  2. No matter what ya call it......come join us if you can at 8 p.m. On Saturday, March 5th.
  3. Anybody else going to meet up with us for supper/dinner?
  4. I watched you win......so ,no way I wasn't gonna enter!
  5. Looking forward to meeting you, little Fish....
  6. Here is my alarm install. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/164601-swapped-out-boat-alarm/
  7. X2 on what has been mentioned here. here is a link to a post about my boat alarm install.....don't leave your valuables in the boat....alarm is just to alert me that someone is messing around where they shouldn't be.
  8. Hope not. If they are burnt out you Should be able to reach the bulbs from below maybe ? thats one of the reasons I don't leave the key in the boat........I'm worried I will leave it in the on position.
  9. I would think that a piece of loose or Velcro'd carpet would be a tripping hazard if not outright dangerous. i would just be careful or use a towel and toss it in a hatch when running.
  10. At least you tried! i didn't have time to get to fish......but my wife and I towed the boat 35 minutes to the boat ramp......backed it down until the lower unit was unde water and fired her up for 5 minutes. Wanted to check out a recent mod. Then pulled out and headed the 35 minutes back home.......that hurt.
  11. Anyone else gonna join us? You will have a blast! These road trips are a great time.
  12. Yes. But I have a retentive streak a mile wide and I like to keep things as stock looking as possible. A new gauge would not have looked like the others. On the plus side I do get a good bit more information.
  13. That would be wet sanding, right? either way, like Tom said......easy does it.
  14. I finally got around to installing the Mercury NMEA 2000 Gateway so I could view my engine information on my Lowrance HDS 9 Touch. I needed : 1. Mercury NMEA 2000 Gateway Part# 84-8M0065208 $372 shipped 2. Male to male connector Quicksilver OEM Part # 84-892452T01 CABLE ASY-MAL/MAL $15 shipped 3. CAN cable. Mercury Mercruiser Quicksilver OEM Part # 84-879982T20 HARNESS ASSY $78 shipped $465 Total had to run the CAN cable from console to the engine thru the wiring tube at the engine. To do this I disassembled the connector end (see the link below for how to disassemble the connector).....it was very easy. Running the cable thru the rigging tube was the most difficult. The cable connected at the engine. I used an old fishing rod tip to fish the wire through.....took about 10 minutes. then mounted the gateway under the console and connected one end to the cable using the male to male connector. also required is a NMEA 2000 network ( I already had that in place).....connected the other end Gateway to the NMEA 2000 network. was not difficult.....and now I can see my engine temp.....the motivating reason I wanted to do this project. http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engine-repair-and-maintenance/mercury-mariner-outboards/276854-how-to-disassemble-a-smartcraft-cable-connector
  15. I went from cable steer to motorguide xi5. I loved it.....and hated it at the same time. Went back to cable steer. i think it turned very fast......but I HATED the noise it made when it turned. I don't think it bothered the fish.....but drove me nuts. so back to the cable steer....do miss the features of the electric steer.
  16. X2 took a boat safety course free at Bass Pro. That is one of the places my state holds those classes.
  17. If lights on tow vehicle are correct. And trailer lights are correct when connected to another tow vehicle. i would start my search at the trailer light connector on my tow vehicle.
  18. I have the Bone Dry. Last year on the road trip to Toledo Bend it rained alot. Trenchal down pour stuff. I was soaked by the end of the day. I realized later that my wife had washed my rainsuit.....greatly reducing it ability to repel water. I have since coated it twice with water repellant spray......have not used it again....but will in the next couple of months. I think that is why my Bone Dry failed me....we will see.
  19. I like tradition. i don't like teams moving here and there. to be honest......I think I'm about done with them all. y'all can support 'em .......I'm out.
  20. X2. I just bought a handful of these in the lipless variety to see how they compare to my ratltraps....$2-4 cheaper than the ratltraps.
  21. Let's meet at Albert G's Downtown for supper/dinner on Saturday March 5th at 8 pm. Who's gonna join me? 421 E 1st st Tulsa, OK Changed location to Albert G's Downtown to be closer to the Expo.
  22. I did this very thing last year. there are days I wish I had not done this - mostly days I have to make the payment or deal with something financial. other days I'm so glad I did - mostly the days I don't have to make the payments or deal with something financial.....and I'm fishing!
  23. Megaware keel guard is both the old and new. not sure how long the other was on the boat....previous owner installed it. previous owner must have rubbed the keel on a rock or something because a small section was worn through and the keel exposed. nothing wrong with the product.....did what it was supposed to do.
  24. My wife and I just finished replacing the old keel protector. That is a lot of work. It has been cold....so pulled boat in garage with work lights and a tiny heater. hair dryer helped us pull the old keel protector off last weekend. used goo gone and a lot of elbow grease to get old adhesive off last Sunday. scuffed the area, cleaned and prepped as instructed. Then installed as instructed. Bass Pro / Tracker wanted $199 labor to install........hope I made the right decision to do it myself.
