  1. I feel your pain. I bought 2 packs to fish in a certain lake that I know I'm guaranteed to get hung up in so I don't fish them...what was I thinking. I just use lead there with no worries when I have to break off in the rocks.
  2. Lews makes a 7ft 6 heavy that throws 3/4 to 6 oz for 69.99 if on a budget
  3. Best hair in fishing as voted by readers of GQ magazine. I find him very mellow in comparison to Mark Zona and Dave Mercer. What do you hate about the marketing? Abu customer service has been so good, that they'd probably change the marketing for you
  4. Why thank you. I will keep at it!
  5. The all new 2014 Shimano Crucial rods. Featuring Shimano's custom reel seat & proven C4S-HM blank construction. 28% lighter & 13% stronger.
  6. Do you mean dual braking or simple centrifugal? I use my duals with the magnets off most of the time and the centrifugal pins set from 1-3, 2-3 is normal for me. 2-3 with centrifugal only reels is the norm
  7. My rod better have some darn 3m resins in it or imma be resin hell!!! The rod is here, but the rain is coming down. Ill see how it goes tomorrow.
  8. Should be here tonight. I'll throw one of the curados or tatulas on it and it's a party. Is your preference braid or fluoro?
  9. Bait monkey got me with the 15% sale on the 735c. Opted for next day fedex. I'm ready to feel the fishes inhale the bait, fart next to my jig and all that jargon I hear on this site. I cant wait to caress the bottom contours of my favorite lakes with jigs and soft plastics. This is officially the most expensive rod I own. NRX rep sample, you're up next
  10. Im ready to prioritize the inshore soon. If I don't catch anything I can always swim. I bought more of the U.S. Braid in #10 and its been good.
  11. get a cheap spool of red label seguar and use it as leader material when in the rocks...or something more expensive if your heart desires
  12. Based on the booklet the reel allllllllmoooooosttttt.....potentially had more cost to maintain than a Bugatti Veyron :whew:
  13. Red label was breaking on my spool like crazy as main line #12, but is ok as leader material. I have invisx and its been good so far, no breaking issues.
  14. Be happy because it's annoying when you don't know how to fix it. You'll see reports of it in reviews. My finger was killing me before I realized what to do. Happens on my 201. I haven't happen yet on the HG.
  15. Only annoyance is the side door not latching if the spool tension is set too tightly....and when I mean tightly, for a slow rate of fall like a normal bait caster(some models). I usually set my spool loose but I had a bait that needed to be set with more tension, extra brakes killed the distance too much.
  16. Aside from claws missing a bottle of mend it may help save you money repairing baits
  17. How do you like it? Give me the green light!
  18. I had one but the bezel fell out where the line guide is located. I actually returned the gold version for the newer and kicked myself after. I ended up buying a used gold one online because the reel was so succulent! I was willing to give it another shot if its fixed, especially at a discounted rate.
  19. Its been perfect so far. It runs up to #50 from what I've seen in store. I bought some #40. Its in orange so its easy to see if you need to watch your line for any reason. It actually runs in the same diameters as Power Pro, the omniflex was thicker in diameter than power pro was and you get 150 yards of US Braid rather than 130 of the Omniflex. Worth a try, its definitely priced to move and made in 'Merica
