how do you guys fish these? Casting shallow and working them deep or positioning the boat shallow and moving the bait from deep to shallow? I found the deep to shallow presentation easy to work but LIKE before i can be terribly wrong

ive used them in the past with good results. Whats the best one out there? ive only used the worst kind, big keeper, 90degree hook eye, big hook diameter. I bought some VMCs today and im looking to expand and try a lot of them. Whats your favorite? How do you fish them? drag only? shake only? hopping?

I absolutely hate breakdowns. I usually go with a certain amount of time and having something break on me on the way or on the water severly cuts down my fishing time. I HATE BREAKDOWNS. I kinda hate getting skunked but that will be my fault. I hate when people want everything digested. I have been working for months on a different way of fishing a certain bait. Its working very well and then this guy that I know wants to get all the inside information that has taken me countless hours without doing $#!t. Put in the work yourself! Its fine if you are a newbie I can teach you the little bit I know but you still have to work on it and practice. I had a guy once asked everything from the line to the weight, the plastic, my retrieve. He wanted a course on it.

how about short shank in size 6? im upping the size but not chaging the weight that much. im checking kvds mustad

they are getting a little dulled but mainly the problem is that those hooks get bent. when the hooks gets a little out of shape I start losing fish. Unfortunately the fish at home are not hitting jerkbaits bigger than that unless they are really aggresive. tilapia jaws tend to mess them up a little in shape and sharpness

what size? i know very little about trebles and hooks in general

my lucky crafts 65sp are suffering from this and dulled hooks. Ive been missing fish because of it. Whats the best and strongest hook for the job? what size hook does that lure uses? TW has a sale on trokars but they are exrtra wide gap and probably heavier than the stock hooks and I dont want to affect the action of the jerkbait.

what do I have to look for? I only have a dsi unit from lowrance. how do i fish the deep stuff, heavy texas rigs ? drop shots carolina rigs or what? to me the hardest part of fishing deep its that at some point It feels like the bait is directly under me like a pendulum and not exactly on bottom. I also feel that Im fishing too fast... what tricks do you guys have, how(very important) do I position the boat so that I can attack the structure better? Im thinking that a kinda heavy shakey head may be a good option as I can get it really far with spinning and 7# fluoro... Ive found deep humps in the 30(top) range going down into 50 feet. rockpiles that go from 0-30 feet. A lot of bare flat areas in the 60 foot range. A lot of points(how do I tell a good one from a bad one. a couple old river channels. this post is a mess, just a collective of thoughts on my weakness I need help making this way of fishing a method.

I have a friend who is having some trouble fishing in that area. He is a very good finesse fisherman. He has been fishing Ray Hubbard lake and he has not been doing really well. He is catching way more white bass than largemouth. Is there a fairly close lake that you guys can recommend or is there a specific area on that lake where bass fishing is the strongest?

Update from Puerto Rico... I went last week, it was great, a great bite and a lot of fish, I saw a lot of leaves from the trees in the road and the lake had this cool breeze that I always associate with Xmas. In a week of two the fishing is going to rock!!!

its been a hell of a week literally. over 100 degrees every day this week here in Puerto Rico. It has been worse than july. Very tough bite.

When you do a technique a lot of time like Ive done slider fishing you reach a point where everything clicks. It feel that way with that one technique and split shotting. I want to reach that point with a couple other finesse techniques and jerkbaiting(something Im throwing every trip now and doing ok with it). Ive dedicated some time to drop shotting and while many people seem to figure it out really fast and have good luck with it I cant buy a bite with it. I rig it with a 1/8 most of the time or a 1/16 weight and a size 1 gamakatsu drop/split shot hook(I ordered the 1/0 to see if the hook is the culprit). Many different plastics and probably the reason why Im failing its because I cant pick one plastic and fish it for as long as it needs to be fished. Also Ive been thinking that Im moving the bait way to much, I think that I probably need to move the bait just a little and leave it do its work. I have been experimenting a lot with the leader length. I even tried a 3 inch leader because Aaron marteens talked about how it was easier to control. Is there something that I should try? A missing key?

I filled the boat with water to find a lot of leaks. I dont know whats the best way to fix it. I Also have a pretty bad crack, I have pictures of it. A friend told me to use marine tex to cover the leaks. There are like 5 leaking studs. Whats the best way to fix all of these problems ASAP and resume fishing? I love bass fishing !!!

it was no limits like Major league fishing which made it even better for me. I didnt take pictures of the bass, I wanted the bass back in the water as soon as possible. I didnt tell anyone but my friend from the club who invited me there what I was using. If anyone asked I simply told them a small worm which would have worked if people werent so anxious and fished them slow.

I went to fish for a new club this weekend. I was fishing in a smaller club but it kinda broke when the president, my mentor left to live in TX. I bet he will make great things in the fishing world as he is extremely talented. So It was a completely new lake for me. I had practiced for a couple hours this past Tuesday and it was awful. I was fishing off somebody else boat fishing at his speed on his spots the way he would fish. The day before the tournament I heard of it being a great bite. Then the tournament came. I was kinda anxious and nervous. My goal was to win it all in my first tournament with that club while being and unknown. There were around 40 people fishing. I went into the first spot that I picked(I didnt fish a single spot my friend showed me the practice day) and I caught two keepers. It happened in the first half hour of the tournament. It was 2 pm, extremely hot Caribbean temperatures. My pattern was to fish areas that looked like it had been shaded the whole day. Around an hour or so later I had nothing else added into the boat. I was confident looking for the proper spots that werent taken already. I fish out of a 12 foot aluminum v hull boat with a 9.9 hp motor. It is slow to say the least. So I got into a cove that looked like it had some activity and I caught nothing inside of it but once I reached the outer wall to the right it was crazy. I caught 6 keepers in a matter of half and hour. I caught a total of 7 fish there and it was working good. My only fear was someone having caught the same but better quality. The weighting boat came and weighted all my fish. I asked him how everybody was doing and he told me people that had been fishing that lake for decades were getting skunked. It was skunk city in there and I was blowing all the competition out of the water. Can you Imagine how I felt!!! He started to look around my boat trying to find out my bait without me noticing. I finished that day with 9 fish. Second day I added 10 fish with a couple boats being my fans trying to find out what I was doing. I did better, caught 10 keepers but had a little keeper die on me. I still feel bad about it. The tournament ended and they called the winners. Second place overall did 168oz. Yours truly did 294. They called me over the mic and talked about what a surprise it was to have someone do what I did. They invited me over to the next one that happens to be on my home lake. It was awesome, everybody was talking to me and congratulating me. Many of them talked about how good my weekend was and many were looking for ways to pick my brain. The president was very nice to me and asked me to be on the next tournament. Many couldnt believe that I caught 19 bass while they caught zero or 1 a day. I gotta say the weekend was awesome. A lot of great food and great people around me. Winning made me extremely happy. I still cant believe it. Now I gotta get my gear ready so I can go practice my home lake and prove them that it was not a fluke. Thanks BR for all you have teach me!!!

directly to the line. I think 99% use it like that but hey tinker with it, who knows if you find a great variation to it.

that kid is probably catching fish right now. I cant believe how many people dislike that lure. well, it may be better, I may find them cheap somewhere soon.

IT is!!! Its a very good bait, my friend gave me two of em and they catch bass like crazy. all sizes too. amazing on the drop shot. its OK on a slider head. After hours of searching google, bass pro and tackle warehouse I foung the vagabond bait and made and order. this god forsaken bait monkey keeps finding ways to make me purchase more tackle noooooooooooooo

Its the bait first in the left and in the middle in the left side of the slider head. Its a very good drop shot bait. I like it better than other options like the zipper worm or the roboworms. Its a 4 inch bait. Anyone has the name of a company or a way to find it and I will be grateful forever.

wrong. If you watch the video from aaron martens(one of the best in the world using a DS) you can hear him talk about casting drop shot and how effective it can be. this is the first thing I will suggest to the TS. watch that video first.
