  1. Depends what species and what state. Cane toads are considered invasive here in FL....Besides he is in Mexico, US laws need not apply. lol
  2. So is was thinking fork from the slot regs....I use this link http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/catchrelease/bass_length_weight.phtmlwhich doesnt really explain how to measure properly.
  3. I believe the calculators are this length ^^^.... lip to fork. I know in the bragging rights thread everyone is measuring tip, but the technical measurement of length is to the fork. That will cut 2-3" off of the length of the fish.
  4. That Quantum is on sale as close out and I read some decent reviews on it. You can get them for around 100 bucks, I just picked up an Energy bait caster myself for that price. Or check out the new mitchell 300 pros they have a write up on tackletour. They go for 70 bucks and look sweet, supposed to perform sweet too.
  5. So how you get the gator off man, you wrestle it and get your frog back LOL
  6. Right wasn't he the one saying "as long as people catch fish I am happy it doesn't have to be me" LOL
  7. I am heading out early tomorrow. Man I was up early but been working like a dog, have a submittal. Got the jitterbug since I haven't thrown that in a while, a texas rigged brush hog and a centipede on a split shot rig or switch it up to wacky or weightless if need be.
  8. For a family of six(one is a new born) we spend 100 per week but we eat 2-3 meals out and sunday night with my folks. If you would count that, I would say 150-200 a week. And that is not just food, that includes cleaning stuff, storage bags etc. a normal trip to the grocery store. Buying sale items and and store brand help.
  9. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/ryan-braun-suspended-65-games-2013-season-ped-use-biogenesis-twitter-reaction-athletes-celebrities-fans-072213 Love the last two tweets LOL
  10. ^^This, never forget it.....Love him back and you will be blessed infinitely.
  11. Well Braun is down how many more to go?!?! I made the nessecary waiver wire aquisitions, only have 1 named player on both my teams. You all think fallout from this will help clean up the game? shape the playoffs? If texas loses Cruz that will be a blow to them. What your thoughts on Chris Davis he swears he is clean, the only two guys I believe are Fielder and Miggy because they look like they never hit a gym before and they have produced since day one. Davis scares me a bit, I want to believe in him but I know from Palmero that you cannot trust anyone. Let's just say I am not willing to bet my salary on that. LOL
  12. Try talking to bamabassmaster, I dunno if he has been on lately, but in the spring he fished there a few times a month. Flukes did him well then. Haven't really seen anyother members post too much up about it. Here ya go. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/86170-jacksonville-fl-small-lakes/?p=1246443 also Bassbuckets fished there too, try hitting them up too.
  13. Well that is good to know I will be keeping recipts for all my rod and reel purchases from now on.
  14. How much did that fish weigh?....Dang dude I would tried to get Pflueger to warranty that stuff. Man I fell in my garage on my templar and that thing held up. How much u pay for that Orra? Just an FYI if academy will price match they are online for $80.
  15. Joe if you want a really good mono Sufix Siege or Berkley Big Game are the two toughest IMO. I use sufix and it is great and my buddy likes the Big Game very much.
  16. Well I will take the good with the bad. Good I got 7 fish in just over an hour. The bad is none were bigger than 15". But is was fun, good way to start the week. First one was on a PB&J xfactor stick bait from Gander. next was on a baby bass fluke. Tore the nose so I just nose hooked it, never have before, and the action was great. I think I read it from a Jfranco post. But that landed me 2 more including the biggest. I went back to the stick wacky rigged and got three more decent fish. It was the xfactor wacky stick with the O ring in them, nice kept the bait together after 3 fish, the first one woulda ripped it in half. Not bad for 3 bucks off the sale rack.
  17. I think that is what will get you most times. But it doesn't stop people, I see people jsut pull up to these nice ponds off I95 at the world of golf and have at it. There are a couple spots locally here where you can park and walk and sidewalks next to the ponds, I have seen people fishing those.
  18. Great fish Lou ! If y'all let me count the one I didn't get a pic I am at 33". Lol going to give a run this week. Take a simple approach, senkos and flukes. Sucks you lost the spot, I lost one of my better ones recently too. I agree, not worth any trouble. There are plenty of spots I will move down the road and fish on! Good luck to all of y'all as we close out July, full moon week I should be at full strength! Lol
  19. I have just recently been fishing lipless a lot, they are great. But I wrecked one and snagged another like you. But I like fishing them they catch fish for sure.
  20. I have read some good things about the new Mitchell 300 pro introduced at icast. They say for the $70 you get a reel way better than the price tag.....maybe not RW's stella quality. lol My buddy has a older Mitchell spinning reel it does as well as his similar priced shimano sienna. But for that kinda money it is gonna be hard not to go with a pflueger for me personally.
  21. Nice job! That Pleco is big, not your pets store size. Lol
  22. Looking at powell diesel, loomis and shimano all their designated spinner bait rods are xf....st criox are fast...and take falcon for another example theirs are mod or mod fast. Is one really better than the other for a reason or is it just preference?
  23. I personally fish with mono a lot and have felt your pain on ocassion. Here is my opinion, option one, throw topwater on the spinning and ditch the mono and go braid or flouro(flouro sinks not good for topwater) on the baitcaster. Or option two braid with a mono leader when you fish topwater. Tying leaders is not that bad, I wasn't sure about it when I started using braid on my one setup. IMO tying a leader is alot easier than tying braid to lures. I would only tie braid straight to a jig personally. Last option is avoid it, there are places I would fish but I know I just don't have the right gear. It is better than breaking off losing a lure and having a fish swimming around with one hanging out of its mouth. If the weeds are that bad, I would go with at least 30# braid or more therefore why I wouldn't up to a higher rated mono.
  24. Yes I have read more than a few posts of the guys down there fishing the turnpike ponds. I have seen people up here pull over and fish them too. Things to consider, the pond is likely tied to the canal either with culvert pipes or a control structure. If it is pipes then the fish/animals can swim freely, so are there fish in that canal across the road? Looking at street view there are two culverts and different locations so that is a good sign. I would start by the brush/reeds corner by the bridge, and work around the culvert pipes/end walls. Work around the pond and then lastly I work the deepest part (middle) with a texas rig or something. Nice thing about small ponds like that is you can work the entire thing.
  25. yeah that is all you. It is a lot, Gee and Wheeler aren't half bad, if you don't need saves then I would consider it, I think both them guys could win 7 a piece the second half
