  1. My wife uses a GL3 rod with a shimano 2500 symetre reel and she loves it. She uses this when she fishes a horny toad and has never had any problems. Give a symetre a try.
  2. I have the MBR844 IMX and love it. I would go with the MBR844 if I were you. Why wouldn't you use it in saltwater. I use all my g-loomis rods in saltwater and have never had any problems.
  3. I went out in the wind and cold well Florida cold 45 today. I fished from 3:30-5:45pm and I got a 19" bass on a watermelon bbh and 2 other ones in the 14" range on that lure. After that nothing for about 30minutes so I moved to another lake spot and had 4 cast and caught 4 bass in the 12"-14" range with the LC LVR mini. Fished for about 45 minutes with out a hit and got hungry so I went home. So not a bad day in the wind. Here's a pic of the 19" bass I caught.
  4. Thanks I might have to give them a try.
  5. Congrats on your new rod but now you won't want anything else but a gloomis rod.
  6. I use 10-20lb power pro for all my spinning reels and have never had any problems. Down here in Florida for saltwater all they use is braid on spinning reels. Just use a leader if the water is clear.
  7. I have the same set up but my MBR844C was custom made so a few things different. But your going to love it. Down here in Florida I have fished with the frog and it feels great and plenty of drag on the reel. You have made a perfect choice.
  8. There are times that I use watermelon and can't get a hit switch to pumpkin and the bass start hitting. So I believe that color does matter.
  9. Got to love living in Florida. Only in Florida can you wear shorts this time of year.

Sorry about your lost Avid that really sucks.
  11. I have both a GL3 and a IMX. I have to say that the IMX is lighter and more sensitive.
  12. Good luck on getting the rod. You won't want any other rod from now on after you get a g-loomis. I 3 and just got a custom made g-loomis IMX 844 with titanium guides and love it. Nothing better then a g-loomis.
  13. Jetsprint2 get the zillion and you will say shimano what is a shimano.
  14. I use 10lb power pro and the diameter on that matches 4lb mono. I have also used 8lb power pro and that matches 2lb mono so I guess it doesn't matter what you use. Use what you like is what I say.
  15. 1.Worm-Zoom finesse in a pumpkin 2.Stickbait-Wave tiki worm watermelon and redflakes 3.Fluke-Zoom superfluke baby bass 4.Craw-Zoom speed craw watermelon 5.Tube-Haven't used one 6.Creature-Zoom Baby brush hog watermelon 7.Frog-Zoom horny toad green pumpkin 8.Grub-Don't use one 9.Lizard-Haven't used one yet 10.Other-Gambler Cane toad I use a lot of colors.
  16. I have a calcutta and now I have the new daiwa zillion 7.1. I love the feel and how it cast. Now I won't put my zillion down for any other reel. Go get the zillion and you won't regret it.
  17. Alright after seeing that video I'll be buying some now.
  18. I fish it in 20' if that's deep and do great with it rigged on a 1/8oz. or 1/4oz. weight.
  19. All my reels have power pro. I've been using it since it came out and now I won't use anything else. My accurist has 15lb power pro and I love it. Give it a try and you will be happy.
  20. I need help with trying to learn how to fish with a jig. I bought some booyah jigs but can't catch anything with them. Should I fish them in deep water or shallow water and do people use them in Florida? Also I have some zoom trailers for them. How do I rig them with a trailer? Does anyone have a pic of what it's suppose to luck like?
  21. I have the zillion 7.1 and love it. There is no way I will give it up.
  22. Down here in Florida you have a ton of metros that fish.
