  1. Saw that. Hope they don't screw up a very good product.

  3. She is picking up speed again and heading for Charleston. Could have major flooding along the South Carolina coast. Hope not. Too many wonderful places along the South Carolina coast to be damaged or destroyed. How did Disney and UCF make out?

That is why they bury the dead above ground in Louisiana. And it also is good business for the Roux-Ga-Roux that roams the Louisiana marsh and swamps and eats people.
  5. Will happen to all of us sooner or later. Last one I helped I had to go through the gills to remove the hook and then cut the line to remove it safely. I guess he made it. All you can do is all you can do and all you can do is enough.
  6. Richard, tell her to go now. Dave at WXrisk.com says the storm will start moving north on Tuesday. She and her family can get ahead of the curve on the highway before everyone starts to run. Be sure to let us know she and her family are OK.
  7. According to Dave at WXrisk.com, the storm will turn north on Tuesday and head up the coast.
  8. What bothered Mullen the most were Franks' mental errors. Franks has the physical attributes but he should have more smarts by this time in his career. You got to know when to keep 'em and when to throw 'em.
  9. Remember, although Namozine is a good fishery it is shallow in places. Be safe and have fun.
  10. Where are you putting in?

Yep, I am still here. Great having you back. Nice boat. Now don't go away again.
  12. Yes, the one still in your tackle box.

Tav, I want to share with you, as I have done for others on this site, the formula given to me by Dr. Jones at Berkeley research lab regarding the best scent to use on plastics. Everyone else please pay attention. MegaStrike is excellent. Use it as a backup to the following formula. Go to Walmart and buy a container of live Nightcrawlers. Go home and put the Nightcrawlers in a special blender along with water. Do not use your wife's blender. Buy a small, cheap, small blender at Walmart for this. Blend the worms into a paste. The consistency of the paste will be based on the amount of water you use. You may want more water to make sure the mix is really messy. Using your own spatula you bought at Walmart, scrape the mixture into a freezer bag, usually a half or full gallon freezer bag. You can also use a Tupperware type container. Once again, do not use any household spatulas. Place the plastics you will be throwing into the bag with the mix, massage the bag so the plastics are hidden within the mix, and place in refrigerator. Tell family about it so they don't use it for sandwiches. Let sit in refrigerator at least overnight. Put bag or Tupperware into a cooler with ice to keep cold so the mixture will not spoil. Take with you and use the plastics during the day. Best scent you could ever think of using. You may want to score a box of surgical blue gloves to remove your plastics from the bag and put on your hook. Also, you can go with MegaStrike or the new Power Bait plastics hawked by Hank Parker. But the Nightcrawler formula is the best. Good luck.
  14. Thanks. i passed your message to her mother in Clymer, Pennsylvania, outside of Indiana, PA. Thanks a million, J. I forwarded the web site to her mother. This is her first hurricane. Hopefully she will remain on campus where it is safe. Appreciate the input.
  15. Nephew's daughter is a student at UCF. What is the university doing? This is her first hurricane as she is from Pennsylvania.
  16. Navy ships may be headed out to sea, too.
  17. At first I thought it was my mother-in-law but then took a closer look and it is definitely my first wife.
  18. Good luck to everyone in the storm's path. This could be a very dangerous storm for Florida. If it gets into the Gulf and reforms itself and heads to New Orleans we could have another problem in the Bayou State if the levees fail again. Would rather have it make a hard right turn and head up the Atlantic coast.
  19. Mike, any possibility you can evacuate? If that storm hits your area it could be devastating.
  20. Daimien's Gulf Coast Atlantic/Pacific Hurricane Tracking Center 4:00 Wednesday August 28, 2019 The EURO Model suggest Dorian will do a Katrina.... This is a Category 3 / 4 Pre-Catastrophic Major Hurricane in the Gulf. Anyone from Louisiana to Florida to South Carolina SHOULD be closely monitoring this storm. The margin of Error with this forecast is BIG. The GFS and EURO are thinking two different things and there are a LOT of Variables to work out. GET PREPARED NOW!!!. Remember other people have to prepare as well. Eventually gas will run out if it gets to grim. As a person that has been through Harvey, Rita, and Ike being over prepared is ALWAYS a good thing.
  21. Welcome, Randy. Glad to have another Richmonder with us.
  22. TennRiver, yes, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, according to the farmers and peo0ple living in the counties outside of Richmond, swear the VDG&IF introduced coyotes into Virginia to control the deer population.
  23. Interesting question. I have given this much thought and after growing up fishing South Louisiana for saltwater and freshwater species, it is my humble opinion that the major difference between saltwater and freshwater fishing is between your ears. It takes more planning and thinking to be successful at freshwater fishing as opposed to throwing live shrimp/baby croakers, squid, sand fleas, blood worms, and artificials in saltwater where you have very active fish and are almost guaranteed a bite on each cast. It is my opinion that bass/freshwater fishing takes more patience, planning, thinking and studying to be successful. What say you?
  24. Yes, it was the first time a team from the loser's bracket won the tournament. It was the first time every player on one team had a hit. It was the first time all the players understood LSU's football coach, Coach O, when Coach O speaks. It was the first time all the players know how to make a roux, catch redfish, make a good gumbo and fry a turkey. And it is the first time the LSU baseball coach, Paul Mainieri, walked around writing down names, addresses, and phone numbers in his little black recruiting book. Geaux River Ridge! Hit the French Quarter for some celebration.
