The latest sale thread
I ordered two of these at the Memorial day sale and had to return them b/c the foot arm changed dramatically. They have a new hard, almost 45 degree angle so my fingers couldn't fit between the rod and reel to work a lure. It's amazing how easily a manufacturer can screw up a good thing. I'll post a pix if i can find it. My guess is they are selling these off quick to go back to the old design. It might not look like a lot in the pix but it's a world of difference if you use the back of ur fingers to work the rod tip.

Favorite weedless alternatives for Ned rigging?

Trolling motor for canoe
I came to say this^ to clarify more: a standard 5 speed will have 5 click positions you must choose from. The Endrua max doesn't have positions so you can increase/decrease throughout the 'dial'/handle. it saves power b/c you can in essence spin to 1.60 instead of having to click to 2 position like the old ones. adds up to alot of savings throughout the day. hope that made sense

I can't find fish

When to use a bullet weight?
yea i read that as peg vs not peg
-
When to use a bullet weight?
doesn't look like Mr T rig expert @Catt has chimed in yet. I used to peg but i'm sure it was him that changed it for me. I think he recommended only pegging when fishing vertical ie pitching timber or a target. all other horizontal times it's not pegged. not pegged being preferred b/c a fish will inhale the lure and not the weight=bass hold onto it longer. maybe he can verify

Lake advice
froggie analyzing punch cover (or any cover for that matter) starts at 15:06 don't cast to every square inch of the shoreline/lily pads. just pick the high percentage areas. it takes awhile to learn what they look like so in the meantime cast to 10-20 very distinctively different areas.

What Does Confident Fishing Mean To You
technique/lure confidences: you've fished a lure for so long, the wrong ways, that you've eliminated all possibilities and know the right way.

Give slack or strike back when bass unexpectedly hit soft plastic as you reel in for recast?
usually there is a noticeable difference between the machine gun tap of a baitfish humping ur lure vs the thump of a bass trying to wound it. if it's a thump i go with bluebasser86 approach. the other day the bite was more like a baitfish and i didn't want to tear my senko playing tug of war with a baitfish. so i stopped and waited for it to leave. then the rod bent so i swept and it was a 2 lb bass. baitfish might tighten the slack but they generally won't bend the rod. tourny guys often talk about shaking off a fish while pre-fishing so they can come back and hook it during game time. they are always amazement how long a bass will hold the lure and/or swim around with it. I started experimenting and you can learn a lot. just know how to unhook a gut hooked fish.

Fishing slump??
slow down. think you slowed down already? now slow down 4 times more. set the rod down and text a few friends. pick it up and feel a bass hit that catatonic senko. now that's some summer time dead sticking. also fish big baits slow. or small baits fast. or best fish small baits slow--Ned rig. if you can't catch'm on a Ned rig it's time to find a new hobby

Punching Heavy Weeds Question
- Everybody's an expert
at times I've been known to take fishing too seriously. that's usually about the same time a humble beating comes along. Now Juanelo knows how to always bring the fun on Lake Ketchabigwon. https://youtu.be/yuvbY6GqkbU- Crappie
do some black crappie have gold eyes, and some red? is it a gender or species trait?- Losing Too Many Fish Lately
with treble hooks i do two hook sets (or more correctly 'hook sweeps). it's less common but if they take the lure and are running straight at me i'm more concerned with reeling up line than a hook set. sooner or later they break right or left and i get a hook sweep on them. as long as a bass isn't making a run the opposite direction i will sweep into them a second time. after that i just keep pressure the rest of the battle. hackney is talking jigs but covers so many great concepts about hook sets. they apply to many techniques like frogging, drop shot, T rig, wacky etc. the more I fish the less i 'set the hook'. no more slack line hook sets. for me it's more about reeling up slack, feeling the fish on the tip of my rod, and hook sweeps. i'm only human so some days i still get over excited and ESPN them- Need help fishing a pond
in the dog days of summer you gotta have more tricks in ur hat that reaction baits. you can use big lures slowly like dragging 10" worms. or small baits quickly like 3" swimbaits or roadrunners or better yet small baits slowly like the Ned rig.- Ethical Dilemma?
scroll down to the pictures Glenn posted and you will never harm another bass- Slab alert!
you're making me hungry. nice catch- Ned rig?
good old fashion split shot. Bass pro sells clam shot. it doesn't have ears to crimp on and off again (those are what get hung up on weeds). #9 is very small and light so i use 2-3 in glass calm conditions w/ an ultra light rod. depending on ur rod you'll need #5-7. the clam shell style is a one way ticket in that you generally can't re-use them. unless ur really cheap and bored, and use a razor blade to pry them open i don't like compromising my line bc of crimping shot on it tight (6 lb fluoro). instead i use a bobber stop like a makeshift carolina rig. keeps the shot from sliding down the line. other than clam shot just texas rig worm with a small hook. i've been using it this year in my weed locations with great success. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Clam-Shot-Weights/product/30031/- Frog Frustrations
