I got a few nice musky plugs at a yard sale. Most are about 7 inches long and about an inch wide and look like a giant jerkbait. I know bass hit large swimbaits like hudds and slammers, but are these too big or just not something a bass might strike at? We have no muskies or large pike around here so they may be kind of useless to me. I may just put them on ebay and make some cash for some real bass stuff. Your thoughts?

I have some new jerkbait lures that I like, but they do not make the color I want. Can I just use a spray can and paint the back and bottom to my desired color? These are brand new baits, so is there any prep before spraying? Do I need to do a final coating of clear to protect? Sorry about all the questions, I have never tried this before and was just curious. Thank You.

I have always used mono for all of my topwater fishing, but recently had a couple of breakoffs. Does anyone use braid for topwater and is their any negative reason not to? I am not sure if I will make this change, but i am just curious. Thanks.

Number 11 is a lure called the Fincheroo by a company called Robfin. It came out in the early 70's Number 19 is a lure called the Water Scout from a company called CA Clark company. They started production in the 30's and continue today as the Spence Scout by Strike King Lure CO. P.S. Nice display he can be proud of.

Do you guys take the skirt off and then add the trailer or leave the skirt and add trailer?

Use the quicksilver. That is what I use in my evinrude. I use it because it is easier to find and works good.

I had some soft plastic baits sitting on one of my boat seats, not sure if they got warm or if there was a chemical reaction or what. The baits are fine but the upholstery bubbled up slightly. Anyone seen this before and is there anything I can treat the seat with? Thanks

Slone, that rig is in great shape. I learned to fish as a young kid with my dad in a boat just like that. It was not ours, we rented it by the hour at a resort. You have obviously taken very good care of it.

I like to use Mend it to repair soft plastic baits. I buy the small glass bottles with the brush in the cap. It works well but always dries out before I get even part way throughthe bottle. I always make sure the cap is on tight, but it still dries out. Is there anything you can use to restore it to liquid? Does it need to be stored in a cold place? The stuff is kind of expensive especially when you only get a couple uses. I like it, but it may be cheaper to just buy new baits instead of repairing stuff. Anyone else have this problem?

Have yet get a strike on the whopper Plopper. I have a 90, 110, & 2, 130s. You guys that are getting the strikes could you share some info please. Do they work better dead calm or with a slight chop on the water? Do you work it on a slow steady retrieve or quick jerks? Is it best in open water or real close to cover? Time of day matter? Just trying to get dialed in. Thanks.

What other species have you caught while targeting bass, and what did you catch them on? This should be interesting and I am sure Pike and their cousins will come out as number one since those hammer handles love to destroy or steal bass lures. I will get us started. Nothern pike/chain pickeral/muskie (spinnerbait, crank, jerk, topwater, plastic worm) Gar (lipless, spinnerbait, fluke, live shiner) Crappie/speckled perch (lipless) Bluegill (crankbait) Mudfish/bowfin (spinnerbait, live shiner) Catfish (roostertail, plastic worm, crank)

I'm with Jay on this one, I also remove a treble on 3 hook baits. I normally remove the middle one. Helps save your hands some, and the fish from getting multiple hooks. I never never noticed a difference in the catch rate either.

Make a long cast past the school with a lipless bait. When your lure hits the water pull and reel in a yo-yo fashion to keep it near the surface. Kill it, then pull & reel. Caught many doing this with a chrome rattle trap.

The first one is an old Creek Chub lure called a Flip Flap no.4400 in frog finish. This one would be worth some money to collectors. The second one is called an Amazin Maizie by Pachner & Koehler Co. Old, but still fairly common.

Icast is a huge event, in a giant venue. I don't see why they could not add a day at the end and sell tickets to the general public. It would allow consumers a chance to come in and see all of the new stuff to get excited about and drive sales once the new items hit retail shelves. Lets face it, there would not even be an Icast without the consumers buying the products in the end game. They could save the last day for a public preview day. After Glenn and all of the companies have completed their work. General public could enter and view the new offerings that will enter the market. They would probably make enough on tickets that last day to pay for the entire event. PS. Is Bill Lewis going to have the smaller size stutterstep out by then?

I too wear cargo shorts all the time. If this gun is just to protect your life and your belongings at a up close and personal range, a 380 will be fine. It is the same bullet as a 9mm in size, In fact years ago they were known as 9mm shorts,you just don't have the extended range. I carry a lcp in a pocket holster and hardly know it's there. It is loaded with defense rounds and I have an extra loaded mag in the other pocket. Again, something you will probably never use and pray you don't have to, but a comfort none the less. The small size and weight is awesome in the summer heat. With a 380 and the extra shots, I don't feel like I don't have enough fire power to help control a life threatening situation. With any gun, extra practice is mandatory, especially pocket guns, they are kind of snappy. Good luck with your choice.

Any Glock would be my first choice, you pick size you need, 43,26,19,17 all good. Secondly a S & W 642 airweight. Then you have a semi-auto and a wheel gun. Now you have variety, reliability, and you are set for most everything. Targets, self defense, CC, threatening wildlife, etc.
