  7. I'm over in Jax and I fished my backyard pond when it was raining lightly and i caught a 2.10lb on a spinner bait. I was only fishing for about 25 mins though
  8. Nothng like hooking a fish and feeling the strike on a spinner bait
  9. looks like some sort of shiner to me... I use them as bait
  10. I was living in NJ so I could not fish all winter because of the snow and freezing temps. But now that I am in FL I will be fishing all year round!
  11. after looking at all the pics I would have to say a replica mount is not the way to go, they look too fake. Fishing has been around for centuries and it is a way of survival... food. I understand people's views about killing a trophy bass but regardless of your views fishing is a way to eat first THEN a sport/hobby second(even though I fish for sport not food I don't like eating fish). But that one fact can not be argued. So it is not selfish or wrong to kill a trophy fish that you caught. If it was a family in another country, or a family in the US that could not afford to buy food so they fish, it would not be wrong to kill that 10 pounder so they can eat. SO if that is acceptable then why not get the fish mounted? At least the mount will last you years when someone eats a fish they catch they digest it and thats it, gone forever.
  12. Nice stripers mn The swimbaits are basically as big as the LM they obviously dont mind some indigestion

  18. I dont think that is 4lb I think its bigger than that looks it anyway. the scale could have been weighing in different units I know mine has that setting but thzt fish is definitly over 4 I would say closer to 5 or 6
  19. True good luck with the reds and glad you got a nice fish here in Jax. If you need a scale go to amazon.com I got my digital berkley scale, weighs up to 50lbs, for $20... I've had it for years and it still works perfectly
  20. I haven't come across a gator yet or a moccasin while fishing I live in Jax so there aren't as many gators as you guys got in Miami but we do got em here. I am surprised I haven't come across a moccasin though
  21. Man May and June I was killing them! Since all this hot weather and rain I haven't got any fish worth posting a picture of. MCS is right once the temps drop again the fish will be biting again. Also I think they were spawning in May and beginning of June so that is why they were close to shore and very active. I am going to be doing more fishing in the morning though when the temps are low. I am gonna check out the pond n the corner of Bartrum and Racetrack if anyone wants to meet me there Thursday morning I'll be there around 6:15 am. Let me know
  22. n Nice fish man did you weigh it by any chance?
  23. nice gar man. I never aught a gar before IDK if they have them in the lakes around me in Jacksonville
  24. Man those are some nice fish! Thanks for the pics
