Even covering that with Duct tape would be an improvement.

.223/5.56 For Deer
In the State of Kansas nothing smaller than 24 caliber is even legal to use for Deer! In a perfect world a 223 would work fine BUT we don't live in that hypothetical world. Tell him to suck it up & spend the cash on some shells in a suitable calliber... You wouldn't fish for Flathead with an ultralight!

Help Me Find A Kayak!!
J, I was going to send you a PM about a Coosa but since this came up... I am wanting to get another Kayak by spring that I can stand up in and sight fish out of. My main concern is Length. If it's longer than 11'6'' It won't fit in my van & will not work for me. I'll be fishing only small lakes with it on short day trips. Do you think a Coosa is the boat for me & any ideas ware do I find a used one near KC?

Element 21 Carrot Stix® Wild Black Casting Rods
Die the Handel black & remove the hook holder and it looks like it'd be a good rod. Someone explain to me how not sanding the blank makes it stronger? I'd think it'd be the other way around...

St. Croix Rage
I love mine. BTW, they ALL have different grip sizes. I held a 7'2'' MM = Medium Moderate that had a tiny grip diameter. Make sure the guides are straight before you buy one

20' Cajun Bass Boat
I had a 96 20.5' Cajun Travis edition with a 200hp Johnson. I'm not 100% sure if the floor has Plywood under it but I don't remember the hull having anything more than a wooden brace or 2 in the glass? You would not have enough umph to notice how it rides with out the motor but If I remember correctly my motor weight 650lbs Cajun went out of business so the seat would need to be custom made.

Hornady
I'd say if you shot it in the neck it didn't have enough "flesh..." to go through to fully expand. I have a 6mm PPC that is the same caliber as a 243 it's just about 200 fps slower. I've shot Turkeys (hush) with it. It still makes a 243 size hole on the entrance but you could stick a pop can in the exit wound.
