My favorite craw of all time was the old Guido Bugs and Guido Baby Bugs. They have been out of the scene for many moons. I still have some. I fish others and I can honestly say in my opinion none are better. Just how it has worked out for me. I also fish the 4" Zoom lizards the same way. The Baby Brush Hogs work great, chartreuse pumpkin, bull frog and grasshopper I've been using for awhile. Over the winter I bought a few black versions. I've gotten hung up on blacks and reds the last few years. Still out to lunch about them but have been giving them an honest go.

I agree with you but I've been using a variety for years. Would be hard for me to totally switch. You are right about the price. You can load up for cheap. Most of the stuff I use never goes on sale (RoboWorm, Kailin, GY and others). But the Zoom stuff I use works!

I love my bass fishing, I really do. I guess I've been serious about trout fishing since I was 10 years old. It's in my blood. I'll never shake that. Some years I fish it more than others. This year is a lighter year for me. The last few falls I've been fishing it a lot between Thanksgiving to the first of the year. Some guys think fishing stocked trout is on the lame side but after those trout have been in there for a couple of months they smarten up and can be something to work for.

I've been hoping to land one my last few time in the Potomac but no such luck. I was not targeting them. Was told that you might hook into one bass fishing.

I know I'm anal. Wife feel that's why people don't want to fish with me. My grandsons will, my two daughters seem to be ok with it. But anyway I will not fish with split shot with the removable ears to remove it easier. I'm screwed if they ever stop making pure round type. I believe those ears will hang you up easier and effect presentation. I admit I am as anal as all get out.

Like you maybe I didn't invent it but I've been fishing a split shot, mojo, drop shot since late 70's or early 80's. I had no idea how to fish larger baits and fish heavier. Anything I learned different was from watching Jerry Mc Guinness. I met him years ago fishing on the Delaware River. Cool dude.

Not to twist the thread because this is a great topic but on my drop shot rigs I just use split shot for my weights. If I get hung up I'm just sacrificing a split shot. My rig pull away fairly easy and I'm not disrupting the area. And I don't loose my worm or hook. I guess ds weight have a purpose or superior in some way but I don't know.

Give him a FireTiger Bomber 8A, Bandit 200 chartreuse with a black back and a Rapala 5 or 7 Shad Rap in the old Silver version.

RoboWorm straight tail worms. Been fishing them for quite some time. Got hooked on them in California when I was out there in early 2000's. We're no Roboworms out east were I am. A guy out there sent me a pot full of them and I was hooked since. Curly tail my favorite is the 4" Power Worm. They use to have a straight tail finesse. No idea what happened to them. I'd like to have 10 cents for every Smallie I've caught on the old Mr. Twister SilkWorm 4.5, Manns 4" Dragon Worm and the old Razor Worm. These are long gone I guess. I stopped looking years ago. The Mr. Twister Exude straight tail was great also. Don't see them anymore also. I'd like 10 cents for everyone I caught on a chartreuse pumpkin version of that.

Rubber worm fishing is very productive way to fish. I find my biggest problem is having to slow myself down a lot after Crankbait and spinner bait fishing. Yes you automatically will fish it slower but just when you think your fishing it slow enough you should probably be fishing a bit slower still. I'm gonna make it a point this season to have days where I fish it exclusively. Or have all plastics days. Worms, grubs and tubes for the day.

I'm old school and it is not forgotten. They're still on my boat. But like you I don't throw it as much as I use to. Skitter prop gets fished a bit more. Skitter pop gets fished more than my pop-r's. *** for tat type thing. I'm a bit old school and a lot of times I am not receptive to change to newer baits that are around or that just hit the scene. Over the winter I bought a few Wopper Ploppers in what I thought are perfect patterns and I am gonna fish them hard and hope for decent results. Time will tell. Tiny Torpedo will live on it is a time proven classic.

Will never give that up. 4"& 5" finesse worms, 1/0 & 2/0 Gammy light wire worm hooks. Big part of my fishing.

Great post. Great responses. I've been a river rat my whole life. I've never figured the spawn out. Tuff time for me. A lot a variation from year to year. I'm not a huge fan of white in general. I believe every word you guys are saying of white I've mostly stuck to the darker colors as pumpkinseeds, smoke, black, black and blue, oxbloods. I've never given white an honest go.

I'm a PA river rat and what is a mind blower when you're fishing a picture perfect lay down from front to back, at least that's how I fish it. Outside of the laydown fishing it toward the bank. You'll hook into a Smallie on the outside of the laydown and as you fish your way back toward the bank you pull a largemouth off the same piece of structure. I've always thought that was pretty cool when that happens.

I don't have that option here in PA. Wish I had that back in the 70's when I was 16. Fishing has been a big part of my life since I was kid. Would have gotten my money's worth out of it. Best I can hope for now is senior lifetime if I live long enough for that to come about.

Split shot or drop shot version works spring, summer and fall on the river for me. I don't fish huge worms. 5" & 4" for the most part. Finesse fishing on a 6'8"/6'10" ML or M set up.

It went pretty good they didn't get their limit but close. They lost quite a few hook ups. Here in PA they are allowed 5. We all had a great time. I had a big variety of bait for them. Power Eggs and Butter Worms worked the best for them. I never even wet a line and didn't think I would. Worked with the oldest on fishing inline spinners. He's taking a liking to fish that way for them. They wanted that trip to the sporting goods store. Building up their tackle. They love that place. There is is a kids trout derby/rodeo near the house this coming Saturday but they can't make it. I figure they could do pretty well if they were able to go. Oh well. I'll post a pic. I'm having a hard time sending from my phone to my email address then to the site. But the problem is from my phone to my email. I'll get one up.

What you have will catch bass. Are you new? How have you done with what you have? If you are new how did you come up with what you have?

Got the two grandsons all day on Sunday. 6 & 10 years old. We're going to hit three or four spots I normally would go. I'll have them on the water at 6:00. Stocked creek sections and hope they land a few. I don't think I'm gonna fish. I should just work with them. They live close by to me but it seem like I can never get them out enough.

You can't take it with you on your way out of this world.
