What's Your Preferred Brand Of Baitcaster?
I voted for Lew's. A close second would be Shimano. Also, I have an Abu, BPS and a Diawa, but I prefer the Lew's over all of my other baitcasters.

Favorite Crayfish/crawdad Lures?

Confidence Bait
I would have to go with a T-rigged Yum dinger or a Strike King Rage Craw on a rage rig.

Lews Bb1 Vs Revo Winch?
I have a Lew's tournament pro and I love it. The lew's is my favorite reel. I also, have a Shimano Chronarch, an Abu Revo S, 2 BPS baitcasters and a Diawa. However, The Lew's casts better, is lighter and feels better than any of my other reels. I would not hesitate to buy another Lew's. I hope this helps.

Max Drag For Flippin/pitchin Reel
When looking for a reel for flippin/pitchin, what would be a minimum allowable max drag to look for? I know a high gear ration is optimal, but I'm not sure about the minimum amount of drag a reel should have for this technique. Thanks for any help.

Chompers Twin Tail Grubs
I am wondering if anyone uses these soft baits. If so, how do you like them? Also, what hooking style do find most productive? (T-rig, C-rig, Jighead etc) Thanks for your help.

Ri Fishing Report
In the past few weeks I have been to Johnson's pond, Upper Slattersville, Breakheart pond and Meschanicutt Lake. The bass were very active on all the lakes except Slattersville. I caught bass ranging from 3 1/2 lbs to little 10 inchers. The day I was on Johnson's the pond was giving up alot of bass and alot of big bass. The biggest of which was an 8 pounder. Also, there were a number of 6, 5 and 4 pounders caught, as well. On most of the lakes I have been to the spawn seems to be over, and the bluegill and sunfish are on beds, or just finishing. Has anyone else in the area seen the same thing?

Gear Ratio For Top Water
I am looking to buy a new reel for top water fishing and I'm unsure what gear ratio is best for this technique. I do not plan on using frogs with this set-up, only poppers and spooks. Any help with the best gear ratio for this set-up will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

River2Sea Rover
I have been looking at buying one of these lures. I was curious to know if anyone has used them before and what were your thoughts about the lure? Also, what color did you find most effective? Thanks for any help.

Consensus On Trokar Hooks
I use trokar, gamakatsu, and moaner hooks. I use the trokar tube, flipping and off set worm hooks. They are super hooks and I have had no problems with them at all. I still use gamakatsu hooks, but I think the trokar are a superior hook.

Concerning The Rage Rig
I just received my moaner hooks for the rage rig. Prior to this I had been using 1/8th Gamakatsu swimbait hooks for my rage rig. I will let you know if the moaner hooks make much difference after I use them. However, I did have trouble keeping fish pegged with the Gama's. Also, the Gama's did fall as horizontal as the rig is supposed to fall.I hope this is solved with the Moaner hooks. I have only used the rage craw and space monkey. Both of these were fished on a 4/0 hook. I think the lobster will work on the same size hook, as well.

Ri Boat Registration Question
Yes, you do need to register your boat and motor. I have a similar boat with a trolling motor, and I needed to register both.

Ri Fishing Report
I fished Wilson's Reservoir 2x this past week. On both occasions the bass were biting. The 1st time I went out I caught 5 bass including a 5+ pounder. The 2nd time I caught 6 bass, but nothing over 2 lbs. I found all the fish shallow, but saw very few beds. The bass were mostly just prowling the shallow areas of the lake.

Trokar Flipping Hooks
I am looking to buy some of these hooks, but I am not sure which size would work best with the lures I plan to use. I am looking to use these with 4" Havoc Pit boss and other similar size and type baits. If anyone can help with the best hook size for these baits I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Ri Fishing Report
I was at Indian lake on Sunday. The fishing was really tough. The weeds had yet to come up and the fish were right on shore. The fishing was slow all day until about 1:30. The bite picked up and a few LM were caught, including a 3.5 lb, and two 2lbs.

Lbs Test For T-Rig And Wacky
Thanks for all the responses. I have recently tried to experiment with braid and a fluro leader. When I fish this set-up I fell disconnected to the worm I am fishing. When I am using fluro I fell that I am more connected to the rig, either T-rig, or whacky. Does anyone else have this same problem, because I see alot of you are recommending the same braid/fluro combo I am currently experimenting with. I ask because; while fishing this weekend, I became frustrated with the braid/fluro set up and stopped using them. Now I am thinking about ditching them all together and going back to either 8 or 10 lbs fluro. Thanks.

Lbs Test For T-Rig And Wacky
I am wondering what size line alot of people use when they are wacky and t-rigging worms. I prefer to use fluro for these applications. I have been using 10 lbs test, but I have been thinking about switching to 8. I am just wondering were you guys fall on this issue. Thanks for any input.

Ri Fishing Report
I went fishing this a few times last week with no luck, but i was in a tournament this weekend and even though the conditions were tough the fish were active. A lot of guys had good days using crankbaits. I caught mine using jerkbaits. Some big fish were caught including a 7.5 lbs largemouth. The water is still in the low 50's but the fish are starting to bite.

Ri Fishing Report
I would like to start with thread about fishing the Rhode Island lakes. I hope this can be an on going thread about how fishing is going on the many lakes throughout the state. I have been doing some shore fishing without much luck. I am wondering how some you guys, who fish RI lakes, are doing? I have fished Randall Pond, Stump Pond, and Meschanicutt Lake. All have not been productive. Thanks to all who contribute.

Tube Fishing
I usually use tubes when I am fishing for small mouth, but I am wondering do a lot of you guys use tubes for large mouth, as well? And if so, are they a time specific(ie summer/fall) soft plastic or are they effective anytime of year? Thanks for your help.
