Looking good Czar Went out this morning from 6:40 to 7:40 missed a couple little ones on a live target mouse. The hydrilla at this one pond just BLEW UP! killing me and my texas rigs.(It is funny to see the ponds around here, no carp, some carp and too many carp and they all fish different) Have to try some other spots with carp. Friday might be my next chance.

I hope Hammels, Kendrick and Lee can pull them together. They are better than the stinking Braves! On a side note did you see Dutch Dalton had surgery for brain tumors? Sad man, supposed to be a successful surgery. Prayers for him. He was a good guy. Him and Wild Thing lol the Mullets LIVE! LOL

Feldman and some guy to the O's and Arrieta and Strop to the Cubbies. I like Arrieta, he could strike em out, he could also walk em too. I remeber one of my last O's games a 10 K 2 run performance agdinst thr yanks that went extra innings. Two of my buddies use Quantums, they have nothing but good to say. If I had the scratch I would have bought that deal. My first BC reel will be a Quantum most likely though. Only difference in 25 to 30 is it is a slightly larger reel, little more wieght, little more line capacity and little more drag. According to TW it is .5 ounces heavier and it is 10/150 for line versus 8/150 for the 25 size

X2 I like fishing with a little reason behind it. Plus like others said it makes for good conversation on tactics and tips.I am in for what it is worth. Been getting a 30 minute breaks from diaper duty LOL The problem is, I like to hit the water at 5:30 6 am and I am only getting to leave the house a little early putting me at my spots around 7 am. Waaay to late IMO. Should be a challege for me to figure it out. Oh and Congrats AK! it was your month!

I go bigger with my reels and most, guess the shimano guys just have small hands , I use a 35 or 40 size reel It lets me put 8 -10 # line on no problem. Alot of the finesse folks will use a 25 size and run 6 or 8 # line. Weight really doesn't seem to make a difference and I can take my 40 size out and fish inshore too. I have seen some good things about the Field and Stream rods at Dicks. But I don't know much about them. And then there is the Fenwick GT which are decent.

You will love the Pfleuger, I have 3 including 1 president. They are the best for the money. Rods, I would probably go with a Powell Diesel in that price range. It is 69.99...if you can spend the 10-20 extra do it. The powell would be really good for the plastics you like to fish. There are some 4th July sales, Tackle Warehouse is 15% off so it might fit your budget.

Yeah I was throwing some craws this morning, went too late but hey only time I could. I will try the lizards, was doing well on 7 and 10 in ribbon tails but got that only big one for june on a baby brush hog all on a t-rig, didnt do to bad the couple times out with the rattle trap last week. I might try some smaller ponds too so I can cast the deeper parts.

Owner makes the wounded minnow, looks very similar and why i thought of it, and a couple other soft minnow baits that may work for you they are $5 to $7 a 6 pack.

I like to use mono, especially with the hula popper, spook and dog you picked up. when they hit it gives a little stretch and doesn't rip the out of their mouth like a stiffer line. It also stays on top of the water better.

I use all spinning, I fish how I like and have fun Don't worry about it, do what you like and catch fish. There are pros and cons to both types of reels. One isn't better than the other it is all personal preference.

Yeah couple folks had been taking turns keeping hart on the DL but as news got worse and worse he finally got dropped lol. Sad to hear he was a good player and the crew needs him not sure u can live and compete with a poor mans Carlos Pena in Francisco. What happen to Gammel he is still hurt? Hart is probably goning to land a 1 yr on the cheap or re-sign if the crew thinks he has something left. but i would be surprise if he didnt quietly have a good yr for who ever. An ugly stick spinning rod makes an affordable and very effective topwater and jerkbait rod. Personally don't like the weight but can't beat the action in the tip and you can get that weight going in a rythm n walk the dog all day long

For walking lures don't overlook the rebel jumpin minnow. I personally find that it casts farther and is easier to walk than the spook. Bone and black/silver are the two colors that are the most versatile. There are also plastic options for top water, horny toads, rage toads, vibe worms are effective weed less buzz type baits. Wake baits like the bandit footloose, norman fat boy, ima roumba Prop baits are cool and fun like the lucky craft Kelly J, splash tail or smithwick devil horse.
