Where should a leader 'normally' break at?
I've had my Alberto knot fail so many times that I went back to the uni to uni. I'm well aware that it's my fault but I never figured out the problem, and don't care too. All I know is my Alberto fails and my uni to uni never fails. I've tied the Alberto many a nights in front of the TV and it never fails. but as soon as i hit the water...

If you fish fluoro
Like shaming? I didn't know there was such a thing until now You guys better get ur running shoes on b/c that magical silver bullet lure that wins the classic is about to be announced Gee I wonder why it's always won on a 'limited production' lure that is just about to be released to the masses? It's all good and I'm giving you guys likes b/c I respect difference of opinion

If you fish fluoro
skip the fluoro and jump straight to braid. so much easier to manage on spinning and casting gear. why do all the pro's 'use' fluoro? it's a huge money maker for manufactures so it's what they advertise via their reps. they make a fraction of profits on braid b/c it lasts so long, or mono b/c it's so cheap. you can pick out a braid backlash many times w/o compromising it. backlash fluoro and it's back to the bank for another purchase

Important info for Maryland Tidal largemouth bass anglers
i'm lost here. they are blaming tournaments for the bass decline? i've seen endless studies of tourny bass being released only to return to their exact same haunt w/ in 24-48 hrs. it held true even under very far distances. they based this proposal on 'angler feedback and surveys' and not science?

Swim jig and Chatterbait color selection
Location trumps color. Second runner up...deflection trumps color. Two summers ago I was bank fishing one direction and was killing it on a white/chartreuse chatterbait. Eventually got snagged and lost it. My heart sank b/c i didn't have another along. So I tied on my only other chatter, black/blue. I killed it on the way back home at the same places, deflecting off the same cover/structure. It was a great day of fishing and a good lesson on top. After that day I had tons of confidence in the lure and how to use it, not the color.

A rare insight into crankbait fishing
Agreed. I have no idea how this 10 yr old post is considered pinned worthy. I'm no cranking expert but I do know deflection is the number one rule of the game, not vibration. You have to be constantly deflecting off cover or structure. Not just hard cover/structure either. Weeds and lily pads are just as critical. And give the lure a good pause after deflecting to allow it to rise. Lots of bites come during the rise/pause. Only 1/3rd of your retrieve will be spent on bottom. The first 1/3rd is the decent and the last 1/3rd is the ascent. Those times spent in open water are when I really focus on cadence. Change it up, rip, pause, reel burst etc. Anything to try and instigate a stalker into biting. Also lift ur rod tip high 75 ft before the boat. It will cause a false rise which also instigates strikes. How many times has a bass committed just as you were about to lift ur lure out of the water? Their instinct kicks in b/c pushing bait to the surface is how they hunt. Creating that false rise further out means you have a better chance of instigating that strike before the bass sees the boat. Lord knows we all hate that moment when a follower sees us and does a 180 back into the depths.

TROUT SEASON IS APPROACHING
x2 on the Trout magnet, 1/16 oz neon pink. those things are like senko crack for trout. great for drifting Roostertail or 1/8oz Mepps spinner for shallow water. and a Spoon with a single upward hook b/c doesn't get snagged like trebles. I use this in 'deeper' water. http://www.yakimabait.com/products/shad-king/ I can cover any type of water with these 3 lures, which makes me realize I only complicate bass fishing

hydro-turf? http://hydroturf.com/index.php- advice on buying a bass boat
16-17' no center seat jon w/ 40-60 hp tiller 4 stroke EFI. something along the lines of a Crestliner 1756 retriever. from what I've read those engines are the most beginner/maintenance friendly. i don't fish tournys so i don't need a live well. i know duck hunters prefer that layout but i think all that space will suit me. also I'm going to be mooring all season so for now I can get away with my 4 cyl honda 'tow vehicle I have a health fear of being a new boater b/c I don't know the first thing about navigation, maintenance, docking etc. the only thing I have confidence in is launching b/c i have experience with 18-24 ft trucks, and also backing up trailers. a smaller tiller boat seems like a good place to start. i would buy used from a forum member so i'm gonna post this spring.- 3D Printing

and who exactly wrote this bible of a label that you trust our fish, children and health with? I'll bet you $1 I can guess I remember reading this study years ago and it's just as disturbing to read now as then. The truth is our water 'treatment' plants aren't equipped to deal with the wide array of chemicals that enter them. Technically we should have many different treatment plants to treat different levels of waste water. And obviously the EPA needs to grow a set. Europe is far ahead of us. Many countries and regions are requiring new industrial plants to be closed systems. They must be self sustainable and cannot continually bring in resources and dispose of them. They must produce their own electricity, clean their own water for re-use etc. Gone are the days of industrial plants built on a river that take in clean water and dump contaminated. It will be nice when we finally have those regulations. - New Computer
