  1. Do you guys feel a mod-fast action will aid in letting the fish take the bait a little more but still have enough power for the hookset?
  2. Looking for a rod to throw 3/4 oz heads with 4-5inch soft swimbaits, as this range is just past what I feel comfortable with for my EMTF. What length, power, and action would you recommend for these baits? They also have fairly stout hooks. Will be using either 30lb braid or 14lb fluoro. Rod recommendations are also welcome. Budget is $250 give or take. Thanks
  3. Line twist and memory are the main reasons I have ventured away from straight fluoro or copoly. For the last two years, all I have used is 10lb braid with a swivel connected to 6-7lb fluoro and it is perfect for me. Maximum sensitivity, manageability, and value. I live in the PNW so I spend most of my year drop shotting for smallmouth in water from 5-50ft, and I havent found anything that is even a close second. I do keep one DS rod always rigged with straight fluoro just to play with, but rarely use it now.
  4. I think it was Aaron. If you watch closely on the Talking Dead replay of the scene, you ca see part of his jacket when Negan points at who it is. Also I feel if it was someone significant, we wouldve heard a scream. They cannot keep back their emotions for who they love just because Negan tells them to. Thats my best guess, but this one is wide open.
  5. Chartreuse, white, and craw for me.
  6. Tapps, Spanaway, Sawyer and American are some of the more popular ones close to that area. There are plenty more, those are the first few that came to mind. A lot of good small lakes in that area.
  7. Picked up one of these before they're gone for good.
  8. Lews owns the $100 market in my opinion. Ive also heard the new Caenan uses a graphite frame, so Lews all the way for me.
  9. Love the Endurance line. Have the 673, 694, 714, and two 723's and they arent going anywhere.
  10. Most of these were used with "scratch" in the definition, but if they didn't happen come outside of their original packaging, there is no way I could tell they aren't new. Very impressed with the quality and condition.
  11. I read something a while back where Gary Yamamoto himself said the 5" senko was designed to be fished with a 3/0 EWG hook for the perfect fall and action as designed.
  12. I bought the Dr. Slick Hook File 4" and expected the file portion to be 4", but it turns out the whole thing is 4" long. Not what I was expecting, but I have grown to love it.
  13. 704 hands down. If you are only fishing 1/4oz and in little to moderate cover, I would recommend the 703. 704 would be most comparable to St. Croix's MH.
  14. Pro Blue and French Pearl OB should cover most of your needs. I also like the GG Trout OB and the countless Japanese colors...
  15. I had a 7'M/F Avid, but sold it. Was too tip heavy for me. My Fury 704 is more balanced than the Avid, and is a good buy at its price point. Those St. Croix sure are beautiful quality rods, but balance is a major thing for me.
  16. Unfortunately, I did not get to go down there as planned so the trip was cancelled. But after doing some research, I will be making a trip down there within the next year or two, just for some bass fishing. It sounds like a blast, and I will pick the right time to go and plan it out. Thanks to everyone for the responses!
  17. I hear you man. Ive been debating whether or not to do this for the past couple months, since pieces are always moving and nothing seems set for long enough. Cant wait to see your collection!
  18. I prefer the Alphas SV105SH over it, that reel is a crazy value for $200. Just get a 90mm handle for it for another $20 and youre good. I also love my Lews Team Pro, but I got it two months ago, so to soon to tell. Plus you can get them on closeout on the auction site, where I got mine for 30% off retail. I also love my Tournament Pros. I dont know what it is, but they are a sweet reel for their price, and have been tremendous workhorses for me for the past two seasons. I do really enjoy using my MGX as well, I dont want it to sound like Im bashing it too bad. It certainly has its place in my arsenal. But these three reels offer some stiff competition, especially since all three can be had for $200 or less, which is almost half the retail of the MGX.
  19. I like it, but dont love it. I had two, but sold one. If you get one, shop around. Ive seen them going for $220 new at a few retailers. I definitely enjoy it, but wouldnt buy another. It isnt as smooth and the tolerances are not as tight as other reels in that price range. I feel is excels at around 1/4-3/8oz lures. Feel free to ask me any other questions you have, those are just my general thoughts on the reel. Anytime! You were one of the people that convinced me to try my first Powell Endurance, and as you can see, I liked them. Appreciate the help you gave me introducing me to one of my favorite rods. Tight lines Wdy!
  20. Here is an idea of how I roll. Sorry for the not so great pics, they were the best I could do before the rain started coming down. This is my complete lineup for 2016, but as you all know, things will surely change throughout the year Most of these do not have the line they will have once fishing starts, so in the description of the reels, I will use the line I will be using during the season, not the line currently on the reel. All of my time and money outside of school go to fishing, And I have bought everything you see with my own money. You only live it once, so might as well live it right. And I have to take advantage of it now before real life starts and I have to start paying rent and taxes! Many of these rods and reels have come from recommendations from various site members, So thank you to those who have helped me, and thank you to this great site! Tight lines.
  21. I cut them. This will be my first year using them, so not sure how it will work yet. So far, so good.
