Man the smallmouth love those things. I remember when they first started hitting up there. God the smallmouth turned into footballs.

I was lucky enough when I was a kid to have people show me what to use and how to use it. They would let me use their baits and if I liked it would go buy my own. Now that I have my own stuff and make enough money I have no problem giving my baits away. Hell I would lose them eventually anyway. I get more pleasure out of people catching fish and learning to love the sport that I have loved for 30 years now than I do catching them myself. Hopefully my friends that I have taught to fish will one day teach their kids how to fish and so on. To me its worth a few lost lures.

Craziest thing that I have ever caught ended up busting my nose, blacking my eye and knocking me in the river. For when I was 12 years old I wound up for a big cast and little did I know my brother had walked behind me. I cast so hard that the hook actually broke off in his hand. After he beat the crap out of me and threw me off the dock. He helped me get back on the dock and I in return help do hook removal. When we went home I walk in with a swollen nose and a shiner soak and wet, my brother walks in with a bandage on his hand. Dad asked " How was fishing" " we both say good" He looks at us and says get cleaned up before your mom gets home. Miss the days of when boys could boys

if you are bored not catching bass catch live bait learn to catch grasshoppers, crickets, worms and crayfish watching live bait will help you learn how to fish artificial baits as well

The local that I fished we finished in the money 9 out of 10 times. However unless we won or finished 2nd and the big bass by the time we paid entry fees and fuel for the boat we mostly broke even. These were just single evening 4 hour tournaments. However it was just great to be around people that have the same love and passion that my fishing partner and I had.

This thread reminds me of the first time I ever bought these baits. I was at a little mom and pop shop down in KY and say the beaver style baits. They looked good so I picked up four or five packs in different colors. So we are out on Lake Erie a few months later and the tubes were not working so I throw on one of the baits. First cast boom a nice football. Second cast another one. My father-in-law who I had only fished with one other time says throw me one of those. He puts one on and starts catching them as well. I did not think anything of it. Well he starts looking at the package and says that he wants to stop and get some on the way back to his house. He asked me if I thought Dick's had any Dirty Sanchez's. I d**n near fell out of the boat. Then I look at the package.

I drove two times to florida and back in the last six months. Almost everytime I was involved in an accident it was always someone talking on the phone. Mythbusters did a show on this and legally drunk drivers did better on traffic course then people talking on the phone.
