Tying Braid Directly To Spool On Baitcaster??
Uni to Uni. Its a "big" knot, but it easy to tie and strong. It will be "burried" anyway, so no need to fret. I also use the modified Albright for some applications. Its a very "thin" and strong knot, but can be tricky to tie (cinch down) in some case.

Tying Braid Directly To Spool On Baitcaster??
Electrical tape, masking tape, flex wrap, will all work fine. I use about ten - 20 cranks of monofilament.

Buffs
Crucial! I wear both the neck buff and the long sleeve UPF.

Braid Freezing?
Holler if you hear me! It's 85 degrees here right now in So Cal at 6:05 PM, calling for a high in the 90's tomorrow. My hats off to you guys for fishing in those conditions. Frost bite vs. heat stroke! If you do fish tomorrow I hope you catch your personal best!

Carolina Rigging
I use a 7:1 with a M/H or H rod. I like 7' rods for most applications including the C Rig.

White Soft Plastics

Spinnerbait Trailers
Paddle tails are what I would reconmend. I use a swimbait (paddletail) for a larger profile.

What's This New Rig Called The Drop Shot?
In my opinion, it is the most productive technique out here in the clear western reservoirs. I became so reliant upon it I sold the reel off my drop shot rod to stop using it as a crutch! Haha. I still kept the rod; it was to sweet too get rid of! I still do drop shot, just not quite as much which is good and bad. The drop shot does catch big fish. It can also lose them as well on that light line. It will definitely put some numbers in the boat and get a skunk off the boat. Sam posted quite a bit of good info and like others said it's not just a vertical presentation, it's just my favorite vertical presentation. As far as weights go I like the ball and pencil style. 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz. are all I use. Anything lighter or heavier usually calls for a different technique. Leader length varies between 6" to about 18" give or take. It varies mostly due to bottom composition. As far as the retrieve goes, less is more for me. In all seriousness this technique might be the biggest test of patience for me in all of bass fishing. I will literally sit there and test myself on just how long I can go without moving it! Believe me, everything going on underneath in the lake is more than enough to impart action on a bait.

Best Bang For Your Buck Spinning Reel
My father has several Pflueger spinning reels and he absolutely loves them! I have fished them a couple of times and they seem solid. I fish bait casters the bulk of my time by use a Stradic for my light line duties.

Lost Equipment
Yeah, the Calcutta and Lowrider stung quite a bit! I probably catsted that combo less than a dozen times! Good grief!

Lost Equipment
No need to worry, it is rather uncommon. I've kayaked hundreds of times and only had the two incidents. Thats two more than I would like, but i'm safe and thats all that matters. The first one was similar to Buzzed Baits situation of hooking and casting a combo off the yak fishing a local reservoir. I tried to grab it from the water (instead of netting it like I should have) and lost my balance. The second time I was fishing a blind bluff corner in one of our local saltwater bays and the U.S. Navy was running some exercize drills in thier gunboats which came screaming behind me. By the time I saw what had happened it was to late. I took a large wave over the bow of the yak and into the drink I went. Lessons learned. Be aware of your situation at all times just like in boat or float tube. Stay safe out there!

Lost Equipment
I have to come clean about this, maybe after getting it off my chest I will feel better about it. I have "rolled" my kayak twice. First round about $150 worth of misc. gear. The second time stung much worse. A brand new Calcutta 200B paired on a brand new Falcon Lowrider CB Rod. Ouch! At least I am safe and thats all that matters. I know people have lost much more. It's all material possesions anyway. Stay Safe brothers!

- Last Chance! New G. Loomis E6X Rod Giveaway!
I'm in the market for one or two of these rods. I just entered. Thank you! PS - If anyone picks up either one of the Flippin' N' Pitchn' sticks or the two of the heavier Crankbait rods a review in the proper Rod and Reel section would be much appreciated!- Outside Of The Box Dropshot.
I have never fish a drop shot rig with a fly for bass, but I have for other species. A buddy of mine and myself will do a back-country hike a couple times a year and fish the natural flowing creeks for sunfish and rock bass. We have found drop shotting a fly on an ultra light setup to be deadly for this.- Black & Blue
This. I always have a jig tied on and these two colors along with some version of green are about all I throw. I tie my own skirts and will incorporate some other "highlight" colors in with the skirts, but these three "base" colors produce the best for me.- Why So Many Setups And Tackle
Preach it brother! The T-Rig and the Jig are my bread and butter.- Single Or Double Sd Jam Knot ?
Single always. I use the SD Jam knot 99% of the time. Palomar for the drop-shot. Really the only need for a double is when fishing large pound test for big game fish.- Killing The Wintertime Boredom.
I about lost it the first time I saw that comercial!- Structure/cover
