In the summer angler catalog that you can get from the store- New for 2014 "incredibly smooth duralumin gears" Then it has a pic of Roland Martin saying the new and improved duralumin gear system

I remember reports of the reel being geary and not smooth, but I noticed they said they improved the gearing for 2014. Does anyone have experience with them since then the initial release of the newer model. If so, can you feel a difference from the initial release version?

I was fishing sufix 832 on an *** and there wasnt any real audible noise to report. Im not sure how it would sound on the NRX or ***'s recoil guides tho.

For 99 you may like a Cabelas Tournament ZX frog rod, its 7ft3 heavy for 179 you can get a kistler klx frog rod and they also come full handle if you like that I fish with a 80 dollar veritas mh/h and that gets me by in so fla, we have water filled with pads, muck and shopping carts

Ive seen some comments on a few places it was near or on point with their NRX. If thats the case, its a heck of a rod for 279.
