  1. Agreed. This is my favorite rod paired with a TD-Z. Lot of versatility with this rod.
  2. True Religion or Rock & Republic. FD
  3. The Husky Jerk is one of my favorite baits overall. Had success with the X-rap last season as well. If you have a BPS close to you, X-Raps are going on sale this weekend. with that being said, IMO, they are well worth full retail price, around $6.50. FD
  4. Catt, Sounds absolutely horrible. You and all involved will be in my prayers. FD
  5. The Beast is a good bait. I use the 3" on a shakey head. Also one day I was on a good Fat Ika bite and ran out of Ika's so for some reason I decided to rig a 3" beast backwards (thinking that would be my closest substitute in my tackle box). Well, it worked..caught a few bass that day but have not tried it since. FD
  6. Thinking about giving live bait a try this year. For those live bait users, what type of setup are you using? Spinning vs Baitcaster, rod power/action/length, type of rig(splitshot, weightless, etc)? Sorry for all of the broad questions, starting from the ground upon this. Roadwarrior, if I remember correctly, you have had success with shiners for smallies. Are you still using this method? Thanks in advance. FD
  7. Thanks for the replies. good info.
  8. One of my baits to focus on in '08 is topwater-specifically Sammy's and Spooks. What colors have produced for you guys? Thanks in advance, FD
  9. I attempted to use the CXX in 20lb and had the same results....however, used 12 lb CXX in the past on a couple rigs without any problems. In my experience, most lines that I have tried in 17 lb or above have terrible memory. My solution=braid. FD
  10. Is there a link to where we can get real time updates? Am I not seeing the blog for today?
  11. I am considering putting aftermarket spools on a few of my TD-Z's. For those of you who have made this modification, can you tell a signficant difference in performance? Trying to justify spending $80 on each reel. FD
  12. Second video rocks!!! FD

Welcome to the forum. Tons of info here for ya. FD
  14. X2 this rod is on the boat every time I go out.
  15. I have had success with the Rapala "Down Deep" Husky Jerk. Use it on spinning gear with 6lb. co-poly and it gets pretty deep. With that being said, for some reason I am not a big fan of hard jerkbaits that deep. I have had better success with a weighted hook/fluke setup. FD
  16. Guys, For those of you who have used it, what are your thoughts? Beneficial product? I am considering the clear version to drop a little in my bags of Zoom Trick Worms. Can long term (meaning potentially all fishing season) exposure to JJ's hurt the plastics? Thanks in advance, FD
  17. awesome. Keep us posted Robert. What are the laws for online alcohol sales? If you can take an order from a BassResource member in St. Louis, I want to be one of your first customers! ;D
  18. I use a GLoomis CBR843 and it works great. Loads up nicely with 1/2 or 5/8 oz cranks, tosses 3/4 oz cranks ok, but it makes me a little nervous. Fairly light weight and as sensitive as you need in a cranking rod, IMO. Paired up with a Daiwa TD-Z makes it a very balanced combo. FD
  19. 5BL, do you like this bait in 5 inch or 7 inch with the spot remover? FD
  20. Redline, Are the 3 pairs on the left Alligator? I have a couple pairs of lizard but looking for another pair...might switch it up this time.
  21. Harshman, thanks again for the info.
  22. Do they make a lipless crank? If so, how do they look? FD
