  1. What type of bait are you trying to throw on it?
  2. Anytime man, stick around there is lots of good info here, and quite a few members in your area too. Yes LOL
  3. That is not too shabby, I am lucky if my wife lets me keep 50 bucks outta my paychecks every two weeks
  4. Yeah the lighter weigh might help that. Also once the cool weather sets in some or most of the algea will die off. So fall, winter and spring you should have an easier time. It is typical though. Sometimes jerking it free helps getting it through the weeds algea free and then letting it sit for a 30 seconds will get you bit.
  5. I agree with speed, you got a nice selection. Only thing I will mention is a smaller bullet weight like 1/16 oz. paired up with the fat baby finesse or the power worms will make a deadly texas rig. The light weight helps get it down but allows you to get movement going without imparting a lot of movement on your part. You can drag and slowly swim it easy and it doenst pull up as much junk as a heavier weight. I would save the 1/4 oz for rodents or windy days.
  6. Welocme I used to live in St. Pete. Go Bucs
  7. Hillsborough River, Lake Tarpon, Bradenton river are the biggest fisheries. But if you probably try all the little lakes and ponds in North Dale or Carrolwood, Lutz. I didn't fish much when I lived in St. Pete. There are few folks on here from that area, I know they fish the hillsborough and one fishes tarpon
  8. Thing I think is funny is half these teams in the lowest revenue catagory are some of the more competitive teams, Rockies, Cards, O's, Brewers, Indians, Rays. All good teams who can't draw a crowd. I remember living in St Pete the rays win the East or wildcard and begging people to come to the playoffs.
  9. That lizard aughta kill em down there for you and diggy.
  10. 22" and didn't get a weigh so your guess is as good as mine. Got it on a t-rigged weightless 4" blue pearl/blk & holo flake senko on a 6'-6" BPS carbonlite MH/F and President XT with10 # sufix siege right after it missed a pop-r
  11. They must be kin to Raider.
  12. That is the dumbest thing I have read. When it said they suffer "physoclogical damage" I knew it was just gonna go down hill from there. As far as feeling pain, I am not 100% sure they know what they are talking about. Bass are cold blooded just like many reptiles, which lose their tails as defense. I think they have feeling but in no way can it be the same as a warm blooded animal much less a human. They just try to give everything human qualities as means of justification and persuation. I also like that they insinuate fishermen leave trash all over the place. Typical AR nut jobs. I seen it too many times, especially with the dogs, they will take a perfectly healthy working animal and add 20 pounds and stick it in a 5x5 kennel only to kill it in a month because the owner had it on a chain, didn't feed it enough, had scars from catching a few pigs. Maybe if they loved human beings as much as they loved animals this world wouldn't be such a cold, hateful and backwards place. I agree there is nothing you can say, just walk away because insanity has no reasoning.
  13. THANKS! I see some bargins already....This is what I do! I am much more patient than when I fish. I snagged a $90 spinning reel in Feb for $44 bucks(I trolled for like 4 months until I found the right deal) and a $60 spinning reel for $30 a few years ago. This baitcaster I just paid $99 for was $189. All new in box. Just have to wait for the good deals. Yeah man no problem. I hope I pick it up pretty quick.
  14. I would pick Florida for most variety, bass, snook, redfish, trout then you have offshore. If you live in say South Florida or near the Southern St. Johns River you get some great places to fish both fresh and salt. Texas if it was just largemouth and Tenn. for an overall combo of Large/small and other freshwater species. Honorable mention to Lousiana because they have some great freshwater and inshore fishing in that state.
  15. Well my buddy gave me a quick show on the knobs. Adjusting to the bait is done with the little knob(spool tension I think) next to the drag. The brake is different and has to do with over spinning the spool on cast. I dunno dude, it seems pretty easy if you talk to someone that knows what there doing. He showed me how to let the bait free fall etc.
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rockies-orioles-win-lottery-draft-221738679--mlb.html Looks like the O's and the Brew Crew will get a extra pick after the first round.
  17. Yeah the only ones they had were right, just like the model I used today. I considered looking for a lefty but figured it was a good deal and would try it the "traditional" way. If I can't get the hand switch down I will sell it and go left.
  18. Yeah I was a little thumb heavy this morning but better than backlashing. I am looking forward to getting my setup going. I need a rod still, part of the "purchase agreement" was I buy the reel now cuz it was a deal on closeout and get it for Christmas. But I will still have it ready in time for slow rolling some siebert bluegill spinner baits and grass jigs through beds during spawn!
  19. ^^^x2 I Couldn't have said it better Felix.
  20. Great fish! What did you use to catch it?
  21. New pond, no luck. looks like a future spot, buddy managed one 12 incher. On a brightside my buddy let me throw with a older version of the biatcaster I picked up. Not bad, was getting the thumbing down, he had it tuned just right though. no major backlashes I was nervous about learning. Switching the hands was the hardest part.
  22. If he takes that deal that would be a best case. If he insistant on starter for starter maybe see if he would take Tillman, he looks good on paper and while I am an O's fan, could emplode any day now. Anytime, I love crunching the numbers
  23. How deep was the fish caught? 1-2' Did the lure contain rattles or have hinges? No, but to be more specific it was a 4" senko after it boiled and missed a pop-r(rattles) Was the lure a natural color (brown, green) or was it an unnatural color (chartreuse, orange)? senko was blue pearl w/ black and holo flake....pop-r was blue/holo sides and white belly(50th anniv) If possible, what moon phase was your PB caught during? It was a 5/10/2013 So I think it is new moon
