  1. Gone Fishin' (Hank Parker's), Orlando Wilson's theme or Billy Westmorland Fishing Diary theme (I am a smallmouth guy)
  2. I have played quite a few fishing games over the years. These are some of my favorites. TNN Bass Tournament of Champions SNES Super Black Bass Snes Trophy Bass (any version) PC Currently I have been playing a bunch on my Wii. I must have about 15 or so fishing games for the Wii, with my favs being Sega Bass Fishing, Fishing Resort, BPS The Strike and Reel Fishing. The real-motion plus controls adds a nice touch. As Stork had said in a previous post, the Twilight Princess game for the Wii has a mini fishing game in it that is awesome! For all those you had played the older games on the Snes. I still play them now on my andoid phone and tablet. Just download a Snes emulator from the play store and then google the rom which are free legal downloads. You'll be reliving old times!! The same can be done for Ps1 and Ps2.
  3. The first video is what i was going to link. Great vid with some really good info, just what you'd expect from Gene. The 2nd video I turned off right after the guy dragged the fish across the gravel.... 4 secs in.
  4. Thanks guys. Bait monkey is strong.
  5. Hey guys, the bait monkey has a hold of me hard and I can't seem to shake him. I am being forced to buy some super spook jr's. I know I made a thread a couple years ago but this is in regards to colors. So far I have jr's (and puppy's) in bone, clear, blue shore and bullfrog (puppies). The bone and clear have been by far the better ones and my head is telling me that there is no reason to switch to another color. For some reason I keep wanting to buy more in different colors and I can't decide on which colors to get. So far I have been looking at the Florida bass, Okie shad, Lake fork shad and Foxy shad. Would love some advice and thoughts.
  6. Super spook jr. Pop R Heddon Torpedo
  7. My main goal is to get my 84yo Father out as many times as he can tolerate without pushing him too much. Secondary goal is to fish lakes I haven't fished before.
  8. That is exactly what I see here as well.
  9. It's brutal isn't it?
  10. Dick's has a buy 1 get 1 50% off promotion right now which includes the pointers. They also had a 1 day free shipping promotion yesterday.
  11. Whether it's a zara puppy or a super spook jr, clear and bone colors are my top producers
  12. Ok, I admit it. Not my most proud of story but I was fishing a heddon torpedo and daydreaming. I heard a splash, felt resistance and naturally set the hook....... 4lb Mallard. I thought things would be ok if I could just get it in and released. Things got interesting when it took to the air.
  13. Snagged a 7'6" Heavy Berkley Lightning rod shock on clearance for $19 and a bunch of Yum Dingers on clearance for $2
  14. Have quite a few and they work great as you know. Just looking for something new.
  15. Thanks guys. My topwater mainly consists of spooks, poppers and prop baits but I just wanted to try something a bit different.
  16. For those of you with 50 size Shimano's and using braid......do any of you use backing? And if so how much backing vs. how much braid?
  17. Ish's profile on Tackle Warehouse lists all the gear he uses/endorses.
  18. I have tried a few different ones over the years have have settled on the Berkley stainless hook remover. Bought it Walmart for under $10 and long enough for toothy fish as well. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Berkley-Stainless-Steel-Hook-Extractor/22086928 The one in the pic has a pink lanyard but they come in black as well.
  19. I am putting together a list of items I need for the upcoming season and I wanted to add some soft plastic frogs for my smallmouth fishing. I have a bunch of the hollow belly pad crasher jr's and spro jr's, which worked great for me last summer, but I am wanting to add either some Stanley Ribbit's, Zoom Horny Toad's or something similar but I am questioning the size. I am thinking a smaller size like the Baby Ribbit but I am unsure so I am asking what you guys prefer for size in this style of bait for smallmouth?
  20. Take a look at Glenn's video on youtube on how to cast a baitcaster. I hope it helps
  21. 1 if I am just fishing a short amount of time. 2 if I have longer to fish.
  22. Wishing you the best of luck. I am interested in knowing how this works out after the changes they made to their warranty program.

Definitely agree with what smalljaw67 said here if you see them busting bait fish after a few experiences I had this past summer. In the past I have mainly started with a popper and then slowly allowed the fish to tell me what they wanted. I had a few days where they were busting bait fish and so I again started with a popper and caught maybe 2 fish on 15 or so casts. Switched to a spook and caught 6 fish on 6 casts. I thought it might have been a fluke...no not the lure )...but it happened again several more times that is changed my approach. Of course not all situations are the same but added knowledge is a great thing.
  24. I was going through some old vhs tapes the other day and came across an old Bassmaster's fishing show that featured Chuck Roberts fishing with a Maine guide and Bassmaster angler. He was telling Chuck how long it took for bass to reach spawning age and how old each bass were at different weights. It was really interesting how the cold weather caused a short growing season. I think I might watch that again.
  25. I watched it live. It was decent. I think the best part was the segment with Bobby Lane.
