"First time braid suggestion"
Let me start off at saying in all my years I have never used or bought Braid line. I know little or nothing about it. I'm ignorant to these products. I can only assume all braid is not created equally. Im going to buy a pack now to cutoff a potential issue if it comes around. Im going to be fishing with a new Falcon 7' med. spin Crankbait model with micro guides. New Saharra reel. My initial thought is to use 6-8# fluoro or xl that I have in bulk. If if it doesn't want to cast correctly and is looking to be a braid type Rod. Will some of these Spiderwires that I see you guys buying at Wally World be a reasonable choice? Not trying to be cheap, may not even be on clearance in my area. Just trying to cut off a possible headache if it comes around. Braided line suggestions for my setup is greatly appreciated.

Walmart Find
I could be way way off base here but I don't think many guys (at least in my area) are running to Wally looking to buy Falcon Rods. Don't know why they are there in the first place. That Rod I bought sat there for two seasons. With hang tags and all on it. There was two other higher end rods there also that sat there at least that long. But A Zebco $33 combo they'll sell a few cases.

Walmart Find
What a deal. I'd been eyeing up a falcon boocoo 7' Med. spinning Crankbait Rod at Wally for awhile. They had it down to $59, got it for $44. No mistake about it, told mgr. that's what I give him to walk out of store right then with it. No idea how I came up with $44. He said yes. I plan to use it for 1.5 flat sides and 1.5 square bills. First micro guide Rod I own. I will make it work. I'll figure what line combination it likes. $129 to $44 I feel is the only real good deal I've ever gotten from Wally.

Jonesing.......Can't take it anymore
This nor'easter has fried my nads some. Bass mail box broke, couldn't take impact of hurled snow anymore, don't want to see snow around my boat let alone on my cover. We are going backwards. Every time I think about the smallies or some tidal bass fishing the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Sorry Rapala knot.

Whopper Plopper 90 - Loon Or Yellow Head
I'm a newbe with it. I thought the 90 would fall in line with the smallies. A few of you guys had mentioned the 130 is the size to go with and may actually run better. I found this out after. I feel optimistic about the 90's though. There are are a few musky breeds where I fish. I like those hook ups a well.

Don't think there is a mistake. Stopped by a local Wally World yesterday to get my grandsons a few more things for trout fishing and try to help a guy on here with an SK Crankbait he's looking for and came across a few things. I picked up two SK KVD 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits for $3 and two Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps in red patterns that I can use in some tidal fishing. They were blowing out their TrueTurn hooks for $1 a pack. Not Gammys but I don't have a problem with them. Im not a big fan of Wally World but finally found something there I can use for a cheap price.

Whopper Plopper 90 - Loon Or Yellow Head
The whopper plopper 90 is a bait I'm looking forward to fish this year. Over the winter I was given one and bought two of them. Perch, bluegill and the black loon if that is what it's called. One of the very few new things I'm trying on the Delaware River this year. I my opinion how I'm gonna fish it color is not the most important thing. Hope it works well. Looking forward to using mine.

Corporate Fishin'
When I was a young guy we would sneak onto the golf course for some night time top water action. We got caught a few times but nothing ever came of it. Heck we put them all back. Different time back in the 70s and early 80s.

Corporate Fishin'
Corporate pond, 8 lb. bucket mouth, pics of fish, released unharmed, a night in jail. I'll take it.

Vengeance vs Lightning rod
Those Vendettas go Cheap at Wally World also. Got it on clearance but I know I paid more than $25 for it. I think $35-40. It was there forever at $79. Mgr. at store cut it in half at least if I'd take it. I really bought it for a guest or family member were to go with me (doesn't happen very often). I read all the reviews before I bought it. I don't care about all that stuff, felt great in my hand, a lot of guys don't know how to take or use their stuff. I through all the reviews out on that rod. Shame you are not near me or I would let you it for you to try and decide. I've caught some of my nicer smallies on it with a split shot rig. #7 round ss, light wire gammy and Roboworms or Power Worms. I picked up a Falcon 7' med. spin crankbait Rod with micro guides recently at Wally. Sat there forever. They has all kind of clearance stickers on it. Same mgr. asked if he'd take $44 for it. He did, no idea where I came up with that number but I do know it's worth that. Can't wait to use it. Going to use fluoro first and see how it goes. Go with braid if I have to. Never fished braid before.

Fellas,Help me with crankbait Rod
The Premier Crankbait rods are my rods. I use both, I've owned the 6'6" M for a handful of years now. The 7 foot M I bought two years ago. I like the Moderate feel of the tip. I don't like a fast tip for crankbaits. I don't use my rods for anything other than Crankbaits. I don't have a problem casting 1/4 oz. Bandits with them.

Vengeance vs Lightning rod
I've picked up some vengance and lightning shock rods up on clearance for the guys at work with me for $10-$13 at Wally World. Don't own one' The shocks fell awkward to me. Not enough guides to me. Short at least one but I'm not a rod builder. The Abu Garcia Vendetta I own is a great rod. 6'10" ML nothing broken about it has held up great. Tip has a fast/x-fast action. Split shot rigs and drop shot rigs is all I use it for. I put an Orra on it. I would not use mine any other way than finesse worms but that my opinion.

crankbaits and snaps?
I don't use them. SK's, Rapalas, Bandits I tie to rings supplied with baits I don't have any issues, none at all. On an original Rapala floater type or a jointed type I tie a trilene knot. I suppose this would be a time to use a snap but have never tried it.

Bottom Bait Confidence?
All good advice. Try to make yourself as weed less as possible.

Welcome, what an addiction.

When is it too much??
I don't dress like that but, I think it has to do with skin cancer awareness. Hence get you to buy something. Whatever products float your boat I guess.

Multiple setups or one really good setup?
I think decent is a term that would be though to define. I like my St. Croix Rods. I fish the Premier Spins, Premier Crankbait Rods, Avids and Mojos. I could get an up scale St. Croix but can't see it. I have (2) Premier CB rods that I feel are far better rods. But it is only an opinion. You could go to Cabela's and get a ML/M Tourney Special with a mod. fast action, put on a Shimano Sedona or Sahara on it with some Trilene 6lb. test and have one heck of a light Crankbait set up. 3/16 to 5/16 baits. This will cover a lot of cranks. Maybe too light for your fish but just in general and only put out $125. I would say buy what feels right and buy for the intended purpose. You can always up grade later. My love affair with St. Croix might come to an end with my next rod. Recently found some Shimano Rods that feel great. I need a Lite 7 ft. one piece. They have some new casting rods for this year that a nice. They just don't carry as good of a warranty.

Bass Mafia Bait Coffin
I was looking at them a Cabela's after the holiday and that was my thought. I just picked up the bulk pk. of Planos. I don't have a problem with the price but thought it was expensive to not know what it was seeing. Will say the quality of them were nice.

What to Add Next?
Don't sell anything you'll regret it. It's bought and paid for and doesn't eat anything.
-
Am I normal?
My thought exactly. I have a demanding job with equipment repair and always have something to do around the home front. My kids are grown now and do like doing something with the old lady now and then to keep her from killing me but my mind is on it also. Don't sweat it if everything is ok on the home front. It is an addiction. You could be addicted to something a lot worse.

What to Add Next?
Don't sell it or take my comment personal. Just having fun. I know what it is to have lures that won't touch water in a season. Good luck and good fishing. Try to use it. Im impressed just by the list you've made and the time it took to make it.

Bass fishing on hold for now!
I'll try to post a pic my Mr. Greenjeans mail box, he was killed in the Nor'easter yesterday. Was not hit by the snow plow, plow was not even that close but I guess he could not hold up to the weight and mass of the snow being thrown. RIP. I'll order a new one tonight. He's a legend up here where I live.
