I would say I fish a lot of worms and can generally agree with you but add a couple colors/situations Clearer bright sunny days do I choose a more natural color? (Greens / Browns / Black) natural bait fish/shad colors, white, grey, silver and gold flakes Cloudy and mornings/evenings days do I try to throw something bright like (Merthiolate. bubble gum, chartreuse, etc.) black and junebug I also personally find that Junebug even on clear days for clear to slightly staind water works....same with red shad.

X2 I have no issues with the slack line or getting proper action from lures. To me the key is the rod if you have a softer tipped glass rod you don't need as much slack in your line versus a graphite type rod and a better action in general with the lure. However I do consider getting a bait casting combo for this purpose because the reel being under the rod sometimes hits my leg/gets in the way and the balance of having a smaller light mass closer to the rod may make it easier. But I think this particular question is more of preference, comfort and proficiency with the gear selected.

Yes but none of these on the link are from their Shashimi freshwater series, Duel also offers a nice freshwater series. I have to second what powerduster said, most places only sell the saltwater series baits which sometimes have limited fresh water color choices. I am sure some of these will work in freshwater but they have dedicated freshwater series that are diffcult to find, which would explain why most bass fishermen don't use them. Most bass fisherman don't troll through to the saltwater section for their hardbaits...Am I right? They have really nice baits, the one my buudy has and the ones I have seen are great, but it is too bad the freshwater baits are not more available/known.
