Tungsten Weights?
I dont think they are much good for texas rigged baits. The advantage the tungsten weight gives is that if you use a 1- 1 1/2oz weight for jigs, they arent as big as a house.

How Long Before You Switch?
For me it all depends on what the water conditions, time of day, weather, and cover. I always fish my go to bait first, and if that doesnt produce, then I know its gonna be a tough day.

What Action For The Veritas Rod?
Also, its a good thing you got the right reel the first time

What Action For The Veritas Rod?
If your fishing treble baits, a light rod is better to absorb the pulls as to not pull out the hooks with fighting the fish, I would go the M route.

Slight Bend On Rod

Bps Inshore Extreme Problems
Sounds like a generic made reel has shown itself as an inferior product. That sucks that this happened, but unfortunately you get what you pay for. I have owned the Extreme low profile reel myself. I had it for a month before returning it due to it being a reel of no satisfaction. If you bought it due to what you can afford to fish, this may happen to you with other reels being a problem. My suggestion would be to up the price and jump into a better made reel, like a Shimano Citica or Abu Revo S.

Revo Gen 3 Vs. Chronarch 200E
If hype you mean proven, then yes. We are annoying because we dont quit, like a fine Shimano reel.

Rod Or Reel, Where Should You Put Your Money?
I'll let you know in 30 years when Im still fishing my E series Citica, Curados, and Chronarchs.

Rod Or Reel, Where Should You Put Your Money?
The difference in price is going to be how well the equipment is going to hold up to abuse, and how long they will last you. I dont care what anyone says, a $60 Abu Black Max combo is not going to last as long, or is built as well as a (and just using this as an example) Shimano Chronarch on a Veritas rod for $300. Yes it will get fish in the boat, but you will be needing a new reel after a while. With reels that are around $200 like the Chronarch, STX, Lews Pro Speed Spool, etc, they will give you 10-20-30 years of use, and more with proper maint. Of course the Shimano is gonna be the one to last closer to the 30 year mark.

Changing It Up
I hate slow fishing myself. Some days here in FL, I will throw my 13" worms with a 1/16oz weight and bump it along the bottom of the canal. It will do 2 things: find structure that I did not know was there, and find fish that may be hanging out on the bottom. If its just too hot to be chucking and winding, its a good way to just slow down and relax too.

Awesome reel. I like them better than my Curado E, smoother, and better drag.

What Action For The Veritas Rod?
OK, Ive decided Im going to get the Abu Veritas rod for my Chronarch 50E setup. Here are my plans, 40# braid to throw soft plastic frogs along the top of the water, and soft plastic swim baits just below the surface. Will be used in moderate/heavy/no cover. My Vendetta is pretty stout for a M 7' rod, and works well with my Curado 50E and 12# YoZuri on it for similar use. So should I get a M power Veritas as well or bump it up to the MH? I want 7', and what action should I get? For those of you that have them, give me some suggestions. Thanks guys.

Rod Or Reel, Where Should You Put Your Money?
$150-200 on a reel, and $50-100 for the rod would be a fair setup.
