More Summertime Marsh/Farm
Can you enter that area if you only use your trolling motor, or are not allowed if you have a large engine on your boat?
-
gas/oil mix
I have an old school engine. I usually mix the gas and oil in the gas can and then pour it in the boat gas tank. In an emergency, is it best to pour oil in the boat tank first and add gas or vice versa. Maybe it does not matter?

Quick Swirl--lure removal system
That looks interesting. Please let us know how it works.

Mounted or Replica
I would go with a replica. I have seen many old bad looking skin mounts hanging in older fish camps and bars around the country. The replica will stay in good condition and the fish can swim and reproduce for another angler or anglers to benefit from.

Leader to Braid Knot Help
Unless your water is really clear forget the leader. I used to use mono & floro and now use straight braid. I never noticed a decrease in strikes and no knot or leader break. To me, each knot is always a weak link. Give it a try.

Lake Cycles: Tough Fishing in Florida
I believe Warmer is right. I think many of these florida lakes go through cycles. The last 2.5 years have been severe drought. Most lakes have lost a tremendous amount of water. Water temps are way up and the dissolved oxygen is low. The bass will still feed but seem to feed less and will not do much to get a meal. My catch rate has significantly decreased during this time span. If the water does not return soon fish kills will be seen on some of the smaller lakes. If the water returns in summer rains or a tropical low, I believe the fishing will also return to earlier levels. Those are my thoughts and I am praying for rain.

New Dicks sporting goods store?
The web site had no information on future stores. I asked some local residents in that area and they also did not know when the opening day was scheduled. The customer service help line was no help. I guess I will wait and hope the wait is worth it. I have never been to one of their stores, but others say they have some good tackle selections and good sales. 8-)

Panic box?
Do you have a panic box to use when nothing else is working and if so what lures are in it? Mine has a mepps spinner, a small silver spoon, a yellow roostertail spinner, a black beetlespin, & some 4" junebug finesse worms. Usually one of these will produce a strike.

New Dicks sporting goods store?
There is a new store going up in central florida, (I4 & Hwy 27) Polk Co. Anyone know when it opens? The building is up and looks big. I called their help line and they had no idea about a new store in florida. Go figure. :

mono to braid knot?
I like the back to back uni knot suggested by bassmasterbling. I use it on all of my rigs without a problem. If you are just tying for mono backing you should never work your way all the way back to that knot anyhow.

I Feel Horrible :(
Don't feel bad, it happens to all of us who practice the best C&R methods. If you do not want to eat it, let it go, it could make a recovery or if not something else will consume it. That is what happens when they die naturally.

Clear Acrylic spray for my Megabass Vision 110???
On expensive baits, I usually do not mess with the look or paint. They work great with scratches and sometimes work even better. I do try paint or markers on the cheaper baits and sometimes it works out.

Most irritating fishing condition?
Wind, jet skis, waterskiers, powerboats, crowded ramps, idiots, and having to take a leak and suddenly every boat on the lake stops in viewing distance.

Bass Fishing Things to Say to Get You in Trouble
I can't believe she swallowed that do-nothin worm. I can't believe she ate your dead stick worm.

Fishing Courtesy
It would be nice if people just used some common sense. I went out last weekend to a popular lake. On the weekends, is my only chance at fishing. The crowded ramps and docks are a huge problem. I used to drive away from the city to avoid the crowds, but the gas prices killed that. I was next in line to launch on one side of a double ramp when a lady and her her guy pull up in the middle blocking everything with a giant pontoon boat. She yells out, "guys I am going now, and be carefull I just bought this boat and I am new to this stuff." She tries, backing in about 20 times. her boat is on the dock, in the trees, and every place but the water. Her boy friend is just standing there without a clue. After thirty minutes , she gets it in the water and starts tying ropes and moving stuff around and then can't get the engine started. Finally another angler jumps into the water an pushes this barge off the trailer and tells her to move it over or he is calling the patrol. She was still messing with stuff when I headed out. If you can't back a new boat do us all a favor and go practice in an empty parking lot. Make sure everything is loaded and ready and your equipment is working before you launch. I did get out but was harrassed by jet skis, skiers, and power boats all day. This chain of lakes is huge and these people did not need to even get close to any anglers. If I had a gun I would now be writing this from behind bars!

Harris Chain?
basslovr, I talked to an old timer about lake apopka. He said in about 1970 it was the best bass lake in the state. In about 1974 it became very polluted from runoff of local farms and businesses. It soon became known as the dead sea. The state has bought most of the land around the lake and started a cleanup effort. They still have some bird and gator die offs from residual chemicals. It has become better recently and they do catch some fish, but it will still be several years before it may be a good fishery. That is what he told me and I hope it returns to a bass mecca soon.

My father just moved into the villages retirement community. Lake miona is located there with a ramp. Anyone have any info on this lake? I know some of the retention ponds in that area have some good bass fishing.

Rogue ?
I have all of my jerk baits mixed up when I cleaned out the tackle box. Is there any way to tell a floating rogue from a suspending rogue just by looking at it? Some said red eyes suspend and yellow eyes float, but it does not look that way in the BPS catalog. Any Help?
