Just Had The Crap Scared Out Of Me!
That might have resulted in small arms fire at my house...LOL. One morning afew years ago... around 0500......I get up and head to bathroom to get ready for work. Without too much detail......Sometimes it just hard for a Man to act like Man when he is sitting there in all of natures glory and a mouse runs into the small (10'x6') bathroom. and across my bare feet while I am still trying to wake up. But that did wake me up...that's for sure. And just like me watching for another mouse for weeks.........you will be wary of socks on the floor Been mouse free (at least have not seen one or any sign in 3 years or better)

Tired Of Rain...
They did get a lot. We got between 12"-17" this month in OK. The wettest month ever I think. Most all the lakes in eastern OK are near the top of flood pool. Only like 7 or 8 days without rain........think we are in for a week or so with no rain. I'm with you.....tired of the rain!

Oklahoma Reports
Here was my favorite ramp on Gibson....top of the ramp is out by the light pole.....come up another 6.5' since that pic. Next week supposed to have a run of dryer days.........at least that's the forecast. But remember.....this is OK.

Bifocal Contacts
I've worn them for several years now. But I've found they dry out in me while running across the lake....even with sun glasses on. I've started not wearing them when I go fishing.......bought some reading glass stickers and put them on the bottom of my sun glasses......my distance vision is still manageable without correction. Not great...but manageable. But they are great for work......still keep readers handy though.

Maybe The Drought Is Over
Here, near Tulsa, on Ft. Gibson Lake......14.5' above normal and rising as of 1000 hrs this morning. More rain expected Sat, Sun and Monday (some very heavy.) Then chance of rain everyday through Friday per the 7 day outlook. Here is my preferred ramp. (Most are closed as I understand.) Top of the ramp is out where the light pole is.

Boat Owners Worst Nightmare
Very glad to hear there were no injuries. Keep us posted as to what happens with the insurance claim if he doesn't mind sharing. If he had agreed value then he should get that amount if it is a total loss....at least that is what I would expect.

Boat Capsizes/no Life Jackets On/death/how?
Sad. Not sure a pfd would have helped the poor fella that lost his life. Definitely wouldn't have hurt him though.

Batteries.....
I have a dual pro charger and they recommend leaving the charger connected and on all the time. That's what do........works for me.

Water Level Fluctuations And Bass

Water Level Fluctuations And Bass
What constitutes a fluctuation in water level that will affect (make bass move)? IE. how many feet over what time span? Just kind of wondering.

Braid W/o Leader. Am I The Only One...
I fish both with and without a leader....depends on technique/conditions. I had a great teacher that taught me how to tie two lines together a few years ago........ .Ghoti ! Thanks Gary.

Water Level Fluctuations And Bass
Water level fluctuations affect bass. But how quickly? How fast or far does the water have to fluctuate before the bass reacts? Does it take days or hours for the bass to react? Look at the example of a lake level that is fluctuating due to spring rains and releases of the rain water to maintain close to ‘normal’ pool. Do the bass react to these fluctuations? To what degree? Thanks Chris

Bass Boat Owners - What Do You Like/dislike...
Drive all the boats you can until you find the one that you fall in love with. But then......never want it so much you are willing to 'overlook' anything or compromise. At the end of December I bought a 2009 Procraft 210 SuperPro.....20'-9" with a 225HP Merc for $18K..........In my opinion a very good boat. My first and last boat was a 2001 Procraft 185 Pro.....18'-6" with a 150HP Merc. Like Scott said......all boats need maintenance.....if cared for properly the majority of any brand will last just fine. Good luck......looking is half the fun!

Boats Collide On Tenkiller....no Pfds....when Will People Learn?
Very sad about their dad not making it. A pfd is for emergencies. We seldom, if ever, know when the emergency will happen.....if we did we would just avoid being in that place at that moment in time. I'll go when the good Lord has decided I'm done here on earth.......I don't recall how many stories I've read or seen on TV where the missing fisherman was not wearing a PFD.....days, sometimes weeks go by before the body is found if it is even found at all. I don't want to put my family through that........like Franco said......make it easier to find my body if nothing else.

Boats Collide On Tenkiller....no Pfds....when Will People Learn?
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a boating collision Tuesday afternoon on Lake Tenkiller hurt three people. Troopers said the incident occurred on the Cherokee County lake between Needles Point and Snake Creek at about 2:30 p.m. The OHP said a 1996 Skeeter bass boat operated by James Williams, 43, of Ganns was headed east when it was struck by a southbound 1991 Ranger bass boat operated by Jeremy Bersche, 28, of Sallisaw. Troopers said the impact threw Bersche and a passenger, Ernest Fletcher, 38, of Fort Smith out of their boat. Bersche wasn't injured, but Fletcher was taken to a Fort Smith hospital where he was treated and released. The driver of the other boat, James Williams wasn't injured, but his two passengers - Jason Belt, 43, and Anthony Farris, 36, both from Sallisaw - were taken to the hospital. Belt was flown to a Tulsa hospital and Farris was taken to a Tahlequah hospital. Both were admitted and the OHP says both were stable. The OHP says no one on either boat was wearing a life jacket. When will people learn to wear pfds ? You just never know when you'll need them!

Advice For My First Gopro Purchase?
I would say get one that can loop video. Set it to loop and it records ......when something happens you want to keep...just press the sutter button and it captures the last 5 minutes (it's adjustable)....then press it again and it starts recording again. That way you have much less footage to go through.

Why Did Motorguide Put This In The Box?
You are correct.......but I have never recieved one in any of last 6 trolling motors that I have purchased. I called Mercury/Motorguide today and the person I talked to or the 2 others he asked had ever seen/or heard of it shipping with a trolling motor. Oh well.......guess I've got an extra.
