I take two young boys fishing and we use a red and white round bobber. I use the second to smallest size sold in the stores and they work great. Do not go too big. You want the fish to take the bobber underwater with no problems. So put a chunk of Nightcrawler on your LONG SHANK gold #6 hook under a round red and white bobber and have lots of fun.

Call the Florida game and fisheries department and ask them. I am sure they can give you some insight into their slot limits.

To go on line when others are sleeping. ;D My wife and I were talking yesterday on the subject of how our parents' generation was so different than our son's generation and what our boy has and has had that our parents never enjoyed. Not the computer, but cable and satellite TV, movies, money to spend, parents buying them a car or four-wheeler, parents paying for car insurance, clothes, soccer leagues and equipment, little league and football leagues and equipment, better educations, parents paying for college and fraternities and money to date and gas for the car plus servicing the car, fishing and hunting stuff etc. Even health insurance until they graduate from high school or college. When I was at LSU we were on our own for tests. We took notes and if we were lucky, we could find old tests in the library to use as study guides. Now, with the internet you can get so much more information on different subjects. I send my best for you to nail that test and get an "A" in the course. Then, do some fishing to relax. ;D

As usual, Raul gave a great response to your query. So here is my two cents. If you are fishing a tournament or just want to know what is on the bottom then use tungston. If you are out for a fun time then use lead. When the fish "hits" your bait, either way you will know it. Your type of weight is one of the variables in your set up with your line test and type; your rod's specifications; and your reel's power and type that will help you "feel the bite." So, as the other guys have said, it is personal preference. Just go out and have some fun and use either type, or use a brass weight.

I go with Bandit's off the shelf as I throw them all over the place and when I lose one I am not that upset. I also have some Lucky Craft's, too. I have some from Japan but I dont' throw them too often for fear of losing them. I do not use any hand-made baits other than Dave S's swimbait he sent me and I am extremely caeful when throwing it. Those pics are beautiful. Outsanding paint jobs.

I get in close, 10 to 20 feet to skip. Never had a problem. Use a spinning rig to avoid backlashes with baitcasters.

Sorry, I can't spell tonight. Hookers on Route 60 in Toano. Just west of Williamsburg off I-95. Hit them when you get your drivers license and your parents will let you drive on the highways.

Sammy's are great. Just remember..... Use mono as they are a treble hook bait. SWEEP rod to left or right when setting the hook (as done with all treble hook baits). Keep rod tip low to stop fish from jumping and throwing the Sammy. Keep line TIGHT at all times after you set the hook. Let the fish hit the lure and wait one second, maybe even two seconds, and set the hook with the hard sweeping motion to right or left. Use pliers when removing hooks. Next one you need to consider is the RICO. Beautiful topwater. And when you get down to the Williamsburg area, check out both Pro Tech and Hookes in Tonano. Hookers is the ugly yellow building on Route 60 and Pro Tech is the small, white strucutre on Depot Street. Now talk about some beautiful and $$$$ lures. The Bait Monkey will be your friend for life. ;D P.S. Don't ask how I know that the bass can throw a Sammy. I just know. ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I have felt your pain. A few suggestions. 1. Go with smaller baits on a spinning rig and fish it finesse style. Or go with a smaller spinner bait or Rat-L-Trap (black for cloudy days and blue back for clear days) on a baitcaster with 10-pound test mono for the Rats and flouro for spinnerbait. Add trailer hook to spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. 2. Try a drop-shot or split-shot presentation using a small #1 hook and a "wiggly" plastic worm. 3. Take your time. Be patient. 4. The Carolina rig suggetion is great. Try a C-rig on a baitcaster but with a "wiggly" worm. 5. Try a smaller size Cavitron buzzbait or another buzzbait. Usually black does well but the color is your preference. 6. And throw your crankbaits. Shad colors. A Bandit 200 should do the trick. Use 10 to 12 pound mono on a cranking stick. You can go up to 20 pound test if your rod can handle it. The fish are telling you that they are on the move, feeding for winter, and are looking for moving baits. So try to "match the hatch" according to what they are eating, such as bream, bluegills or shad. If bluegills or bream, use a white, yellow with some blue spinnerbaits. The "blue" is the key color if they are eating bream and bluegills. Don't blame JJ's. The fish are moving around too fast in cooler waters and will only know JJs is around if they actually hit your baits. And when throwing Senkos are you wacky rigging them? If not, please do so along with any plastics you are throwing on your spinning set-up. There are so many possibilities that you will have to choose three or four and go with them and then use other techniquest and baits the next time. But go with the Bandit 200 cranks; smaller size spinnerbaits and Rats; and that Carolina, Split-Shot and Drop-Shot-rigs with the "wiggly" worms. Good luck.

The bow and arrow lure technique can work unless you have set the hook hard. If you set the hook hard then you have driven the hook into the structure and you will need to use anohter technique to rescue your lure. My problem is that I always set the hook when I think I have a strike so the bow and arrow technique does not help me in the majority of hangups.

Rooster, Experiment with different brands. I use Silver Thread, Vanish, Trileen, Izorline and others. I have not used the Transition as yet but may do so next summer to see how it performs. Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft Hybird is excellent so give that one a try, too. I have had some problems with each but they were mostly my fault by tieing a poor knot or not checking for knicks from time to time. There are many brands of flouro out there so start your experiments and then decide which line you like the most.
