  1. I just bought a Lowe for about 20. They had a 2012 for 17.
  2. Umqua River, Oregon for 200 fish a day but you have to drift. Might get a couple steelhead on the way.
  3. Right. Don't go below the thermocline.
  4. The Dale Hollow world record was caught by a guy trolling for walleye.
  5. Used treated 2x4s for years on my galvanized trailer and never had a problem.
  6. A total relaxer for me. After I pick up the boat I can only manage to drive about 30 mph.
  7. My experience in this situation is the smaller the bait the better and fish tight to cover.
  8. I just installed a separate switch on my back-up lights so I can turn them on without being in reverse.
  9. For the most part I just don't care for fish. Crappie are pretty tasty but I'm too lazy to clean 'em.
  10. Jeez I love being retired. Go every day. Except now. Broke my hip.
  11. Try fishin where there aren't any pike. Love that Wiggle Wart, tho.
  12. Never had thumb itch from big bass but fished the Umqua river with a partner and together boated something on the order of 200 smallies. That brought about a bleeding thumb. Sadly none were bigger than 2#.
  13. Had a friend that brought one[2 1/2 lb lm]home from the lake and it was out of the water and in the back of his station wagon for about 25 minutes. He put it in the kids wading pool for over a week, feeding it bugs and worms, and it survived the week without mishap. He then released it in a local pond. No clue as to how it fared after that.
  14. Never have used one but then I don't fish tournaments, either.
  15. I've twice seen humidity inflate auto jackets so I use a manual. If I go over and get knocked out I guess Ill just die.
  16. I fixed the crack in my old boat by the previously mentioned drilling, sanding and then applying JB Weld.
  17. Minnkota Edge has a 45 lb bow mount for $400. The only thing is it's a 5 speed but that will make very little difference to your battery. And yes, you can rig your boat for a bow mount but it will be a bit of a chore.
  18. Whoopee! Great fish.
  19. I seldom flip because off brush/branches. I pitch an awful lot. Takes practice but you can do amazing things with a jig.
  20. That's the way I do it. That's the way I'll always do it.
  21. Well, Oregon Native, me too. Actually spent a part of my youth at Gales Creek[or crik as Oregonions say]. It was all about salmonids in those days. Didn't start fishing for bass 'til I was in the Navy and back East.1st one on a Rapala floater.
  22. Emigrant Lake, SW Oregon Not sure of the depth but probably about 12 feet. I was jiggeling a half oz jig through a 20x20 patch of surface slop. She took it about 6" down. 8lb 4oz. Sorry, no pic.
