  1. Picked up the pins minnow you recommeded this morning. Are you fishing it more as a jerkbait or cast out let sink to depth and retrieve or just let the fish tell you what they want. Picked up some gulp shrimp as well. Going to go hit the water here about 30 minutes. Will be wading the flats on the back side of Gaspirlla island.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I was throwing my x-rap and pointer. I do have some Pins will give them a try. It was a bad today nobody was really catching anything. Saw at least a 30 inch snook come up and take a swipe at my buddies fluke but missed it. Saw a bunch of fish they were just not in the feeding mood.
  3. on here that fish. I moved down here and just started fishing for snook, snappers and trout. I was just wondering if any of you guys had tips that you would care to share. I am mainly fishing from shore but I can wade out to about 50 yards. Today I was throwing jerkbaits. Had a few strikes but not much. I will be fishing from Venice all the way down to Boca Grand. Thanks in advance to any advice you could give.

  8. Enjoy your time at college. I know I did. I will say this however, go to class and go to learn. Wish sometimes I would have spent more time learning than just cramming for tests and then forgetting everything the minute I handed in my test. Be careful not to run up a bunch of debt. It is easy to rack up hundreds of dollars by going out to bars and putting it on a credit card. The best advice I can give you is to take care of your credit. Once it goes south it is a pain to get back.
  9. To be honest it has been years since I was up there. There is a boy scout up there that we used to park at. All I know is that anywhere from where interstate 90 crosses all the way to Lake Erie is good. However at some point it turns into Pennsylvania. I will do some research and get back to you. If you get on google earth you can find access to the creek starting at lake erie and I was wrong it turns into Pennsylvania a long way from where you want to be fishing I have always had luck with in-line spinners and floating jerkbaits in 3 inch models for both smallmouth and steelhead the stream is nice and you can wade pretty much all of it with pockets that have deeper holes
  10. I am assuming that you are fishing the Mon below the d**n I went trout drinking yesterday had a great time
  11. If you are up that way ever again give Conneaut creek a try it is about 40 miles east smaller stream but big fish and very few anglers also one of the best smallmouth streams that I have fished I have caught dozens of smallies over 4 pounds in that stream

  13. Nope only allowed to have 12 at one time. A guy that we know got caught with a freezer full as he was saving up for a family fish fry and he was fined thousands of dollars.
  14. Rooster tails rebel grasshopper float and fly is a good technique as well
  15. wow thanks for digging into that In my state unless prohibited 6 trout may be taken daily 365 however one is not allowed to have more than 12 at any one time so basically no stocking up for fish fry's I was just wondering if the closed season was for breeding season or so the young trout have time to get bigger Good luck this April
  16. I have never heard of there being a season on trout. My state it is legal year round. Is there a reason that they do seasons.
  17. As many on here know that I posted about my Dad dying 5 years ago and then shortly after my mom being diagnosed with cancer. As some will recall I moved back home to take care of her as nobody in my family was capable of doing. Well today I just got the news that she is now cancer free. I just wanted to say thank you for all of the kind words over the years or silent prayers that you have may have said for her and me. I am lucky that I just bought a new place in Florida in the Englewood area that has it's own fishing pier. So for anyone that it is interested in fishing in that area let me know and we can have a beer or soda and do some fishing. Thanks again to the bassresource community.
