I use the in hull tubes and my reels stay dry= dry enough I don't need to take them apart...

As a bank fisher you may need a bit longer rod simply so you can cast farther.

To each their own... But I don't get it. A different rod is a different rod no mater who puts their name on it? That's like saying if I built a rod and sold it to whoever his sponsor is (I honestly have no idea who sponsor's him) and they put their name on it and him saying it's "one of the set"

You Sir, have a lot to learn! First off Bass Pro sells kids shoes= Winning! Second off my 2 & 5 yr old LOVE ot go to Pass Pro! My 5yr old would rather get a package of Flukes than a new toy! You just need to learn to work the angles then it'll all fall into place.

The reel I sold kanasbassfisher08 had 12# Vanish on it. if he hasn't respooled it give it a try next time you fish with him.

I got to play with one. It looked nice BUT, it would get hung up sorta? If you hit the thumb bar then spun the spool once you started reeling it wanted to act like something wasn't all the way in gear. It just felt rough not smooth at all then the next time I thumbed the button them spun the spool then turned the handle it was smooth again . The guys at the counter thought I was crazy so I handed it to them so they could see how rough it was before they believed me . It did this twice in about 10 times of me playing with it. On a side note after they called me to come get one they decided they can't sell them until the classic Feb 23? They said they sold out of a bunch of reels before the classic last year and people were upset that they were out of stock.

I'm going to go look at them Today even though they don't have the one in stock I want. I haven't used a BPS reel before but I like a lot of things about this one not to mention it will be the lowest priced reel I own! On the other hand this one costs around $143 after tax and I can get a Lew's Tournament Pro for $153 And I know that's a great reel but I already have 3 of them and I am not the guy that wants all the same reels so they look pretty all lined up on the deck of the boat. Hooligan, do you think a clean & lube will quiet them down any? I.m wanting to get one to throw cranks and as such it may be one of the most used reels I own are they quiet/smooth enough for this without being annoying ? One more thing how well do they cast long distances?

50# and larger diameter braid won't dig as bad as a smaller diameter braid.

I tried My brand new Zillion out Today ($200) It had me throwing rocks at my SX! JK The SX is a bit finicky but when it's on it's game it'll cast the proverbial country mile!
