  1. Google the starter part number..........I did and found my starter for $74.00........good luck.
  2. They are all quality products......I buy the army head...........my suggestion is to either determine what types of terrain you need them for or buy an assortment and decide which work best for you.
  3. Bass Resource is partnered with BASSIN and THE BIG BASS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, and it is time for the finals to crown the 2014 BIG BASS WORLD CHAMPION. The finals will be at Ft. Gibson Lake, on Oct 18, with a pre-tournament meeting Friday night Oct, 17. I would like to extend an invitation to Bass Resource Members to come out and visit the weigh in. I would also like to extend another invitation to Bass Resource boat owners. Bassin’ has had some marshals back out due to unforeseen circumstances, and we are in need of a couple of Marshals for the tournament. What does being a Marshal consist of? Basically, being a taxi driver in your boat, with two state champions fishing. They alternate half days, front and back of the boat on the trolling motor, and you drive the outboard. No electronics, no helping, no fish talk. We will be filming for 30 second and 15 second commercials for 3 networks, as well as filming for a 30 min infomercial. A camera release form will need to be signed, and Marshals will get dinner on Friday night, lunch on the boat Saturday, and dinner Saturday night at the awards dinner if you want. Some sponsor product for you as well will be given to each marshal. If you can help please contact Brad Uhl at BASSIN Magazine at 918-364-4210 x 132 or email at brad.uhl@freshwatermediagroup.com
  4. Glad your ok. I wear mine at all times.......my pic was before I bought it.
  5. 2001 Mercury xr6 150.........shifted into gear fully......popped out of gear. Shifted to neutral, back into gear but did not engage.....back to neutral....back into gear and engaged. Any ideas what's up? I've worked on cars and trucks but I'm not outboard smart. Thanks
  6. Not sure if it went through the belt but it did get down to it.......that is the sound I heard.......I actually just swapped it with the spare so I could hit the lake today. I'm funny about stuff like that.....il'll probably buy another.
  7. Yeah........when I found this yesterday I actually thought how lucky I was to find it........then I thought about your nice trailer tire catch.
  8. Yes sir........almost ruined my fishing trip today......but threw on da spare and slow good.......gotta get a new one Monday or Tuesday.
  9. I should pay better attention........at the boat ramp. Apparently someone hit my boat trailer fender while we were out on the lake last week and turned the edge of one fender down .....didn't notice.....hear a 'sound' while running to gas up the boat today.....got home and started looking around and discovered I will need to buy a new tire. Pay close attention everyone.......might save you some dough. I had already bent it back out before I thought to take picture. Notice the 'extra' groove I have added to the tread.
  10. I'm on my second MG Xi5. The first one looked at me and said "goodbye"........see video here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/136864-giant-trolling-motor-eating-lake-monster-or-fish-and-general-crappy-day/?hl=%2Blake+%2Bmonster I have seen a few gremlins in my second motor. I hate the pedal......at times it will turn way too much .....May be me not learning the pedal....don't use it much. I think my issues are related to my being used to the cable steer. But my point is the motorguide xi5 can have issues too. I was very disappointed in Motorguide not replacing my motor......they said because it was due to a collision ...you can see in the video I'm not going fast at all.....the mounting plate failed....poor material and or design. I won't ever buy another motorguide mounting plate again. See minn Kota says.....good luck.
  11. What you purpose and Tom states.......makes sense to me.......if you want to try just another jack.......you can have the one I have on my gate that I no longer need. ;-)
  12. They are in the corner of the yard in a semi circle......waiting for the spring.
  13. Pretty standard in this neighborhood......wife hates it........I've offered to move them inside......maybe next year.
  14. Used to have to pull it out and back with the tractor after opening the gate.....then close it back every time. Big hassle. Not anymore!
  15. That would be me. I went camping with my girlfriend and dog when I was 19 in 1981, in the Sierra Nevadas in Southern California . We drove several miles along a fire road without any sign of cabins, campers or people to the site where we decided to make camp. Had dinner and by the time we finished it an hour past dark. We climbed into the open bed of my pickup and settled down to sleep. After 15 or 30 minutes my dog had raised up and was growling as he looked off the left side (4 o'clock position)of my truck. I nudged him with my foot and told him to knock it off. A few minutes later he was back up growling at about the 5 or 6 o'clock position.....I nudged him again and said shut up.....the mountains are full of squirrels, deer and what not so I wasn't worried. This growling nudging cycle continued.....7, 8 and 9 o'clock position. But at the 9 o'clock position as I was nudging and in the middle of my telling him to knock it off......I looked out and a 5-6 to 6-0 ft dark figure that was just standing there about 50-60 feet from the truck. I grabbed my shotgun and hollered, "who's there?" ......."I have a gun and I'll shoot!"......hollered a few more times with no reaction.......then chambered a round and hollered again. Any human would have hauled out of there with the chambering of a round.....at this point I was afraid for my life and the life of my girl friend....so I pulled the trigger. I refocused after the recoil and the figure was gone. I told my girl friend to get in the cab and we were taking off.......I was never so scared as when I turned on the headlights......fearing it would be in front of us. Got out without incidence.........went back with my friends the next day.......found a small spatter of blood on some leaves where I recalled the figure standing but the ground, leaves were not disturbed and there was nothing else there. Bigfoot, Sasquatch or boogie man.....I don't know. What I do know/believe is dogs don't have an imagination.........dog saw something and tracked it around the truck as it circled us. A person (sane person anyway) will not just stand there with someone hollering and racking a round into a shotgun. And a person if hit with shotgun pellets will generally make some sound when hit......and will generally make a lot of racket while running away. Bottom line.....if you say you've seen Bigfoot or Sasquatch , I won't laugh, doubt you or pass judgment. I have no plans to fish loch ness either!
  16. UPDATE: Motorguide says since the motor came off due to a 'collision' they would not repair/replace the trolling motor or quick connect base plate. I still contend the plate was faulty and should not have broken like that, dumping the trolling motor into the lake. I was not moving very fast at all......only 2 on 3 on the speed setting......and bumped the submerged tree......any trolling motor shaft would flex/bow and bounce off the tree. I maintain that the Xi5 is a good motor and not responsible for the dunking incident. I have already purchased a new Xi5 and mounted it directly to the boat. I really wanted a quick release but after that incident and the fact that Motorguide will not stand behind the product, I will not buy another motor guide plate and will probably not buy any other plate either. Can't see risking another $1500 trolling motor on the $100 poorly designed/manufactured quick release plate. The reps at Motorguide say they have never seen that before, nor has anyone else I have spoken to......but since Motorguide won't stand behind the product......they are making you gamble that your high dollar investment on a trolling motor mounted on the bracket is just a crap shoot as to whether or not you will be out $1500. While I love my Motorguide xi5.......I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MOTORGUIDE. You make your own decision or draw your own conclusion. By the way......stood the old trolling motor upside down for several days.....spun the prop a few times 2 or 3 times a day. Mounted on boat and connected it. Ran just fine........only missing the 'control panel' (does not affect operation)...will replace that when they get a parts list.....might just sell it to the trolling motor repair shop if they are interested.....just saying the motor took a licking and kept on ticking!

  18. My motorguide Xi5 turns very fast......easily at least as fast as my motorguide TR82L FB.
  19. I put an ATV hand grip on the shaft of our Xi5 and a ram mount for travel support. Using either of these did make it a lot easier to stow and deploy. As far as not many obstacles in Ft Gibson......it has ALOT of obstacles.......not as many as Lake Fork maybe but more than enough. The GPS course lock and the electronic anchor make it more desirable for me. But that is why they make both kinds and we all get to choose the one we want to use. Happy fishing
  20. They told me last Thursday they were waiting on MG to send them schematics...................still no determination as to whether they will cover it or not................so no insurance claim as yet. I am going to stop by the shop tonight......but I'm afraid that if they get the schematics today and MG is going to fix for free it will still be next week or the week after before I get it back...........to be honest....if I had it to do all over again knowing what I know now.....I would have just filed a claim and already replaced the TM. But it is always a good idea to review your insurance coverage........especially anytime you add new equipment.
  21. I bought mine at bassboatseats.com
  22. Update......shop is waiting on schematics...since it is so new they don't have them yet...I'm their first. Yay! Shop hoping to have the schematics by mid week. Hopefully they have some kind of loaner program....I'm watching Craigslist too trying to find a temp unit so I can fish next weekend. I will update as I get info.
