Bait caster medium fast. Flouro line and started nose hooking them this year. Pretty good system but still t rig them weight less. Bait caster just seems to catch up to em quicker and more solid hook sets.

Way back in the day a book came out called lunkers love night crawlers came out. Then walking sinkers. A worm air injector and a whole system. It tore em up. So I would say it still would work today so I’m gonna say live bait. This was back before CPR too.

I know a lot guys don’t like it but i have had good luck with Berkley Vanish. I fish the rivers hard for Smallmouth and holds up great.

Been doing good in the river with Rage swimmer t rigged. It seems to get hung a lot less then with a jig head or wobble head.
