Congrats! My personal best is 3# caught on a crankbait. Anticipating a larger PB shortly.......as in every time I go fishing!

I added quicksilver premium to my new to me merc 225 DFI Optimax oil tank reservoir. Then I discover it was the wrong oil and Mercury says to use quicksilver DFI oil. So I'll be pumping out the rank and adding the correct DFI oil. That's the drawback to buying used I guess. Does anyone have any other items I should be aware of relating to DFI engines or how they may differ from merc 150 xr6 ? Thanks Chris

It might be best if someone else answers that since I don't have experience with that type of trim mechanisms. I would think it would be ok if it locks in that position....but someone should be along shortly.

I tell anyone that goes fishing with me that I'm out to go fishing. If I catch a fish that's a bonus. Set the expectation low........and no worries. And the time we spend fishing has always been a great time..........every time!

I have to trim my motor up and down when unloading and loading/trailering. Left trimmed up will take a long time to plane out and be impossible to see what all is in front of you. Left planed down and you will plow the water.

Way back when.....my friend and I hauled an inflatable raft to the beach everyday. We had a third friend join us on one occassion when the wids were fierce and kicked up the surf quite a bit. We hopped in and started paddling out........what do 8 and 9 year olds know? The breakers picked us up and flipped us over.....dumping us out in about 4' of water.....that third friend landed on top of me.....me on my back on the bottom and he sitting on my chest....pushing the air out of my lungs. He was trying to get up hut was in no big hurry.....dang near drowned me! Other than that only things like jumping from boat onto a muddy bank and slipping in the mud causing me to fall back into the water or down in the mud.

I enjoy the company.......not a lot of talk......it's nice to have someone to share that catch with. I have camera on board to take a pic but it's nice to have someone that was there when happened.

Well crud. They were supposed to be here Friday and they weren't......not today either. That's the wonderful USPS 2 day delivery! Shipped 2nd day Tuesday and still not here....nothing updated in their tracking since the 11th. Is it any wonder they are circling the drain?

LOL. Hardcore pawn........does not shed a favorable light on the folks of Detroit! All those kinda shows are scripted I think.....but that's ok......so is everything else I watch. I wish I could have my life scripted.......it would work a lot better than it does now.

Today out on the lake......77 degrees, sunny and beautiful. Tomorrow.......high of 47 maybe then bottom falls out and we get rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. Again nothing compared to our friends in the Northeast.......but DANG anyways!

I fish more like your son......but not near that far out......I have 3 people in the boat usually....so it works better the run close to parallel to shore and everyone can cast towatds the bank.

I think the 'Ranger' is part of it.....they are well made nice boats......but a way outta my price range.

I thought I was the only one wondering such things.
