  1. C'mon CJ we are pullin away. A couple weeks ago we were tied with the reds now we got a 4.5g lead. Slowly slowly slowly pullin away.
  2. The Cards are just starting to pull away. 5.5 games over houston thats right houston, reds have really fallen. Surprise surprise griffey is injured.
  3. ^^^And that is who will be building the new one.
  4. Thats a good point and would be interesting to see. Or maybe he could do an Ankiel and go to the minors as an outfielder. He is a decent hitter. I think they should sit him for the rest of the year then next year put him back in the closers roll. If he fails, send him down to Springfield and try to become a starter. Or maybe try it in spring training.
  5. O wait your right muddy, i ment old. GOOD NEWS>>>>Izzy out and expected to miss at least 2 weeks. Wainwright and Looper are the new closers. YAY!!! On sports center they said when izzy comes back he might not be a closer anymore.
  6. They're tearing down all the great stadiums Shea, Yankee, Busch,...
  7. Sounds like jail.
  8. Fish Chris's Bass ate my top 3.
  9. I think i have found Izzy's problem. He tries to strike out every batter by making every pitch a perfect pitch. In these perfect pitches, he tries to get guys to chase which they lay off because they know cutter=off the plate=ball. He ends up getting behind the batter and either walks them (if no one is on) or hangs a pitch to go yard(if they can hit a gw hr he will hang a pitch ex. Carlos Beltran). Or the dude is just messed up. PUT WAINWRIGHT IN!!!
  10. Annibal Sanchez threw a no-hitter for the Marlins. Its about time, it seems like ever since anthony reyes threw a no hitter into the 8th against the white sox a lot of pitchers have been throwing no-nos deep into games but no one has finished them. That one guy threw a no hitter into the ninth against the cards this weekend and finally Annibal did it. Congrats to him and the Marlins for being over .500 and 2.5 gb in the wild card. That is amazing with the guys that are on that team. Run-away manager of the year... Joe Girardi.
  11. OHHHH MAN!! Dang it IZZY. Cards score 2 in the top of the 9th to take the lead but guess who blows it in the bottom of the ninth. None other than MR JASON ISRINGHAUSEN. I HATE JASON ISRINGHAUSEN!! Post a Smiley if you got that. > >
  12. The AL MVP is a very close one because the best contenders are different players. Mauer is the batting champ, Papi is the HR/ clutch player, and Jeter is the leader. I really would be happy with any of those guys winning. I dont even know who is going to win it. Papi probably would have the best overall numbers but the Sox dont look like they are going to be in the playoffs this year and he had that problem this week but it was only a couple of games. Mauer has the Ba but not the RBI. For a catcher that BA is amazing. He is probably the best offensive catcher in the bigs now. Jeter is having one of his best seasons of his career offensively and has done a good job bringing those superstars together even through the injuries. (IDK why my other post was delted but ok whatever this is my 500th post)
  13. Unfortunately the Cards game wasnt on at my house tonight when i was looking for it.
  14. Solid game by the Cards. A 0ER for Soup and another Pujols HR. I think Albert wants to catch Howard in HRs or something. 5HRs in September already. Keep it up. We had a 6 game lead over the reds coming into the game. Which brings our magic number to... 19. And the mets to... 11.
  15. Yeah, I give it till next spawn when the record is going down.
  16. Def. a good idea. I dont really like wearing sunglasses and the only time i do is doing yard work (edging especially) and fishing. I wear my polarized sunglasses everytime i go out because I am scared of something like what Raul showed would happen. Plus, they help see in the water better. I recently got my friend to wear 'em to. Everytime i get a lure stuck in a tree i pull hard and turn my head. There's two places where I really really dont want to get hooked, one is my eyes and the other i dont really have to worry about getting hooked. That has to do with a whole 'nother kind of protection.
  17. If there were byes to the WS then the cards would have been in the last 2 and won them both. Instead, the hot wild card team beats them instead of the dominated over the season.
  18. Because they are taking drug tests. I know they could be getting around them but then again you cant prove anything. I think a pill or a syringe (like the one thrown at Barry earlier this year) would be even better. They could put Pete Rose in the hall and just put a $ by his name.
  19. Yeah, HRs arent everything because when Big Mac hit 70 he didnt win the MVP. I would love for Howard or albert to hit at least 60HR one of these days because to me that would really be the record. Bonds 73* Mcgwire 70* Sosa 66* Mcgwire 65* Sosa 64* Sosa 63* Maris 61 Ruth 60 And everyone from now on no * unless a failed drug test.
  20. Howard is a beast. I'm startin to think his numbers might be good enough to when the mvp despite being on a mediocre team. If he were to help the Phils win the wild card he would definitely be my MVP. This guy could hit 60 HRs this year!! He would join Ruth, Maris, McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds. He would be the only modern day hitter to do it and would have no steroid talk around him (makes you wonder if this would be a big deal without steroids). He also won the Hr derby. So much for that theory of the home run derby ruining the rest of your year.
  21. The Rockies have only had one starter to have a season era under 4.00. It was Joe Kennedy 3.66. It is very tough to pitch there Although Mike Hampton did have 7hr in a season as a pitcher their so it evens out.
  22. Yeah i think they will give mulder one more shot and since it is september call ups Anthony Reyes will get another shot. I think Reyes will take Mulder's job for the playoffs. Wow, the Cards really need a number 2 starter. Not looking to good.
  23. The Rockies are bad but they've got a couple good young players like matt holiday and jeff francis. Francis had a great start against the Cards a couple weeks ago and beat the mets last night. I can remember when the cards used to win every game like muddy's mets. Oh good times.
  24. GMAN is right, and our pitching will peak in the playoffs. Jeff Weaver will become the Jeff Weaver of old, Jason Isringhausen will be the '04 IZZY, Mulder will be the A's Mulder, and Anthony Reyes will be the one-hitter against the White Sox ace. Well i hope that happens. Oh no IZZY is coming in :o Please dont blow this 7 run lead.
