  1. Yeah.......if you look at mine.......50% of it hangs off unsupported.........where the gunwale starts to roll down at the 'ui' in Motorguide. Just seems like way too much and I think it vibrates/makes noise as a result. Seriously planning on going back to cable steer......I'll miss the electric steer features.
  2. Do you have any pics of how your electric steer trolling motor is mounted? Looking for a better way than I have my Motorguide xi5 installed........I feel like it hangs off unsupported way to far. But that is how it is with Motorguides installation information. They don't seem to be designed for use on fiberglass bass boats......it's the down sweeping arched gunwales that cause the problem. Any pics or ideas? Thanks
  3. Who do you use, if anyone, for roadside assistance/towing of your boat? My insurer does not offer that option................so I am looking at Boat US or sea tow maybe.
  4. The mis-applied 2d transducer I understand....that's probably it. Since I did install the transducer for my touch units.......which is what loses depth on occasion. My current flasher works 100% of the time. I was wondering if I should get one if I bought another boat.......but you probably hit the nail on the head with mis-installed transducer. Thanks Wayne
  5. 36v is the direction I'm currently leaning.......if I can reconfigure battery compartment to add the additional battery. Thank you for all the info/advice. Chris
  6. who uses an in dash flasher as backup when the sonar loses depth? I do currently........but a boat I'm looking at doesn't have one. Trying to convince myself I don't need a flasher for backup........but I kind of like the warm fuzzy it gives me. Gonna be tough to find one......found a few but awful expensive. Do I need an in dash flasher or should I address the sonar losing depth.......anything I can do to ensure I that NEVER lose depth on my sonar? (Touch units) Thanks Chris
  7. Gettin' closer now. Who all's a comin' to Toledo Bend 2015 BassResource Roadtrip?
  8. My boat is 18'-6" with a 74" wide deck. I bought a roll 8'x30' roll and had just enough with just a tad left over. You must take into account the hatch lid doors, the sides if carpeted, ect. Cost me $389 for the carpet and glue. I had a lot of scap wood but had to buy a lot of clamps at harbor freight to clamp the lids while drying. I wanted to do all the lids at once. There are some pics of my project in this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130530-carpet-in-my-bass-boat/page-2
  9. X2.This is where I bought my carpet and adhesive. They were the most reasonable price wise and the quality of product is great. Definitely where I'll go the next time. If you google search bass boat recarpet you will find both written instructions and a few videos.
  10. While I get the concern of possibly not inflating.......for me at least.......I would remove the non-inflatable as soon as I stopped. I would always put a non-inflatable on before we jetted off.......but for me, inflatable is the only way. Ours have a manual pull cord that works in case of auto inflate failure. If it fails to auto inflate and I'm unconscious........I did my due diligence......they will just have to wait for my body to auto inflate on its own.
  11. Looking forward to meeting you. I am very excited........can hardly wait.
  12. Personally I would remove it and block out the old unit if I did not use it.....I do not want any electronics 'permanently' mounted.....I like to take them off when not using the boat.
  13. No. Thanks for the replies............... I've never had any problems with my 24volt system/motor on my current boat (18'-6") I was just thinking this one would be 20'-9" and about 200# heavier and might benefit from having the extra thrust 36volt trolling motor. Appreciate the input everyone.
  14. Is it worth the hassles to add another deep cycle battery to a current 24v system to have 36 volt trolling ? Is 36v that much better to have? I think I understand the benefits.....I just can't decide if it's worth the trouble to change from 24 to 36 volt. Contemplating another used boat and need a new trolling motor and onboard charger........so trying to decide if I would want to go 36 over 24 volt. Obliviously easier to keep status quot.......but figured now would be the time to decide. Thanks in advance
  15. IMHO = in my humble opinion. ;-)
  16. IMHO......Absolutely! If you don't already have one.........that's a great idea. I wear mine 100% of the time with the exception of when we beach in a cove while having lunch.....otherwise we all wear ours all of the time.
  17. I would mix some baking soda with a little water......and pour it on where ever the acid got to neutralize it and then flush the area very well.
  18. I am glad to see at least one of us waited until Christmas to open their gift. KUDOS!
  19. Yep......dispose of the gasoline for sure.
  20. I got a super magnum soft tackle bag from Cabelas. It will hold 12 3700 boxes in main compartment.....and 3 3600 boxes in 3 other pockets and still has 2 more pockets....plus places for my pliers and stuff. Also got a pair of battery powered socks.......woo Hoo warm toes and feet when it's cold! Merry Christmas you bums!
  21. Merry Christmas to you, Julie and Anistan! Enjoy that first Christmas with Anistan.........I'm sure you guys are loving it and did not in any way go overboard
  22. X10 Merry Christmas to Glenn, Keri and all the Mods and members!
  23. I just bought 2 wet batteries last weekend. Walmart said they would take them back........but I think I'll avoid any possible issues should something go wrong........so I can just stop by my local Walmart for any warranty issues. You almost got to to bite though........I called Walmart to see if they would take them back.....maybe next time.....I would like AGM batteries. Appreciate the heads up Slonezp
  24. A BIG SHOUT OUT to Lee for setting this up for us every year! Thank you Lee and Nicole! MERRY FISHMAS!
