Does anyone make a single 4" steering clip for cable steer outboards to keep the engine straight while trailering or do you just buy a pair and only use one? Thanks.

I am semi retired now. I work 3 days each week. Funny, but I still find it to be too much work. Crappy weather always hits on the days I'm off work and it is beautiful when I'm at work. There is still house chores and the honey do list, so fishing time still suffers. I think I am going to drop down to 2 days of work at the end of this year and see if that helps. I will fully retire in a couple years if they get this hyper inflation under control and my 401k stops tanking. Look forward to much more fishing before my body can't take it.

I take fish pictures sometimes if they are good size, But I have no idea how to get them on here. Some day I will try to see if I can figure it out.

Last 2 times in the store have been pretty bad. 1st time the poor girl at the register was new and looked like she was having a hard time. I asked her to use my reward points and she said I am new and not sure how to do that. I said ok. She scanned my reward card, rang me up, and when I got home I noticed I was not given any points. I called the headquarters and they were not any help. 2nd time, I went in on the first Saturday of their big spring classic sale, my mistake, I picked up a couple of BPS 3700 boxes that were on sale and a couple of lures. They have like 12 cash registers. Only 2 were manned and the lines were half way through the store. All the customers were complaining and several left. If they were that short staffed on a day they new would be busy, the manager should have come out of his office to help. Finally a lady from the front entrance counter came over and opened another register. When I got to the register the guy rang up my boxes at full price. I said those are on sale. He said yea, and kept going. Sure enough, I checked the receipt and it was wrong. Now I had to go back to the front counter that was unmanned. 10 minutes later a lady came over and corrected the order. She was rude and did not apologize, or say anything about the wait. I like to go there just to browse, but my money will now go to TW.

Recently, I have been going through all of the lures stored in the boat and removing stuff I never use. I hate to do this with that nagging voice in my head saying, what if you need that in a certain situation, but I like most, use the same few lures most of the time. I figure I have reduced weight, good for towing and gas mileage. It also makes things easier to find and more organized. Anyone else do this? or do you keep everything in your boat?

Can you use a lithium 100amp hour battery to start your outboard? or are they only good for trolling motors? I have also heard that lithium batteries can be charged with regular onboard chargers? Thanks.

I do not know about the river, but your 10.5 worm is perfect in the summer. I find in cooler water to try downsizing a bit. If you do not have a smaller size worm, try cutting one down. A smaller bait may get a few more bites.

I have been waiting for some tackle from TW that was ordered in July. It has been listed on backorder and the dates for back in stock keep getting pushed back into spring. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed long delays in tackle orders? I know we had some pandemic supply chain issues, but it seems like an extra long wait compared to other similar things.

I think it would be neat to see what's in the lake like structures and stuff, but seeing a fish on sonar and casting and catching it just feels wrong. Nature no longer stands a chance. Figuring out where they might be is the fun part of the puzzle known as fishing. My fondest memories is fishing with my father in an old rented sears gamefisher metal v hull with an old 5hp pull start Johnson on it. No electronics, not even a cell phone for photos. We caught fish almost every time out. Times change, I get that, I now have a small older glass bass boat, 2 stroke, and TM, I still catch bass almost every time out. Fishing is quiet away time in nature. I don't need any electronic screens to have fun. I am not whining or jealous, to each his own. I believe technology changed it from fishing to catching and removed some of the sporting nature involved. Technology does not always make things better.

IMHO, Batteries are simply too heavy. Safety is also a consideration with high voltage / amperage in a wet environment. The stress of running out of juice in current or windy conditions may be another problem. With gas, you can carry an extra tank or possibly get some fuel from another boater or from a marina. As of now, price would also be prohibited. A new Tesla starts around 80 grand, an electric bassboat would probably be similar, and the Tesla won't even pull your boat to the lake and back. If we all plug in car, boat, and run your house the demand rises and so does the price of electricty. Currently there is not enough juice for all. NY & Cali already have brown outs and blackouts during high usage. I am sure the future may have better lighter batteries, a hybrid generator model, hydrogen fuel cell model, or something else. Today I do not believe it is really feasible.

Checked several stores in my area and all the H20 baits are gone. As everyone has said, I hope this is a temporary seasonal change. Dang, I was hoping to buy some H20 baits for myself for Xmas! ?

Just to finish this one, it turned out to be a bad converter control module box that hooks into the lights on the truck. I was a bit unsure about the repair so I had it rewired at my local U-Haul place. Thanks everyone!

Sorry, forgot to mention that I do have LED lights on the trailer, so will look at the ground wire first and go from there. Thanks all.

One of my brake lights on the trailer is not working. Running lights work and turn signals work, just one brake light not on. Any ideas? Thank You.

Ramps are closed on John's lake and the Conway chain. Still looking for any confirmation on others in the area. FWC said ramps are not their jurisdiction and are usually run by city or county governments. Looks like it may be along time before I can hit the water in this area.

Looks like hurricane Ian messed up the fall fishing in much of Florida. I have been looking for a place to go get on the water in central Florida and all of the boat ramps I normally go to are closed due to wind damage to docks and flooded ramps and parking areas. If you know any boat ramps in central Florida that are still open please list below, Thanks. I sent an email to FWC, but I am sure they are too busy to respond. I really just want to get out on the water, after a week of hurricane clean up.

Best spinnerbait I ever had (lost it to a snag), had paper thin blades that had hammered dimples and very little cupping. Those blades would move in the water at all times and made a ton of flash. I am not sure what made it special, but it worked very well steady retrieve just under the surface. The brand was discontinued many years ago and have not found anything that could replace it. ? I agree Hildbrandts work pretty good.
