Id take a pixy/px-r all day long over any of the ss platforms. Dont get me wrong, the sv spools are sweet, but the reels feel like a cheap plastic zaion version of a steez. The pixy is a way more solid reel. On the other hand, a td-z/steez with sv spool is pretty amazing...

Id look for a used avid or cumara.

2oz is the heaviest I'd throw on that rod. Really not that bad of a rod for the money...

Sniper would be my recommendation...

As a braid/fluoro leader guy, I've mostly converted to straight 6-8lb copolys and like that the best right now for finesse fishing.

I've been using 7lb sniper on my bfs reels. Really like it except for tying knots, it's a little tough but sensitivity is great.

Great deal on a great reel, even better buy the gift card for 10% off and get the reel for $270 Had to stop myself from getting one, ive had 3 or four now. If i wasnt on such a tight budget i would of probally grabbed one.

I mainly finesse fish with casting gear, but if I had to pick one line, it would be a toss up between yozuri hybrid, maxima ultragreen, and pline floroclear. All in the 6-8lb range...

I agree with Tony ^ Both reels are so similar and same gear ratio so id just use the one that feels better to you for the techniques you fish more...

If your not doing the clicker conversion then theres really no reason to switch out stars unless you just want a different look/color. Hedgehog has nice stars but there expensive, japan tackle has the alphas r star that i believe will fit...
