swimbait line?
I know this has been talked about some, but I have not got a clear picture yet. I want to fish swimbaits this year. Most say use minimum of 20lb mono. Some say 30-65lb braid, and some say 20lb flourocarbon. My swimbaits are not that big, 5 to 7 inch and 3oz is the largest I have so far. I am thinking of getting an Okuma swimbait rod and cardiff 300 reel. Need proper line suggestions. Thanks.

MegaStrike Announces A New Fish Attractant Formula
I looked at the website and did not see anything that said new formula. It still looked the same. Does it have a new name or new package? Thanks.

worm hooks?
Thanks for the great video. That is something every angler should watch. You sounded like you still prefer the straight shank hook, except for larger plastics and for fishing grass.

worm hooks?
I have heard that a straight shank hook gives the best hook up on a t-rig soft plastic worm. The problem is the rigging. With a straight shank, the hook is always a bit angled and the hook must be completely buried in the worm. An ewg offset hook runs straight and can be skin hooked completely through the worm. Which is preferred and is there a big difference?

Is "Sexy Shad" really that good?
I think it is a good color, but not better than others. Even KVD himself said in his seminar color is last, after location, presentation, structure & cover, baitfish or prey items, weather conditions, seasonal patterns, and water clarity. Color is then chosen to match the exact conditions you have and may change with those conditions. Light or dark and flash or no flash is more important than an exact color of lure.

B.A.S.S. University
Last year the local BPS did there own show called Bass Madness University. It was a one day event at a local hotel convention room. I believe they had six pros that gave presentations. I hope they do that again. It was a good price about $100. and I learned a great deal of useful angling tips.

1lure to cover shad?
A great shad bait that works well and is cheap is a lead head with a curly tail grub in white or gray. Give it a try.

My new River2sea frog came today..... finaly
Sometimes if you trim 1 leg a bit shorter it will help. Be careful, too much trimming can ruin it. Great looking bait. Good luck.

swimbait rod
I throw mostly medium size swimbaits and was wondering what rod you might think is best? I want to pair it with a shimano cardiff 300. I am stuck between a G loomis 904 (bait size 1-3oz) or an Okuma med heavy (bait size 1/2 - 5oz) or anything else? Thanks.

A better shad rap?
I do not know for sure, but I have heard that the cordel grappler shad works pretty good.

2 different lures
I heard about 2 different lures that sounded good. I googled and they look good, but maybe a gimmick. The first is made by Salmo and it is a hard jerkbait called the Skinner. The second is called the injured Minda. At the least, it has a different line tie area. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanx.

How do I remove a hook a bass has swallowed?
Personally, I do not use a net. I have never really needed one and my boat is small and short on room. If you play them out, most can be landed. I have lost a few at the boat, but so do the pros. I think that can be a part of the challenge and fun of the sport. As for a deep hooked fish, I bought a pair of heavy duty sidecutters and I can cut through even a super line heavy duty hook in a second, remove it without hurting the fish and return the fish quickly to fight another day. Just my way and it works like a charm.

when do the bass get lock jaw in Florida?
Cfff1.5 nailed it. They still bite just not as often and they won't move far or fast to get something when the temps drop. The problem is finding them and then making the right presentation. Cold fronts are a real bear until the weather is stabilized for a few days. Then sometimes you can load the boat.

Reel for medium size swimbaits?
I was hoping to stay under $250, but as you all pointed out the proper reel may cost a bit more. Thank You all for the advise. I now have a place to start. Is high speed reels preferred for a medium size swimbait?

Reel for medium size swimbaits?
I want to set up a combo for my swimbaits. I do not have any big baits just medium size up to 3oz maximum. I believe the Okuma will be the best rod, but the reel, I have no clue. Do I need 7 to 1 ratio, A wide spool, what is recommended? Please help. Thanx.

Cavitron?
Just bought my first cavitron and wondered if I need to put on a trailer hook? Just curious? Thanks.

flouro?
For regular fishing, worms, senkos, jerkbaits, etc. Do you really need a flouro leader on braid? If so, how long of leader is recommended? I have been just using straight 20lb braid. It seems to work ok, but am I not getting as many bites without the flouro leader? Any thoughts or help?

Pegging a sinker to the worm vs. letting the sinker hang free?
I peg my sinkers. It works better for me and you can make more accurate casts with one piece. ( the two don't fly apart and swing around in the air). The sinker will not end up on one side of the cover and worm on the other. One piece casting is how we fish most other lures, except for a C-rig and thats another story. I also notice if the sinker is free sliding it can knock the worm down on the hook more. Just my opinion.

what color are you using?

fluoro or mono?
This will sound bad, however I change line fairly often on many different rods. Some have braid, some clear mono and some flouro. The braid is obvious, but now I am unsure if the line on my other rods is mono or flouro. Is there any way to tell the diffrerence once they are on the reels?

Discontinued Lures
My favorite spinnerbait was made by a company called Bulldog. I got it about 14 years ago. It was a single spin colorado in a strange color; gold, copper, gray color. It was a catchin machine until i lost it to a snag. never have found another even close. :'(

pop r tail slap
Sometimes, if you quickly change size of lure or color you can get them to hit. Also try different retrieve speeds, including just leave it sitting for long pauses.

Great waterproof fishing camera
Nice Camera! I would like to find one with a fold out screen so I can see myself holding a fish I usually fish alone and it is sometimes hard to get a good picture quickly and then release the fish.
