is for me. she been pushing me to get a bigger boat, join a Fishing club so I cna fish some tournaments, etc. Been married 29 yeaqrs and she gets better every day. (I still do the little honey do jobs for her though, just to be safe! ;D ;D
  4. Very good article, JT. the example you gave was vey illustrative. You know I am from the old school, when you went fishing with your buddies and if you outfished them, you out fished them. I can see where that rule change is going to be very detrimental to tournament fishing and the growth of the sport. Things like that makes one just want to stay away from tournaments and just go fishing for fishing sakes.... and not get allcaught up in the other stuff.
  5. Kind of Spooky looking! LOL
  6. I just bought some Senko's over the weekend, but have never fished them yet. Do you really think the differecne is in the product itself, or the "confidence" of the angler with the sENKO'S?
  7. Bud, you don't know how hard I ahve tried to get her to go fishing with me....just not her thing. But i HAVEN'T tried the guide thing yet. sounds good. I thougt I was lucky to have an understanidng wife about my own fishing spending, etc. I know there is NO WAY she would get into hunting. YOU NEED TO KEEP THAT WOMAN!! Congratulaitons! She sounds like one in a million! ;D ;D ;D
  8. Yeah, I know. I am afraid that is what I am going to do. I have been out spending $$ lately getting ready for the fishing season, so far so good with the wife. She is even pushing me to buy a bigger boat. Willdo that in about a month. But I think I am getting close to her thinking I am "pushing" it a bit and don't want to get her there...if you know what I mean. I've got a good thing going right now with her attitude about my fishing... I am trying to find all the right reasons in selling her the idea why I need all the bells and whistles and all this new gear, etc. PS; thanks for the advice on the fishfinders, I'll check them out,
  9. Hey Bud, Glenn must have moved it to tubes. He must have a GPS on his tube ;D ;D I think I know the answerr to your last sentence, but I will ask anyhow. How do you know? You got jealous yourself and went out and bought it??? ;D
  10. Hey scbassin, Advantages for transducer on trolling motor? The boat I am looking at has a Garmin on the console, don't know if it has GPS though. What do you realloy use GPS for? Does it tie into chartplotter, I assume? What did we all do for fishing before GPS?
  11. Great advice, fisher of men! Great advice!
  12. It has been so long since I have had to look at fishfinders I need some assistance. I may be close to getting a new boat but I will have to put a FF on the bow. I would like to know the following: Is $500 or under a reasonable amount for a good one? What brand? What special features do I need to look for? Is color that important? What about built in GPS? anything else you can think of to help me in my decision. I appreciate it!
  13. Who was your fishing mentor? Father, grandfather, mother, etc. ? How did you get started in this great sport
  14. Congrats, Glenn, I think word of mouth is really helping here as well. great forum..I find I am probably spending too much time on this...you think?? ;D
  15. Hey Roadwarrior, You probably already know this, but there is a speciall hook for rigging live crawdads. It is long, has two hooks that sit on each side of the craedad and is springloaded to help keep it on the 'dad. They don't actually puncture the live crawdad, more like a harness...check them out![
  16. Bill Dance Did I say Bill Dance??
  17. OK, I have read alot of stuff about this subject here. I too am always looking for the "magic lure" I am even waiting for my order of banjo minnows to hit my door...yeah, i went for it. I have seen those catch many fish with fishing partners. The question is: Would any of us be happy if we didn't have all these selections to choose from... I think NOT!! God Bless the advertisrs and the free marketplace!!
  18. Check out the SmokerCrafts. good value and roomy for the family stuff. I had the same type of discussion with my wife last year.
  19. Does anyone here keep any old baits around simply for sentimental value? if so what are they? How 'bout rods and reels?
  20. When I wa a young boy, I used to go out into my front yard and practice my casting. One day, someone drove up, stopped, rolled down his window and said" Hey, the fish are biting on 7th street!" lol ;D ;D
  21. Have any of you guys ever used this "Bass Fishing Matrix" from BASSRESEARCH.COM? I find it qn interesting idea, but didn't want to spend $30 until I got some feedback. Its probably more helpful for less experienced fishermen like me than some of you guys who fish more often and longer at it. Anyway, if anyone has any info/experience with this product, I would appreciate some feedback!
  22. Thanks JT! SOunds like a decent outfit. I will check it out.
  23. Hey HOOSIERANGLER...hows the fishing on Lake Monroe these days. I am originally from terre haute, moved to Caleefornia (as Arnold would say) back in '97. Used to fish the strip pits around the area. and little farm ponds.
