For the record I fish rivers and streams i will just have to give the panther martins another try

I don't know what it is but I never have good luck with Panther Martin's I use almost every other brand of inline spinners guess I will have to give these a try again I will just have to leave all my other spinners at the house

you can also make them out of pvc pipe as well baits don't get hung up as easily and they last longer just scuff the pipe up and algae will grow on it starting the cycle of life

countdown rapalas work well as well trout magnets bounced off the bottom or under a float live minnows outside of fly fishing I prefer spinners as my go to bait there is one called a spin-e-miny they are deadly but they do not hold up for more then 5 or 6 fish mepps comets work as well

Welcome I used to live in Mexico but a totally different part. Where I lived the cops could stop you for no reason and be prepared to pay them off even if you did nothing wrong. I never ran afoul but several people I know did. The people and the food is awesome for the most part.

It is getting this way for all of sports. They are pricing the average fan out of the game. I used to have season tickets to WVU for many years and the same thing happened. Prices kept going up. Then about ten years ago it got to the point that every game was on TV somewhere. With the newer HD tv's it is just easier to stay home have some friends over drink some beer and watch the game.

The same lures work for both species Smallies in river systems relate much different to current then largemouths they spend more time in current and therefore I think that makes them fight harder

Follow up to the story. My buddy called and talked to the owner. Turns out the manager's old lady's mom just died. He was having a crappy day. The owner invited me out with the manager. We had a round of beers, he apologized and all is forgiven. Turns out the bread that they got that day was from a different driver. I guess the bread company is supposed to inspect the bread. Now we are all going on a fishing trip together. God Bless Moldy Buns

I understand but having been in the restaurant business before chances are the cook or the waitress will be fired before the manager. I called my buddy that eats there on a regular basis and has the ear of the owner and he will give the owner the true story in a manner more befitting than my filing a formal complaint. Like I said the manager might have been having a bad day. I would hate to get someone canned over this. I will let me buddy talk to the owner if there have been other problems then that is up to the owner of the establishment. I know that I have had bad days and would not want people to judge me on those days. The sad thing is it is actually on the owner. It is his job to make sure that he is serving the best products.

Nice catch on the role I am not going to stir the pot anymore Who knows if the guy was just having a bad day At least this guy is working. If he is truly bad at his job that is up to the owner to decide.

So i sit down and order a burger and fries along with a nice cold beer. I drink my beer as I wait on my food. When the food arrives the waitress asked if I would like another beer and I said yes and that I need Ketchup for the fries. A minute later she comes back to with beer and ketchup in tow. I pour my ketchup and eat a couple of fries then go to eat my burger. I lift it up and there is mold all over the bun. I flag down the waitress whom was extremely apologetic. She says that she will get the manager, He comes over and was a Richard. He said that he would get me another burger. I said thanks but lost my appetite. Then he goes well, I will just charge you for the two beers as I need the table. They were busy no doubt but that just sent me into orbit. I did not go full Raider on that guy but I wanted to. Needless to say I will not be going back there and half of the people waiting in line turned and left as well. Whatever happened to pride in this country. I worked some really crappy jobs in my life to put myself through college. One thing that I always did though was do the job to the best of my ability. I remember growing up in the country one day and the local trash guy was on his routine. I made a comment that he should have studied harder in school. My dad got so mad. He told me to never put down a man making an honest living. I lived 1.6 miles out the road. We pull in the driveway and he tells me to wait in the truck. He comes back out with two contractor bags. He drives me back to the beginning of the road hands me the bags and says pick up every piece of trash in the two ditches both sides of the road all the way to house. He told me not to miss a piece of litter. Well I did and dad went and walked the road and he did not find any trash. When he came back he actually hugged me and said that he was proud of me. I was an honor roll student every semester that I was in school and I never saw more dad more proud. Back to the original story How do you not see a gosh darn green bun, End Rant

I know this sounds bad. But sometimes I take only baits that I have not fished or had success with me fishing. This forces me to use these baits. If I have my old reliables with me I think that I give up on baits too easy. Also when the bite is hot I will usually try something new. This actually helped me greatly in the pass. I was fishing on Lake Erie one day and we were catching fish every other cast in 25 foot of water. I went to throw a spinner bait and was not paying attention and ended up with a birdsnest. Well i fixed it and went to reel it in but it was stuck on the bottom after a few jerks it free and then bam a giant smallie crushed it. After that I started bouncing spinner baits off the bottom. They ended up producing the biggest fish of the day. After that it is now one of my go to techniques.
