  1. i agree, if you like it wear it. the worst ribbing you could get is being on a pond/small lake with one other guy and him saying "One man tourny today?" realistically you'll get far more guys asking if you're sponsored. i wouldn't feel bad at all saying 'not officially but these are the guys, co, sites i like to support'.
  2. he came up with a good idea that may have inconvenienced some people but it saved his life http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/stranded-man-cuts-power-poles-to-draw-attention-1.890115
  3. are you fishing from shore or boat/kayak etc?
  4. you got the right idea. upgrading to bigger worms means bigger bass in general. they fall faster and get to the bottom quicker which is big bass territory and seems to keep dinks at bay. i also like to think of big bass taking an interest as soon as they hit the water. ie a turn of the head or any movement at all mean the dinks need to stay away or else . they work great anytime but esp good pre thru post spawn. i have great success in the middle of august too but if the water temp is high you need the patience of a chopping block. and they are awesome for night fishing. keep in mind neither a 5" or 10" will work if there are no fish for 100yds. this is more a factor if ur fishing larger bodies of water. not a problem if ur fishing ponds. i like 6" senkos and 10" ribbon tails for ponds and small lakes. fewer bites but bigger fish. yes just use ur same retrieve and experiment to find out what they want that day.
  5. I like the way my buddy responds to the question: "old enough to know. young enough not to listen"
  6. very cool. got me as Philly w/ Yonkers/Newark possibility. i like how they tell you 3 distinctive answers. (for me: hoagie, mischief night, sneakers)
  7. I fish a lot. Of course a lot is open to interpretation. I would guess I easily fish over 100+ days a year. I feel lucky to be able to do so. I don't keep a log but when I ran some quick numbers I realistically only fish 80-90 days. (March 3; April 5; May 8; June 10; July 12; Aug 12; Sept 12; Oct 10; Nov 8; Dec 2) How many days per year do you think you fish vs actually fish?
  8. YTM Mike! (you the man). Thanks for the killer jigs. i can't wait to hit the water with them...and with the weather we've been having I won't have to wait till March. Is it weird that I think 'new jig smell' is sexy? Merry Christmas everyone!
  9. Mike@DVT gave me a great tip i enjoyed this year. i said i was worried about doing damage while removing the spool bearing so i'd probably buy the special pliers. he said i didn't have to remove it but could fill a small vertical container with acetone to soak it while on spool. i use a Shapie marker cap and just soak for 2 min, spin..repeat a few times. works like a charm. i even found a small clear cap and you can see the dirt and oil plane as day. tks Mike. (per his warning acetone can damage ur line so cover it well with tape etc. i tape my braid and make sure not to spin the bearing like superman and it works great. but i would cover it extra well if i had very expensive fluoro on spool)
  10. Amazon might want to reconsider their new delivery program. why does my new pair of underware have buck shot holes in it?
  11. this is how i felt until i learned how far ahead many european countries are on this. many have laws prohibiting hate speech. simply put b/c it only has one purpose..to do harm. i think within our lifetime many of us will see hate speech no longer protected. I don't know what I'll do when that day comes...probably go fishing
  12. nice thread and i'm looking forward to seeing ur jigs. i used light gauge wire (actually guitar wire) to make my hair jigs weedless but haven't been totally happy. i'm going to try fluoro or mono after i see ur work.
  13. keep a slip bobber w/ wacky senko in the water while ur trying to figure them out w/ ur other rod. adjust ur bobber stopper to various lengths to experiment with different depths.don't be shy about using live bait. the same slip bobber rig but with a live night crawler w/ a split shot above to help it sink (or minnow). or drop shot with live minnow.
  14. toy dogs. i wouldn't call it a bark as much as a repetitive ear piercing chirp. i head to nature to get away from the city and noises. 2 of my fisheries have houses on them with toy dogs. these owners lock them outside and the #*(@) things scream all day long. it echoes off the water..and my brain. these places loose all serenity when the dogs are out. i've even encountered two men in a boat with a paris hilton dog that was literally barking for 3 hrs straight. it's bark was still echoing as i moved 500 yds away and ran out of water. these people are inconsiderate pet owner who just want a lap dog or arm decoration but they can't be bothered to discipline their 'dogs' and teach them not to bark? hate isn't a strong enough word for how i feel about these overgrown rats. i wouldn't mind rigging one up as musky bait. now let me tell how i really feel in the end it's the bad pet owners that gotta go. the dogs can stay.

lol i was just thinking it looked like a Audi, Mustang and BMW hybrid
  16. i still can't believe they sell one treble hook for $3.50
  17. please don't call my 'tickle' small mum
  18. If they work on cute brunettes I'm buying a few
  19. and Don't have your toy dog sitting on ur lap. I'd have no problem fishing salt water from a kayak or even surfing. but no way i'd scuba dive. (unless maybe i had very good/ experienced friends to teach me the ropes..or fins).
  20. Tugmaster summed it up. the only extra thing that initially confused me in Pa is that some lakes require their own permit. it's usually only $5-10. can check online, stop in the park office or ask other boats at the launch. i have to go to the township office for one pond and show my drivers license and fishing license in order to buy the permit (b/c there is no office/boat house facility on the pond. if ur boat is fully registered and you have all ur licenses you should be fine. i've also had a ranger sell me a $25 permit on the spot. i had no idea there was a permit for that lake b/c its such a weird off the beat and path place.
  21. she wasn't hooked but ur hooked for life! now take the rubberband off ur reel...i mean mono. braid w/ fluoro leader gives you great hook sets, sensitivity and durability.
  22. there was a great thread on this awhile back but i can't find it. not only did it mention size and color but guys said whether the tube head was hollow or had a solid tip. the solid tip ones work good for different applications. i deleted the thread b/c i just started pushing a 1/4" cut up senko into the head for the hook to 'bite' into.
