  1. very nice. when you get a chance feel free to text message me their GPS locations
  2. a large neighborhood woman was pregnant when i was a kid. i was excited b/c i knew she was having a boy which meant i had a new buddy to play with. she had 'ricky' and all went well. fast forward a year later when i exclaimed "Mrs. Smith are you pregnant again!?". excited for another play buddy. she wasn't pregnant. i still remember the silence in the room.
  3. yes. keep in mind.. many times it better to change ur retrieve (speed up, slow down, yo-yo, drag, hop, swim, dead stick) or location before changing the color of ur trailer. for the jig I like the eye to be recessed in the lead head. you can pull/rip them thru grass or algae on the bottom w/o collecting anything. some people call it their "swimjig". This is BOSS's:
  4. Good call. Over 1/3 of online "reviews" are marketing firms getting paid to advertise a product.
  5. i tried the one rod/lure method early on and found it to be unproductive for some specific reasons. you need to be in the right location (small pond, small lake, big lake environment), depth and time of year for specific lures. ie no point in burning a rattletrap in a shallow pond in the middle of august. senko's would be a better choice. you've just wasted a perfectly good day trying to force a trap on the fish. i found it better to study what 2-3 lures would be best for the conditions AND what gear to use. ie use much lighter line (6-8lb fluoro on spinning gear) in ultra clear/gin, pressured or unpressured water. after observing that modification you can test lighter, natural lures. no point in throwing a 3/4oz football jig on 50lb braid all day. just b/c you 'want to learn football jigs' doesn't mean the conditions are right or the fish 'want to eat it'. I've gone out with 3 baitcasters, 3/8-1/2oz dedicated lures to learn, 12-15lb fluoro. Been happy i "stuck to my plan" but only got 1-2 fish. Re-evaluated and gone back the next day with 3 spinning rods, weightless to 1/8oz lures, 6-10lb fluoro...and cleaned house. I realized it was more about reading the conditions than learning a lure.
  6. surprise: senko's. too many guys around me were killing it w/ them so bought a pack and have been hooked. disappointment: crankbaits. don't catch many fish for all the drama. you spend half the time tying different one's on to achieve the right depth to hit the ever changing bottom of lake...and spend other half of time trying to free the treble hooks from debris. a jig can do all of that and some.
  7. Of course everyone associates fall fishing with reaction baits. Problem is the bite can go stone cold during transition in unpressured water let alone hightly pressured. I'd go w/ smaller baits, lighter weights, soft plastics on the bottom, slower presentation (fish very slow but move often to cover fresh/new water), lighter line, spinning gear. good luck
  8. The HotTug is redneck perfect but will set ya back $10K How about his Personalized Action Hero? http://www.firebox.com/product/5300/Personalised-Superhero-Action-Figures?via=sfg
  9. ah thats a great tip mr scrogg. i might go the cheap route and cover alot more of my yak using Hodge Podge paste w/ a 10ft roll of black foam place mats. thanks for the idea!
  10. I'm not gonna laugh b/c it will be me next time.
  11. slow down..and then slow down some more. this was from another post i made on bank fishing this time of year: patients, soft plastics and fresh water. trying to get a bite this time of year can almost be painful but can still yield great results so stick with it. try dead sticking a 5" weightless senko (add light weight if ur in 10ft+ water)...wait 20-30 seconds...twitch/shake or drag once or twice (wacky rig is more for vertical bite/dead stick; t-rig drags easier). fan cast to a few good spots and if nothing relocate up shore to fresh water. you can fish soft plastic 'slow' by keeping them on the bottom and at the same time 'fast' by covering water/hiking. that combo gets me the best results. find the shore that has the closest access to deep water. you'll do much better accessing deep water from a kayak/canoe or boat. did you read this thread? http://www.bassresou.../page__hl__ ika good luck
  12. for me braid+FC is the best of all worlds. great sensitivity, low maintenance, multi-environment light jig rod. i fish straight 15lb braid if in stained water, around weeds/light cover, or unpressured waters. i use a 12lb FC leader in semi-clear to clear water, and unpressured waters. i use a 8lb FC leader for gin clear, no cover, and/or heavily pressured waters. and braid isn't as likely to get kinked or compromised like a spool of FC can so it lasts alot longer.
  13. I confirmed it with a 'resident plastics' guy at a BPS location. the new bags of worms are starting to come in skinny. he said corporate usually proudly announces any changes to their lines but he didn't hear anything about the senkos. that made him believe they are trying to fly under the radar w/ the change and save money.
  14. NJ and NY got crushed but some people were still out.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujxQFgCms1A
  15. x2 reaction baits w/ blades and rattles. try a cotton cordell gold rattletrap. sometimes i literally switch to chrome b/c they keep blasting it all day and i get tired of taking them off/nicking my line. if i was going to target them i would use yellow/chartreuse/gold colors

  17. lol in everyone's defense its not like we are talking about new york city. few people are from there and its a very small town. there aren't that many options.. let alone recommendations. i'm sure you'll have a great trip. are you gonna fish!?!
  18. I bought a bunch of their 6" worms and love the Okeechobee Magic b/c it is a monster worm EXACTLY like Yamamoto's 6". However the other 8 colors are all skinny. I don't know if the thick/monster style is their 'new' generation or 'old'. Does anyone know if they are switching to a thick worm? Or saving money and going skinny?
  19. LMAO I bet ur school teachers hated you Raider!
  20. do you like beer? http://ithacabeer.com/
  21. epic study goose. always a pleasure, thank you. i love my PQ's and now lubricate the brake drum thanks to you.
  22. i do but don't worry about the elements as much as theft b/c i live in the city. i have a cardboard tube thru trunk into cabin to slide all my rods into. people have no clue there are rods in my car. that being said...they don't spend too much time in my car. i bring them in to check them over, tie up leaders, tie on lures etc the night before an outing. it allows me to add 30 min more fishing time
  23. x2. i fish south jersey and the power bite is def not on yet. the last two weeks i've been dead sticking weightless 6" senkos with success but that is it. the fall bite should be on within the next two weeks. when it hits have fun and throw anything you want at them=spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, cranks, lipless traps, jerks, swim any jig etc. there have been alot of fronts moving thru. it was even tuff in the pocono mts last week. i couldn't get a deep bite to save my life. after 3 hrs of trying i'd take a 30min break and move shallow to weeds or skipping docks for dinks before going back deep for more punishment. i can't wait for the fall bite!!!
  24. x2. i had to return a micro rod b/c my connection knot (blood) wouldn't pass thru it. i use braid on all my reels w/ fluoro leaders when needed so "true' micro's are out of the question. i like the semi-micro's b/c as stated they foul less
  25. Its like they want people to quite their site. I love BR but I might cancel my membership if every time i logged in I got messages like: "You missed two frog hook sets today" "1 dink stole 2 senko's from you" "A 6lb pig inhaled and spit your jig and you didn't even know...sucker" Don't shame me Glenn!
