  1. Welcome. It will be a mixed blessing. But beware........for everyday you spend with the carpet walkers.......the closer you will come to assimilation.....until the day comes that you will not be able to return. But I welcome you just the same. Boo ha ha ha ha.
  2. I too, am sorry to hear. Prayers and thoughts sent.
  3. When I read the topic of the post......that is the first thing that came to my mind.........Snakes ......Yikes!
  4. That about sizes it up nicely.
  5. You may be lazy.......but your best bet is to do a little searching here on the forum and Google. I did my carpet last year.......not too difficult.......but very handy to watch a few videos. It will make your boat look a lot better.....that's for sure......but there is the possibility that it will look like crap if not done right. Good luck.
  6. Glad you found it..........I always worry about leaky fuel lines......me skeered of Fire on da boat.
  7. Sorry to hear that. Yep....and it's not just our next door neighbors. It's any older person we come into contact with.
  8. I might have to take the doors off of my truck.......it never occurred to me to kick the other vehicles on the road. Thanks Raider.....great idea! Idiot/Moron Disclaimer: I'm just kidding......its a bad idea.
  9. I'm in again this year Lee.......PM to follow.
  10. Yep.....always a great time! But as a new father.........you will soon be asking yourself 'where has the time gone?'
  11. X2 on everything posted here. Especially the boater safety course....here in OK it was free. Remember.....you can't see everything in the water.....stumps, rocks, old pilings, ect. In my opinion you should be very careful until you have learned the waterway. I have been fishing my home lake for 3 years now from a boat. Still find a new stump, rock, ect every time out. I strongly suggest a hot maps card or something similar to aid in navigation.......I won''t go out without one. I was blazing across my home lake the first day I got the boat......I was in 30+ feet of water.....then all of a sudden I was in less than 3 feet.......couldn't see the flat in the middle of the lake! I use the hot maps card and then allow for error ......things change and the channel or stump field lines might be a little off. Congratulations and enjoy your boat safely. Remember your kill switch.
  12. The 'guys' at two tire shops tell me it's fine. Did not expose the steel belt.........should be just fine......I just put an extra grove or tire tread in it.
  13. Those are some great pointers........I need to do more of the hand at the bottom of the wheel. And the same tips work for backing the boat up when you get home too!
  14. Speaking of good for you.......might they get a little sip out of the box too?
  15. CJ5? Now that's what I call a short wheelbase!
  16. I think this will get a lot of different responses.....because everyone fishes a little different. I will throw to a spot I feel 'should' hold a fish with any given lure a number of times.......varying speed of retrieve or number of twitches......maybe 6-12 casts per speed or number of twitches. Then try with another type of lure. Usually the people I fish with throw different baits until we find the 'one' that works.......cuts down on the number of casts I must make when alone. And when I'm satisfied they aren't gonna bite.....move to the next spot and repeat.
  17. The shorter the tow vehicle wheelbase the squirrelly it is.......but if you keep the speed down you should be ok....be careful.....but that goes for everyone.
  18. I turn my ringer off and ask others to do the same unless there is an important reason to leave it on......in which case they probably should not have come fishing.
  19. Yep...guilty as charged. I sport a bassresource sticker on my truck to facilitate identification.......the sticker has started a good number of fishing conversations with people I have not met before.
  20. I'm not sure if they accurate........i just go fishing regardless of what the solunar tables indicate.
  21. Since it appears nobody was hurt........I can say hehehe.
  22. I remove my rods after each outing and bring them and the tackle into the house. I do not know if there is any reason to......I just feel like the extreme heat and moderately cold weather are not necessarily good for them......just how my mind works
  23. Went out again today looking for that fall bite......to no avail really. Caught a few sand bass and some bluegill.........the creeks have been packed with shad for the last couple of weeks........I'm guessing water has just not cooled off enough yet (still 79 degrees) for that great bite? That will probably change this weekend with forecasted cooler temps and a lot of rain.
