I am thinking of getting either a Smoke PT, or an Energy PT. Anyone who has experience with these reels your help is appreciated. Also, what do you use the reels for? How do these reels compare to an Abu Garcia Revo SX. Thanks for the help.

What size and weight swimbait hook are you guys using with the 4.8, and the 3.8 size?

Which Dobyn's Champion is most comparable to a 7' MH/F St. Croix Avid. A 703c or something else. By comparable I am asking about tip sensitivity and backbone. I like the Avid's but have always wanted to try a Dobyn's. I have a coupon that put's them at the same price, and would like to get a Dobyn's. I will be using the rod for Rage rig's, and maybe a 1/4 oz jig, but mostly Rage rig with a 1/4 oz stroker hook. Thanks for the help.

I am trying to decided between 2 reels for my frogging set up. I have a reel with 22 lbs. of drag and 29 inches per a turn. I am thinking of getting a Lew's Super Duty at the Spring Fishing Classic. The Lew's has 14 lbs. of drag, but 31 inches per turn. Which would you use as your frogging reel. I am putting it on a Diawa Tatula froggin rod. Thanks for the help.

I used them for the first time last year on a swim jig and loved them. If you decided to spend the money and get some you will not be disappointed. They will catch both quantity and quality bass. They hold up well, too.

Of the two, which 50 lb. braid do you prefer for frog fishing?

I am definitly getting a new frog rod. I have been looking at a Dobyns 736c, and a Powell Max 3D 736. Both have good reviews, but I would like to hear from the people on here who have used these rods. Thanks for the help.

The 7.3 is 29 IPT, and the 8.1 is 32 IPT.

Which gear ratio do you guys prefer for a frog reel?

Booyah pad crasher works well. Very soft, and increases hook up ratio.

I have been using a SK menace grub this summer. I have had very good results using it as a swim jig trailer. The menace is a 4" twin tail.

I caught mine on a rage rigged SK craw. I have caught alot of real nice bass on that rig.
