  1. Beauiful place. Congrats on new career. Tell us how you are going to cook those beautiful trout. ;D
  2. Drop shot showed they were near the bottom. Did you throw a wacky or shaky head presentation for largemouth? What about a deep diving crankbait to tear up the bottom? Just wondering.
  3. Super. Women are more patient than men and I bet she does well. Thanks for sharing the news.
  4. I have never had any geese chase me but I have had the leader of the pack swim over and "honk" his displeasure that I was on his pond. I keep away from geese as they are formidable opponents.
  5. Catt, Yes and no. Yes - You get to learn a body of water from the viewpoint of another angler and also various baits and techniques to fish. Plus other places to locate fish. Club tournaments and small private tournament are the best to gain knowledge. After the tournament, just listening to the other guys will also give you some additional tips. No - If you are a non-boater and have a jerk as a boater you will not only not catch fish but you will have a miserable time. Oveall, tournament fishing is a wonderful way for fellowship and to learn more about what the other guys throw and how they fish. ;D
  6. Hey Buckeye, Each state his its own "Unfair Claims Act" laws. If your insurance company gives the church any grief you can contact your Bureau of Insruance and file a claim. Payment tripples.
  7. Dave, That was great. Good post. Great video. Loved it. Keep 'em coming. They are more fun than homework. ;D ;D ;D
  8. Tigers were flat against Toolame. Miles kept game vanilla so as not to show Bama anything. Lee will have a great game. Scott will run for over 100 yards. Murphy will do well, too. Miles will pull at least one, if not two, trick plays. Satan will walk the sidelines thinking why in the world did he ever leave LSU and he now has to live in Tuscoloser. Baton Rouge is a great place to raise a family and great food, too. Only problem, as I see it, is the game is an afternoon contest. Afternoon contests in Tiger Stadium suck. I hate day games. The only worst thing that could happen to LSU is having to wear purple jerseys. But they wore the purple jerseys against Toolame so it is to the beautiful white jerseys and gold helmets and pants. Geaux Tigers!!!!
  9. I am sure the church has insurance to rebuild. It will be interesting to find out if you all had replacement cost with Increased Cost of Construction included to meet all federal, state and local building codes. And of course, to find out if your limits were up to date to replace the structure and proper to avoid any coinsurance penalties. Keep us posted on the insurance angle. Good luck with the rebuilding.
  10. Sorry to see him go. He had a wonderful career at UT and it is a shame that winning trumps running a good program. Maybe Tubby will bring his ears from Auburn over to UT. Or Nick Satan will jump for UT if the money is right.
  11. I think you can carry anything you want on the Southside of Chicago. ;D
  12. Beautiful pics and great catches. Nice place to fish so keep on fishing and sending in those pics.
  13. I hit Anna on Sunday and caught 10. Two were 13-inches and seven were 12-inches and I nailed a ten-inch dink. Caught four in a row off one boathouse with the shaky head technique. Lots of fun and best day ever on One Fish Anna. So what did I throw and what techniques did I use? Shaky Head off all docks and moored boats on the sunny side of the shoreline. Caught nine on a shaky head and the 10-inch dink on a Bomber Flat A deep diving crankbait in Sexy Shad. Used Culprit orange Shaky Head worms. Should have used a 10-inch blue worm as I would have done better but left them at home. Live and learn. It was windy on the lake this Sunday with overcast skies. I was looking forward to a blue bird day so those devils would hide under the docks and be sitting ducks for wacky and shaky presentations. But no luck as they were scattered all over the place. So if you go back to One Fish Anna, hit the sunny side and throw some topwaters in the AM and then go to your shaky and wacky presentations when the sun starts to shine and the water temps rise.
  14. Ultra Lights are a lot of fun to fish. Caught two ladies over six-pounds each on my ultra light setup. Good report and great pics.
  15. Use snaps on crankbaits. Do not use the ones with the swivels. They allow cranks to work better. They make changing baits faster and easier. Just my two-cents.
  16. Dave, You have too much time on your hands. How about showing us that new bait you are designing and working on??? ;D ;D ;D
  17. Hey guys, One of my friends spoke with a Motor Guide rep and was told that the foot pedistal's grey foot switch has problems and it will break, sooner or later. Mine broke last year and I had to have the switch replaced. Just a word to the wise about Motor Guide.
  18. My Motor Guide trolling motor blew up and I found out about it on October 17th when I was getting ready for a tournament. It actually stopped on the way back to the Hope Springs Marina on the Potomac River but I thought the batteries went dead after 10 hours on the water. Seems the wires in the 24-volt system burned up, a gear was damaged and there was other damage to the unit. Probably because I take the boat into grass and pads and give it a heavy workout when I use it. This is the second time my Motor Guide trolling motor broke right before a tournament. When I replace the Motor Guide I will get a Minn Kota. The main reason I am keeping my Motor Guide is that I purchased the protoype of the Gator Spring Mount from the guy who invented it and the Motor Guide sits upon it beautifully. But it will be Minn Kota for me in the future.
  19. Hey Cart, She only spent $100,000 and she has to return everything. They are props, other than for the $2,000 suits the other presidential candiate owns and wears. But we are not supposed to bring up anything political on this site so let's change your query to: You have $150,000 to buy and outfit a bass boat. What would you do????
  20. Filled up SUV and bass boat for $1.35 a gallon in Bon Air, outside of Richmond, today. The local grocery chain, Ukrops (you-crops) gives you $.10 for ever $50 you spend as a reward towards lowering your gasoline costs so I spent enough to get $.60 off each gallon of gasoline. It was fun filling up today. Other stores have this benefit. I think it got started in New Jersey earlier this year. Anyone else out there have a local merchant that is doing this?

  22. Never heard any public comments about Ike's books. Bass pros are not like that...to make negative comments about other bass pros. The book is an excellent read. I will read it again this winter.
  23. You may want to post in Southeast fishing section of the forum for more input.
  24. Glad to read you avoided that critter.
  25. Bama going down in Baton Rouge will open the door for Penn State. Jo Pa's last hurrah as he retires.
