  1. I live just outside of Marietta I have property in WV if you want to do some trout fishing this spring let me know
  2. I was just getting ready to post hula popper and jitterbug one that I have not seen mentioned is the rooster tail spinners used to kill the smallies
  3. For the most part most of the water I fish is very secluded and the guys that I fish are like me. We all carry trash bags with us and pick up our trash as well as others that we see. I think that it is a matter of taken pride in ones self. How does a person expect to get respect when they don't respect themselves and nature around them.
  4. He was actually in line to go to WVU. He would have been there after Jerry West. At one time WVU was a power in basketball it would have been interesting to see of Pete could have continued the tradition.
  5. If you do get another rod you might want to look into an 8 or 7 foot rod look up dapping a long rod is essential to that many of trout are caught using this technique
  6. don't be afraid to try some of the crazier colors. hot pink killed the brookies this year for me
  7. I know it sounds stupid but get yourself some trout magnets you can catch all of the trout species plus the panfish and others as well
  8. I know I was just making a joke I love all types of fish actually like the fishy ones better
  9. I never understood people that wanted to eat fish that didn't taste fishy. To me that is like me saying I want my ribeye to taste less like cow.
  10. Needs to be at least 8 teams
  11. Bagley Bang o lure in the three inch variety they were killer in the three inch for smallies on some of the streams that I used to fish
  12. Thanks Glenn and Happy Thanksgiving to all be safe and be fat
  13. My old man was my best friend and fishing buddy he passed away 6 years ago. He always was laid back but always seemed tired as well. I never knew why as I was too busy with my life that I just did not pay attention. Since he has passed, anytime something breaks family and friends call me, anytime something needs built they call me, something needs moved, someone needs to go out have a beer and vent. I just never realized how many people depended on my dad even if it were for the littlest things. When I was younger I would here strangers, friends and family tell me that I remind them so much of my father. It used to tick me off because I was a punk kid that knew everything in the world. I thought he was punishing me as a kid when a friends hot water tank would break and we would go sweat in new copper lines and hook up the new one, or put in a garbage disposal for the old lady down the road. Now I know that Dad was just training me to be a man and a kind one at that. Some of the greatest lessons that we learn we don't even know that we are being taught. Now when someone says that I remind them of my dad, I get tears in my eyes and say thank you. That is the nicest thing that anyone can say to me.
  14. I think that there needs to be bifurcation. They need to determine intent to see what the penalty is going to be. Throwing a player out of the game for making a good tackle when the ball carrier is the one that ducks into it is absurd.
  15. There has been no flow on the ohio the last few months as there has been no rain The ohio is basically a series of 20 mile lakes There is always some current but not much at all some times
  16. My dad bought his first airplane the day I was born. By the time I was eight I was manning the controls in the air. I was taking off and landing by the time I was 12. We used to fly two times a week at a minimum for 15 years. Commercial I am probably over 100 don't know for sure.
  17. the float and fly technique is killer in the winter time
  18. I will be in morgantown this weekend for the game. Wait until next year when you can get your own place. There are so many great smallmouth and trout streams within a couple hours of Morgantown. Another great bait when they are hitting on top like that is a pencil style bait popper.
  19. mrmacwvu1 replied to Glenn's topic in Everything Else
    Raider is actually Asian
  20. First off I would like to thank you. You are at least trying to do things in the right order. My buddy bought a 30 thousand dollar boat with no way to tow it. The only way he could use it was when me or my buddies would take our trucks and take him fishing. To think if he would have just bought a 10 thousand dollar boat and 20 thousand dollar boat he could have fished whenever he wanted.
  21. I fished with a guy in a tourney a few years ago that posts here but for the life of me I can't remember his name.
  22. Sorry for your loss. Remember the good times and smile as the there will be tears. One day the smiles will come more then tears. Good Luck to you and yours and prayers will be said.
  23. It is still sad sometimes But now when I think of him I mostly smile. I am so thankful for everything that I learned from him. I now am passing them down to another generation.
  24. I lost my best friend and father. He was the one who taught me how to fish, how to hunt and how to love. Still think of him everyday. So if you are having a beer later raise your glass and have a drink for the old man. The world is worse off now that he is gone but heaven got a little better.
