  1. Wow, so sad. We will definitely be praying for him and his family.
  2. MCS replied to aharris's topic in Fishing Reports
That sucks, but hey at least you had a good fight and got some other nice fish as well.
  3. Cut them in half and put them on a small darter or tube jig head, 1/16 oz is what I typically use. you can fish it so many ways like this and catch. I like the tail to be Blue or Chart when I do this.
  4. Thats cuz so many people are keeping what they catch....witnessed a couple guys bucket fishing this weekend. Who wants to eat fish out a retention pond, I dunno but there is no balance, taking some is good but they fish it to extinction. No limits or lengths abided.
  5. Grande Bass Rattlesnake Culprit incredi-craw Gambler ribbon tail worms - plastic, colors and scent make them waaay better than the competition IMHO Bitters vibe worm - try them on top, T-rigged with a bullet weight and with a weighted swimbait hook. Lucky Craft Kelly J or Kelly J jr.
  6. Royals have a nice young catcher, some good position players. Their revamped rotation, I dunno maybe in the wild card hunt.... I think they will be better than houston and chicago in the AL central. fighting with cleveland to finish behind the tigers.
  7. X2....BPS sells a Carbonlite paired with a curado for $240-260....I own a spinning rod and it is the lightest I have handled. For spinning I would put a daiwa Procyon or a supreme XT at around 8 Ozs unless you wanted to step up to a 200+ reel for even lighter weight.
  8. Nice good luck, post some pics of that 10 pounder
  9. My 6 yr old uses rooster tails, small crank with no problem, pre-rigged creme worms, beetle spins work too. If your targeting pan fish berkley crappie nibbles or live worms work well. I second what J franco said also, but my son has a little trouble with the poppers.
  10. Nice fish man. What did you hook it on?
  11. Well Ravens lose Ellerbe(miami) and Kruger(browns)....Thing I am most upset about is they released Pollard. So there will basically no point to watch the games next season, I don't even know their defense anymore. I loved watch Pollard level people, who ever gets him is getting an awesome strong safety. Kinda disappointing, they aren't even atempting to give the superbowl a go this year. Man **** Joe Flacco, he is a good dude and decent qb but d**n son you ruined the team. Ray Lewis is officially an ESPN analyst. Now I like Ray on the field, intesity, leadership, play was great on the field but I don't think I wanna listen to his mouth before, after or during a game.
  12. That right there will get you a nice fine and possible jail time LOL It's not the gators I am worried about, it is the cotton mouths and pygmies that send you to the hospital quick..... AK I seen some right there at the stop light by micklers and A1A near the beach parking lot. Also seen one floating in the ponds underneath the 295/95 bridges next exit up from me.
  13. Look at pflueger spinning reels. The president is the best for the money bar none. But if you need to go cheaper I hear the trion is very good. I own 3 pfluegers in the 50 plus range and love all of them. If you can swing it my personal pick would be a purist. At the worst an Abu cardinal will get you through I still use my 653s from when I was a kid. Rods can be tricky, don't go too cheap. I hate Shakespeare ugly stick. I love my Carbonlite and have some older Abu rods that are ok. I don't know much about the lightning shocks. I would check out Abu in the 50-80 range or Powell Deisel I hear good things about them and that may be my next rod. As far as bait casting checkout Abu black max combo, Silvermax combo. I also hear some good things about the H2O casting reels from academy sports.
  14. Dunno about Bautista. I wouldn't do it, wrist can affect the power production too much. I never tend to reach for anyone, most of the players I watch and like aren't near the top teir lol, I am all about finding deals in returning players from injuries or down years, or breakout rookies/players. Beachy, Chen, Medlen, Chapman, Headley did it for me last year. When I draft I tend to draft best available for the first few rounds targeting players that aren't injury risks, consistent and not on the yankees/major d-bags, and for pitchers I go with health, Innings pitched, K's, whip and era as major paramaters.
  15. SF is getting pretty stacked over there, kinda would be funny if these guys won with the Ravens then get cut by them and go to the 49ers and win a ring this up coming season too. LOL I personally wouldn't mind seeing Ed get another or seeing Vernon Davis win one.
  16. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/baltimore-ravens-trade-anquan-boldin-to-san-francisco-49ers-for-draft-pick-031113 First victim of the Flacco deal.....Boldin was getting old but another year or two with the team to mentor the young WRs. Don't think Smith is exactly ready to be a No. 1 while he can have some great games, he tends to get lost in games also, his short route and traffic skills are not even in the same league as Boldin at this point in his career. Am excited if he is indeed No. 1 to see tons of long bombs down field. Pull the safties back let Ray run and Ed and Dennis be open in the middle. hmmmm maybe not so bad, especially if the cap room lets us keep Ellerbe and/or Kruger.
  17. Bandit 100 green/chart blue back, baby bass, khaki, and purple tiger
  18. I have used BPS EWG and it is a good hook but recently got VMC EWGs and they are not only better quality but you got more for your money
  19. Wieghtless trick worms and grande bass rattlesnakes in the hot summer months work very well. I don't fish the trick worms on top like many do, I cast it out let it sink and slowly slowly drag or swim it back, pausing here and there. Rig them the same way at a Texas rig but with no wieght.
  20. MCS replied to Jake P's topic in Fishing Tackle
Worm on the old T-rig is my bread n butter. So many ways to fish it some many baits to stick on the hook, so vesitile you can switch from a10" to a 4" in an instant. You can make more adjustments in retrieve and depth then say a hard bait. I ain't gonna lie those hard baits are pretty. I just picked up my first lucky craft and wow. Flukes and bright trick worms seem to be popular around here. But T-rigs with a worm just always produce. Fishing new water it is my go to see if there are fish in there. My favorites are 10" and 7" ribbon tails, rattlesnakes, 6 and 8" lizards, and incredi craws aren't too bad so far.
  21. Yeah stupid inter league lol sorta used to it but how weird is it to have Houston in the AL???
  22. Anybody got brain Roberts pegged lmao Just retire for crying out loud markakis isn't looking so healthy either
  23. I hear the same great things about the lexa too. Before I got my last reel I was eyeing it, but got a deal too good to pass up on another brand. Seriously think the next reel I get will be a lexa one way or another.
  24. Agree with Davis, I got Howard and he is going low. Haren I don't know he is still missing some MPH on his heater. I think Halladay and lincecum comeback strong and so does everyone else.
  25. ^^This nailed how I think/feel about it. Good post man.
